The result of the discussion was: Textbook WP:NFCC#1 violation -FASTILY 00:42, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
- File:Dongguan Rail Transit Control and Commercial Complex.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Jesse Chan (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Non-free image used on Dongguan Rail Transit. However, there are free images available that illustrate this transit system. Citobun (talk) 05:08, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Keep I am not able to find an alternative free image that depicts the control center of Dongguan Rail Transit. Dongguan Rail Transit has relatively small amount of information. The image provides substantial and significant additional information. Jesse Chan (talk) 05:42, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- The subject of the article is not the control centre, but the Dongguan subway system in general, for which there are ample free images available. Citobun (talk) 06:16, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Delete - The stated purpose of the image is for visual identification but is not a logo or other identifying mark of the Dongguan Rail Transit. The visual identification role is also currently done with File:Dongguan Rail Transit logo.svg, the company logo. So this image also fails WP:NFCC#8, and WP:NFCC#3a in addition to the reason stated in the nomination. -- Whpq (talk) 03:10, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

There is an equivalent file on Commons at File:The Legend of Zelda - Golden Catridge.jpg which appears correctly licenced. This extinguishes the Fair Use rationale for the local and subtly different file Fiddle Faddle 14:45, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

- File:Root 5 On A Number Line.JPG (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Srinivas (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
Unused, low-quality jpeg. This is also somewhat inaccurate -- the arc visibly meets the axis to the left of the circle's rightmost point, which shouldn't happen. I don't think there's any reason to leave this lying around (or to transfer to Commons, for the same reasons). –Deacon Vorbis (carbon • videos) 15:57, 4 September 2020 (UTC)

Image does not conform with WP:NFCC#8 policy; content is easily explained in prose of plot summary, making the image redundant. -- /Alex/21 23:06, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Keep: Images like the ones listed have been used on Wikipedia since images were allowed. They are used to present a main point in the episode, and/or an important detail in the episode. The whole third season finale and the beginning of the fourth season revolve around Jesse killing Gale, and the image presents the situation to the reader in a simple form. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 01:27, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
- Is the plot point already used in prose? Yes? Image not needed. Just because other similar articles and images exist, does not make it acceptable. -- /Alex/21 02:40, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

Delete- As currently used, it fails WP:NFCC#8. The image is not the subject of significant sourced commentary. It's just sitting out there with an unsourced plot summary. -- Whpq (talk) 03:13, 7 September 2020 (UTC)- @Whpq, you're conclusion makes no sense. The finale of the episode revolves around Jesse Pinkman having to kill Gale to save Walter's life, as well as his own. The image clearly presents the situation to the reader/viewer, (e.g Jessie has watery eyes, implying that he doesn't want to kill Gale). This improves the subject to the reader, as they can see the situation (plot/caption) and can see an image depicting said situation. That's what images are for, to show the pivotal moment of an episode. With your logic (as well as the logic from Alex 21), we should be deleting all images from shows such as The Walking Dead and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who all use images to express pivotal moments in their episodes. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 15:27, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- As stated in my !vote, there is no significant sourced commentary. You are asserting its importance to the article, but that assertion needs to be backed up with the sourced commentary. At this point, there is none. Also, its not sufficient to simply add a reference that verififies the plot summary. It needs to be critical commentary that backs up the assertion that this is a critical element of the episode. -- Whpq (talk) 15:32, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Whpq. Wow, "no significant sourced commentary" to the moment that changed a character's development and has been named one of the saddest moments in the show's history. When people click on the article, and they see the image, they'll know exactly what they are about to read, as this is one of the most important images in the show's history. It's literally a set piece for the fourth season. You want to delete this pivotal image and you thought "that I wouldn't take measures - extreme measures - to defend myself? Wrong! Think again." Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 21:07, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- Some Dude From North Carolina, where is the sourced commentary in the article? Sure, it's an important scene, all well and good, but just adding it into the article with no accompanying sources and commentary in the article violates Wikipedia's policies. Also, please read WP:OTHER; just because other articles do something improperly, does not make it correct.
- And you need to remain calm and continue the discussion in a civil manner. Being brusque in your responses is going to do the opposite of help your acse. -- /Alex/21 01:25, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

- @Alex 21: I don't know man, all I'm saying is that this image shows a pivotal moment in the episode's (and show's) history. It displays an important scene in a simple, clear image. I say keep because literally all shows that have images do this, they upload images of a pivotal moment in the episode. In this case, the finale of the third season is the pivotal moment, and the image shows that. So I say keep. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 15:25, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- I appreciate you are passionate about this TV series. I suggest that the best way to keep this image is to channel that passion into editing the article to add the commentary that support this scene as a pivotal moment. As stated repeatedly, there is no sourced commentary in the article to support the image. -- Whpq (talk) 17:30, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- "Sourced commentary" has been added. Some Dude From North Carolina (talk) 22:09, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- The improvements are marginal but sufficient so I will switch to keep. -- Whpq (talk) 00:17, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
