Image previously removed from Jimi Hendrix article for failing WP:NFCC#8 and challenged. Claimed to fail WP:NFCC#8 because the statue is not discussed in the text, nor is the significance (if any) of the statue explained. Fails WP:NFCC#8 - for what is discussed of Hendrix's early life, it is not necessary to show a non-free photo, because nothing about the mother or Hendrix's appearance during that period is discussed in the article. In addition, this photo in particular is not the subject of sourced commentary. Lastly, as this is a professional photograph, it may also fall afoul of WP:NFCC#2. Fails WP:NFCC#8 - it is not necessary to show a photo of Hendrix to understand that he performed at Woodstock. For this photo in particular, it does not show anything that was significant about Hendrix in regards to Woodstock, such as the different band, etc. This photo is also not mentioned in the text, nor the subject of sourced commentary. Tagged for deletion as replaceable fair use image and challenged. Notwithstanding the inadequate fair use rationale, Terry Lamb is still alive, and this image is being used solely to show what the subject looks like. Fails NFCC 8 as it's use does not contain critical commentary of the media file, and nor does its presence expand the readers understanding of the topic. LQ there's already two other pictures on this page with better quality that portray the same ancient timeline of the Santur, reader's can barely make out what this image is and it's featured at the top of the page. There should be a picture of what the Santur looks like today on top and two different high quality images have been uploaded to replace this picture. The statue depicted in this photograph was created in the United States in 1907, so I believe it must be in the public domain. However, the act of photographing the sculpture creates a new copyright, and the uploader has not indicated the licensing status of this photograph. If the photograph itself has not been released freely, we cannot accept it here, since it would be replaceable by a freely licensed photograph of this public-domain sculpture; see WP:NFCC#1. Delete, but not for many of the reasons that you suggest. If you read the description page, you'll see that it claims to be taken from a Flickr image that is marked as all-rights-reserved.
