CIA.gov changes
It looks like the CIA's website was updated and they aren't redirecting from their old URLs. I'm not sure if this affects URLs outside of the The World Factbook. The change for Factbook locations is:
- https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/pk.html to https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/pakistan/
So it's probably going to need an expansion from ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 codes to the full name, or a manual mapping from the list here. While there's probably more URLs than just this affected, I figured I'd start with what I know. Perryprog (talk) 17:56, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Perryprog: The mapping is unique to the CIA. They have Switzerland as "sz" (ISO "ch") and "ch" as China and who knows what else. I was able to create a map from the HTML source of link which luckily contains the mapping, kudos to the CIA for keeping keys in the clear :) -- GreenC 03:13, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oops—probably shouldn't have assumed it was two-letter ISO codes. Thank you for doing the due diligence :). Perryprog (talk) 18:32, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

Results:
- Convert old to new: 6,580 (Example)
- Convert old to archive: 28 (Example)
- Conversion of
{{CIA World Factbook link}}

{{Infobox economy}}
|cianame=
: 165 (Example) - Various other links in templates: ~40
These are preliminary results, probably more to be found. -- GreenC 04:52, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- GreenC, geez, that's very helpful, and especially with regard to the extra template-stuff. I was worried I was going to have to write a bot myself (although that was before I realized there were issues beyond just changing some links) before someone told me WP:URLREQ existed :). Thank you very much. Perryprog (talk) 13:52, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
- You are welcome, URL changes are difficult for a lot of reasons. Can't do a basic search-replace. Have to work with adding/removing
{{dead link}}
tags, adding/removing{{webarchive}}
, bare and square links. Adding and removing archive URLs. Checking the new URL is working including following redirects (sites with "interesting" headers). Anyway, I'll look at other CIA urls next to see what else might be moved. -- GreenC 15:27, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

Hung Medien Greek/Mexican charts
Hello. I'd like to request if archived links could be found & added for greekcharts.com and mexicancharts.com. They are currently in use without archived links at A State of Trance 2007 and Icon (Nirvana album) for example. Thanks! --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 00:06, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
- MrLinkinPark333, these have been processed by the bot (super slow due to Wayback loads) and only a handful of saves, suspect they were already done by IAbot before. Also set the domains to global blacklist in IABot database. -- GreenC 01:37, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
