The uploader says this is "own work" but the white strip at the bottom of the image looks like it may be a caption on a postcard. I'm not 100% sure about that because the image is very small but perhaps others could cast their eyes over it. Sitush (talk) 16:26, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
- It’s blurry and difficult to read, but it appears to be in a non-Latin script. 108.210.218.116 (talk) 21:31, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
- Singh is considered to be a Shaheed (martyr) in India. His birthplace, which is the subject of the image, is in what is now Pakistan. So no surprise re: the script. The place is a tourist attraction/museum. - Sitush (talk) 21:54, 25 December 2017 (UTC)
- Comment This doesn't look to be own work. There are 6 other copies of the file shown at TinEye if we don't count those at WP. All are very small and have the caption; most are the same size as the file we have here. I'd say it was taken from somewhere else, possibly here. We hope (talk) 16:06, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

The Hamilton Public Library only owns the "copyright" to the digital versions, not the originals. That copyright probably doesn't exist (see {{PD-Art}}), so isn't relevant. The original copyright on the photograph was restored in the United States by the URAA; see {{PD-Canada}}. ~ Rob13Talk 18:52, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

- Delete I've removed the proxy from the links, and found some details that further cast doubt on the validity of the stated license. The article was published in 1998, a few years before Creative Commons came about. Oh, and the Copyright Clearance Center lists it as All Rights Reserved. So there's that. --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 03:20, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
