Portal:Mitt Romney (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

Single person portal predating the portal creation spree. Delete like the many other single person portals discussed. Legacypac (talk) 23:23, 13 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete as most single people are not "broad subject areas" under WP:POG. In this case, it seems to be mainly a navbox portal that provides no real additional navigation benefit over the main article, which portals are supposed to do. Meszzy2 (talk) 09:50, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete I think there are some people who do constitute a "broad topic" per WP:POG, but Romney is known as a US senator, former US state governor and failed presidential candidate, and I don't think that's sufficient. Hut 8.5 10:17, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I do agree that there are some very influential people who have enough articles to be considered a broad topic. I made sure to say most single people don't instead of all single people. Meszzy2 (talk) 10:34, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
First, he is still alive. Second, while a well known politician, he does not have a lasting legacy or real body of work like say, a famous painter. Third, and most importantly, his article can easily handle in summary form and links everything that falls under the topic of Mitt. I thought Hillary had been deleted but she is still under discussion so I removed her as an example. Legacypac (talk) 10:47, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
But he has a navbox! He must need a portal!! Meszzy2 (talk) 10:55, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
