Unproposed, single-user initiated project. Such a project has been attempted in the past (apparently, once in 2017 and again in 2020) without getting off the ground, suggesting that the necessary support by multiple interested parties just isn't there. - i am in the process of getting other users involved and have several parties interested from social media, they will follow in due time Geminispacexdragon (talk) 20:27, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Interest on social media doesn't cut it. You need interest from established Wikipedians who understand how Wikipedia works and won't mess things up by being wrong about how Wikipedia works, not randos recruited from social networking platforms. Bearcat (talk) 02:24, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars, @Geminispacexdragon, @Bearcat: Before the project was nominated for deletion, I added the template to ~270 talk pages and created many of the necessary categories. Hope that helps to get things started. GoingBatty (talk) 03:42, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- I am talking about “Wikipedians”, not “randos”. How would wikipedians even know about a project to get involved with if every new project gets deleted? That’s where talking to people on social media comes in… Geminispacexdragon (talk) 18:38, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- The idea is that you find those individuals and together propose the project following accepted procedures, not just start one on your own on a whim that may or may not receive any interest. The interest has to be there first, or else there'd be thousands of abandoned projects. I would think reaching out to other regular editors of Justin Bieber-related articles would be a good first step. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 19:56, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
- If you're talking about Wikipedians rather than randos, then why on earth are you scouring social networking platforms to find Wikipedians? If you want to find Wikipedians, you need to look for them on Wikipedia — if you troll social media, you're going to get randos.
- At any rate, the problem you're talking about is precisely why we already have a place where the creation of new WikiProjects can be proposed and discussed, which is the very part of the process that you bypassed. Bearcat (talk) 15:41, 30 November 2023 (UTC)

- Delete. While normally I might suggest putting this on hold to see if interest existed, creator hasn't appeared to have edited a Talk page or a Wikiproject talk page ever beforehand, suggesting this isn't arising from an organic need. Geminispacexdragon: I don't think this is your "fault" exactly, but unfortunately, you've stumbled into a newbie trap. The problem isn't that there are hordes of editors eager to help work on Bieber but no place to discuss, just waiting for a WikiProject to be created. I would suggest participating at WP:WPMUSIC / WP:POPMUSIC and their talk pages first, as well as Talk:Justin Bieber and related talk pages, where you can outline whatever improvements you think would be helpful, questions, article improvement / creation drives, whatever. If lots of people are chiming in and WPPOPMUSIC is complaining about too much Bieber-related content on their talk page... then, maybe. But even then, you might be surprised; sometimes the wider audience from a larger Wikiproject is helpful for getting a fresh insight. Basically, if you want to help out, that's great and we encourage it, but there's already places to do so that are arguably too fragmented, and further fragmenting them won't help. Some of the most effective WikiProjects are the very large ones. SnowFire (talk) 23:27, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
