In the UK, round One Pound Coins will cease to be legal tender this weekend. I'm not sure if deeeep.io is popular enough for it to have its own page. Unlike agar.io and slither.io which each have many millions of players, deeeep.io's players only number in the thousands (maybe up to 100k). Maybe it would be better to create a .io games page and put a section on deeeep.io under it? 1.02 editor (talk) 01:35, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Popawi Ruins The Popawi Ruins are cliff dwellings and buildings on top of a plateau in Rio Arriba County, New Mexico, United States. It is the remains of a indigenous village. The location is near that of the Puye ruins ([3]) while this neighboring location holds its own, albeit non functioning, website there is almost no information about the Popawi cliff dwellings. There is a visitors center and information located on site though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:E000:35D4:4F00:DCB7:8363:4AE8:87DC (talk) 05:14, 22 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has an article for Armenian Americans but not one specifically for New York Armenians. There should be one for that and/or Little Armenia, New York (in Manhattan). There's only an article for Little Armenia, Los_Angeles . According to Largest Armenian diaspora communities, the New York metropolitan area has the second largest Armenian community in the United States (after Los Angeles). There used to be a neighborhood in Manhattan called Little Armenia which changed to be more heavily populated by Indians and is now called Curry Hill ([[4]]). Given the previous link, maybe this article should be called Armenians in the New York City metropolitan region instead, or maybe it should be called History of the Armenian Americans in New York since History of the Armenian Americans in Los Angeles exists. There are a lot of Armenians in New Jersey as well but I'm not sure about other areas. There are also a lot of Armenians in [[5]]. I'm from there, my family had three stores in the 80s/90s, one of which sold mostly Armenian food, so I know the area well and that there were a lot of Armenian customers. I'm not sure if my sources aside from Wikipedia are considered good, but if you Google you can find more information on all this.) There is a list of photovoltaics companies, however I could find no such list for other companies that manufacturer solar system components other than solar modules or subcomponents, such as for inverters, batteries, converters, monitoring systems, mounting systems, trackers, and charge controllers. A database of such companies is here.--Jray310 (talk) 02:38, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Here is Goodwe's website, which has limited information and is not very useful for information for an encyclopedia. Here is a Goodwe UK website which includes their company profile. Press releases by the company can also be found on the UK website here. Goodwe is a Chinese solar inverter manufacturer founded in 2010 with a majority investment by electronics conglomerate JXT Group ($20 million according to some sources, none of which appear to be very reliable, such as here [this is their LinkedIn Company page, it is not independent], here, and here. The other sources have very similar (if not the same) text as the LinkedIn page) and the Chinese government. Limited information appears to be available about JXT Group, except for mention in relation to Goodwe. I admit that it is difficult to find sources that are reliable, published, verfiable, neutral and not original research, so unless enough of such sources can be found to create an article, then I guess that the article should not be included on Wikipedia.

Here are some independent, seemingly reliable sources (whether the articles are neutral may be more questionable, all of these articles may be considered to be promotional or biased):

13 million Google hits for this expression. An example of usage of this expression in photo caption here http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/tetrapod-zoology/2013/11/05/coelophysoid-theropods-101/ . This expression seems to usually refer to a Creative Commons license, but I don't know whether it can correctly be used for other licenses as well. Here seems to be discussing "generic" usage - http://lists.ibiblio.org/pipermail/cc-licenses/2007-March/005310.html

This expression apparently is not currently defined anywhere on Wikipedia.

We could add a definition of this term to an existing article and make unported license redirect to it, but I think that this expression should be defined somewhere on Wikipedia. 189.122.204.2 (talk) 15:15, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't read the book but I recently read about and heard a youtube video of a radio broadcast (on coast to coast) about Missing 411 based on books called

Missing 411-Western United States & Canada: Unexplained Disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved

and

Missing 411- Eastern United States: Unexplained disappearances of North Americans that have never been solved

by David Paulides

It supposedly covers some very interesting missing persons cases that allegedly follow some consistent and very strange patterns. While I know very little about this I searched for Wikipedia because I figure it might have some decent criticism and an objective look on the subject and either Wikipedia doesn't mention the subject or I can't find it by searching for Missing 411. I figure it's worth at least mentioning the book and what it has to say and perhaps giving people the opportunity to at least list some potential criticisms as well and discuss the alleged controversy. Some information about David Paulides and his background should be in order as well. He makes claims about his own background but are they all true? Is he leaving anything out that people should know about? I'm not saying the book is wrong (or right) in what it claims just that an objective mention is worth it. Is the author just trying to sell books and they are presenting mundane facts as if they are much more unusual than they really are while cherry picking the facts or is there something really going on here?

