What's going on?

[edit]

SlubGlub keeps editing out Internet Radio History involving pioneering webcaster HardRadio. He has done so many times and is attempting to change the true history with what seems his own agenda. No one ever questioned, or edited, or in any way disputed, the HardRadio history in the many, many months that first a paragraph, then a single line, appeared in the history section of the wiki regarding HardRadio. SlubGlub has taken it upon himself to try to alter the history of the medium. Other moderators had informed him in the past via the discussion section of the article that the Hardradio history as it appeared was acceptable.

What would you like to change about that?

[edit]

Reapply the original paragraph of the HardRadio history and have the SlubGlub quit trying to insert his opinion and/or agenda. The paragraph follows: HardRadio.com remains the oldest surviving internet-only radio station. During its history, HardRadio.com was the first internet-only radio station licensed by both ASCAP and BMI, the first internet-only radio station with broadcast trade journal playlist reporting status, the first internet-only radio station serviced by the recording labels, the first internet-only radio station to feature world premieres of new artist releases, and the first internet-only radio station featured in Radio & Records Magazine (April 1996).

As an added note, there were several references attached to this paragraph that the SlubGlub decided to disregard as well.

Discussion

Edit discussion page

I am trying to assume good faith here. It is difficult not to get miffed by this request for mediation for the following, among other, reasons:

  • The request contains personal attacks on me.
  • The request is clearly biased for one side over the other rather than explicating the issue of disagreement. (Fortunately, the nature of the disagreement is preserved in the talk page for the Internet radio article. Additionally, the way this mediation request describes the content of that talk page is a gross mischaracterization.)
  • The author of the mediation request appears to be mistaken about several simple factual matters. For example, I did not, as the mediation request implies, remove the single line about HardRadio from the article. Another user did. In fact, I am the person who proposed and then wrote the single line as a replacement for the paragraph Radioist wants reinstated.

This is only a partial list of the things that are troubling to me about this mediation request. SlubGlub (talk) 15:24, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
