Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Header/alt

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome to the dispute resolution noticeboard (DRN)

This is an informal place to resolve small disputes about article content, as part of dispute resolution, as well as a place to seek guidance on where larger article issues can be addressed. Unfortunately, issues solely regarding the behaviour of other editors don't belong here. Additionally, we cannot accept disputes that are already under discussion elsewhere. If you have a question, you may ask it on our talk page. This is an early stop for most disputes on Wikipedia. Remember to be civil and keep Wikipedia's policies in mind when discussing issues.

Remember - Noticeboards should not be a substitute for talk pages. Editors are expected to have had extensive discussion on a talk page (not just through edit summaries) to work out the issues before coming to DRN.

Any editor is welcome to volunteer here, and there's no need to sign up as to start commenting (though it helps our bot understand who is handling which threads) - you can click this button to add your name.

The DRN noticeboard has a rotating volunteer co-ordinator, who helps keep the threads here organised and makes sure disputes are attended to as quickly as possible. They also offer assistance to volunteers that need it. Likewise, any concerns about the conduct of DRN volunteers should be raised with the coordinator (or on the DRN talk page). Currently,

None, position eliminated. is the co-ordinator.

Do you need assistance? Would you like to help?

If we can't help you, a volunteer will point you in the right direction. For discussions to have the best chance of success, we ask you to come here with an open mind, be respectful to each other, as brief in your comments as possible, and at all times keep Wikipedia's policies in mind. Check that a notice was delivered to each person you add to the filing. If missing, add {{subst:drn-notice}} on their user talk page then sign and date your posts with four tildes "~~~~".

If you need a helping hand just ask a volunteer, who will assist you. For general questions relating to the dispute resolution process, please take a look at our FAQ page.

We are always looking for new volunteers and everyone is welcome. It's not necessary to have previous dispute resolution experience, or to sign up as a volunteer - anyone is welcome to provide input, but being patient and understanding is important, as is having a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines. It's important to only comment on cases you are not involved in - editors may object to your participation if you have prior involvement.

Adding yourself to the list however does allow participants to know who is helping them, and helps the bot know who's helping which cases. It's not mandatory to list yourself as a volunteer to help here, anyone is welcome to provide input.
