Portal:Australia portals (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Delete Portal-of-portals that does not conform to the WP:POG guideline. Has a big ol' red error message. UnitedStatesian (talk) 02:55, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speedy delete per WP:CSD#P2 - it is a portal based on a topic for which there is only a stub header article or fewer than three non-stub articles detailing subject matter that would be appropriate to present under the title of that portal - the page has no actual articles (there are no articles about Australian portals). I have tagged it for speedy deletion. --DannyS712 (talk) 02:59, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy Delete but it had one use as it helped me find and nominate Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Portal:Powderfinger (2nd nomination) Legacypac (talk) 03:08, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I agree WP:P2 should have applied. We have zero encyclopedia articles on the topic of Australia portals on Wikipedia. But since the admin declined the speedy, WP:POG applies: the portal has no mainspace scope and links to no articles at all. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 04:09, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging Espresso Addict, the admin who declined the speedy deletion, to make them aware of the discussion here. --DannyS712 (talk) 04:16, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I was aware of it already, thanks. In my opinion, it doesn't clearly meet P2 as the header topic can be interpreted as Australia. Always best in case of doubt to let the XfD run its course and generate a clear decision on whether such disambiguation portals are useful or not.
