- Source web page states: "Fotogalerii zpěvačky si můžete stáhnout a použít, a to zdarma. Při publikaci však nezapomeňte uvádět jméno autorky fotografie, najdete je pod každým obrázkem" Google Translate suggests: "Singer photo gallery you can download and use for free. In the book, however, be sure to include name author photos, you can find them under every picture" Is this really free enough? Are derivative works included in "use for free"? - 1983 statue. No proof confirming that it is placed indoors in the United Kingdom or outdoors in a country which allows freedom of panorama for artworks. - File:ArmenianDance1.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- The picture seems to have been taken with a modern camera and the file information page suggests that the photo might have been taken by Richard Hagopian (born in 1937), so unlikely made before 1923 as stated in the licence tag. Stefan2 (talk) 13:32, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Richard Hagopian is the musician for the song and dance of the girls dancing here, the info you need I provided below here: — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frost778 (talk • contribs) 23:56, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I replaced the old tag with the PD tag, I noticed the date of the tag was incorrect where it said before 1923, sorry I hadnt notice that part of the PD tag. I provided the user and the source link for the file holder below:
image came from http://spinninginair.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html by Anna Aghajanian (username is backintothefuture) at http://www.flickr.com/photos/aghajanian/ Frost778 (talk) 22:52, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Flickr specifies the licence as "all rights reserved". I can't find any licence at Blogspot. --Stefan2 (talk) 00:06, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So what should we do? Should I reupload the one from flickr? Or ? The link I provided in the blogspot mentions the image is from the flickr user. Frost778 (talk) 00:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can you also take a look at this? http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons I found this in the flickr site regarding the licensing issue. Frost778 (talk) 08:08, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Flickr allows many different image licences, for example the Creative Commons licences. The licence varies from image to image and it is necessary to inspect each image (for example here) to confirm its licence before uploading it here. The page you mentioned shows some examples of images under various Creative Commons licences. The image that you uploaded seems to be under the "all rights reserved" licence which isn't considered a free licence by the Wikimedia Foundation, so the image should not be used here unless you receive permission from the uploader at Flickr. --Stefan2 (talk) 08:57, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thats incorrect actually. If you look at those examples of the CC Creative Commons that flickr mentioned, you notice at the bottom of those images as well says the same "all rights reserved" same way as the Armenian dance image. This is the way the flickr site is mentioning for all of the images pages. Take a look at one of the examples from the CC Creative commons http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons image sample here [1] You notice the same thing there you see? Frost778 (talk) 09:51, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, I'm sorry, I see what you are referring to now. We have always had atleast 1 Armenian dance image on wikipedia. I need atleast 1 valid excepted Armenian dance image to upload here. The previous ones were also removed from the site. The image is in a few main Armenian related pages, and I need atleast one valid image. Can you help me out on this? The images.google.com has tons of Armenian dance images here [2], can you find me one to use CC tag?? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Frost778 (talk • contribs) 09:59, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- File was moved to Commons but it was deleted then removed and deleted again. The problem was that license tags was not fixed. So I restored but got second thoughts because of the "The image was made for me by a hired professional photographer." The problem is that normally you only buy one single copy when you hire a photographer. Did the photographer give all rights to uploader? - Source is given as "Brazilian Navy(Marinha Brasileira)" but there is no link so that we can verify. There is also no link that confirm that file is PD. Uploader is not very active so tagging with "no source" or "no permission" would probably result in deletion without a chance to save the photo. MGA73 (talk) 19:44, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I'm very uncertain about this image. It is claimed that Megaupload is supposed to redirect to this image, but it doesn't, at least not for me: my ISP can't manage to look up the DNS name. I also tried using a US web proxy in case you would only find that image if you connect from a US IP address, but I got the same result. I would like to assume that the image is {{PD-USGov-DOJ}}, but due to the fact that it is hosted on a competing Amazon website and that Megaupload doesn't redirect to this image when I'm trying to access it makes me suspicious. Stefan2 (talk) 23:52, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I visited MegaUpload.com a 2nd time just now and am still getting redirected to the URL. Although there is a VERY long delay in being directed there, how long did you wait for it to load? I am actually viewing this from a Canadian ISP, so now you have me wondering if this redirect is ISP-specific or nation-specific. Can some others try this to see what happens? Regardless of what company owns the site it redirects to (Amazon.com's project Amazon Web Services)) based on reports that the FBI took this down, and the URL has been pointed to it, it leads me to believe the FBI owns space on an Amazon provider and used it to host that image. As such, I am going to add that template you just listed, unless there's some other explanation for why this URL would point there for Canadian ISPs. Could we find info if the FBI has used AWS to host public statements regarding to takedown actions? Y12J (talk) 00:40, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I waited for it to load until my browser reported "Page Load Error". I think the waiting time for that message might have been several minutes. I also tried obtaining the IP from the command-line:

- I tried it again yesterday and now also today. Yesterday, I was redirected to the Amazon URL and now I'm seeing it directly at the Megaupload URL without redirect. Since a lot of people are redirected to this image, I think that we can assume that it is real and thus keep it. My concern was only that it might be hoax since I wasn't being redirected there myself when I reported this, but I think that this can now be closed as keep as the original concerns no longer apply. --Stefan2 (talk) 09:04, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Stefan's correct, I just checked and the site no longer redirects (although the image is still hosted on amazon, moved to a third site) like it did before, though the image remains. Y12J (talk) 21:15, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