Not done for now - Article has been redirected to David Paulides' page, anyone else, feel free to draft a page if you would like - AquilaFasciata (talk | contribs) 00:22, 25 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Falling Rain Genomics

[edit]

There used to be an article about this company/website (http://www.fallingrain.com) but it was deleted several years ago (Discussion here). I can see why it was deleted; information about it is hard to come by and it's considered not reliable. However, it's used as a reference by more than 5,000 Wikipedia articles, so we really ought to have an article on it if only so we can say it's not a reliable source (and perhaps we should initiate a project to replace all our references to it and prevent any new ones being added). Child Hyperthermia in Automobiles

[edit]

Aside from a one- or two-sentence blurb in Automobile safety, the important, and all-too-common issue of children who die of hyperthermia (heat stroke) when left in cars doesn't have a real article. Not sure what it should be called, or how to categorize it (is it a health/medical topic, child safety topic, vehicle safety topic, or societal topic?). This Pulitzer Prize-winning article on the subject is a great resource. http://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/magazine/fatal-distraction-forgetting-a-child-in-thebackseat-of-a-car-is-a-horrifying-mistake-is-it-a-crime/2014/06/16/8ae0fe3a-f580-11e3-a3a5-42be35962a52_story.html

Hi. I personally feel that this topic does not warrant an article of its own. Firstly, the importance of this is not substantial enough for an article, but it does deserve more coverage. Secondly, the number of people that would potentially read the page is fairly low, given the specificness of this topic. Maybe you can use the source that you provided to add info on your own as I am not really familiar with this topic? Caroline Reed Robertson

[edit]

I would like to know more about Caroline Reed Robertson. I would love to know her full biography. She was convicted and sentenced for killing Rachel Barber in Australia in March of 1999. It seems clear that she has identity issues and was seemingly nicknamed "The Identity Thief Killer" or "Identity Killer". A book was written about the incident called "Perfect Victim" by Megan Norris and Elizabeth Southall (Rachel's mother). This was adapted into a movie in Australia named "I Am You" and has been released in the U.S. under the title "In Her Skin", which has its own Wikipedia article. Personally, I'm more interested in Caroline's mental health. The depiction in the movie seemed to suggest more diagnoses than were mentioned and I can't help but think she may have (had) Borderline Personality Disorder. I would like to point out that I am not an expert in the field of Psychology and therefore this diagnosis is only speculative. Some of the websites I have viewed to gather information (and will include further information, the authenticity of which I cannot verify) include the following-

Telestic

[edit]

I am reading Donna Tartt's The Secret History and found myself researching the term telestic. I think an article on the Gotenna would now be appropriate. Although it's a not yet released product it is very cool and now has several independent articles written on it from sites such as Gizmodo who have actually used and tested pre release versions of it (pertinent because they are not only recycling information from the manufacturers website). With all the recent coverage I'm sure people will be looking to find info on it and Wikipedia is the right place as it is able to gather and condense accurate info from several sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.64.190.234 (talk) 14:12, 26 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not particularly against this request, but I'll add that the lack of portal isn't too incredible, in my opinion. I think first we'd need more separate articles about Monaco on Wikipedia, such as 'Cuisine of Monaco'. Creating these articles would probably be difficult (or at least take some very good research), since Monaco is such a small place and could be described culuraly as an extension of France.--Iamafanofpizza (talk) 03:17, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The worst homebrew tabletop RPG ever spoken about by more people than those involved in homebrewing it or that have played it with the creatores or played it with them. That is what I can get from what little I have read. But I expected Wikipedia to give me much more, but the article has been deleted... They call it a homebrew, but it has gone beyond that... It has sales (I think) and a CD and their is a company involved in marketing, so... It is a product of commerce, it is out there... It deserves an article, no matter how small. As I said, I came here to learn about it... But I didn't. Undead Herle King (talk) 13:04, 21 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Survey course

[edit]

I could not find a reference to university classes as a thing in themselves. What I'm particularly interested in is an article about so-called survey courses, and how they (may) differ from first, elementary, or introductory classes. This is a broad enough subject to not fall into specific disciplines, excepting possibly education. That is to say, I'd like to see an article on survey courses but not survey course in psychology, for example. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.161.9.245 (talk) 17:52, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yorkshire Gliding Club

[edit]

Some prominent UK gliding clubs have Wikipedia articles, the YGC is one of the largest, with an 80+ year history in the sport, it also has one of the country's better glider fleets and has featured on several TV programmes. It flies from Sutton Bank which is itself, a site of historical interest. Notable ex-members include Amy Johnson and there are connections with Slingsby Sailplanes. There are a number of articles on Wikipedia with references to the club.

I'd like to request a Fictional Organization page straight out of DC Comics publishing from the list of Aquaman's Enemies page list to your wiki community. I've searched high & low about finding the proper request page for fictional or comic related criteria but I've had little to no luck in finding such a page. I'm still kinda new at this so I don't know if I'm doing it right. But if you need ref, sites to find what my page request is based around. Here are only a few to go on, it is a relatively new Villain group so there isn't a lot to base it on. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/n-e-m-o/4060-62634/, and http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/N.E.M.O._(Prime_Earth). The organization is pivatol to the Aquaman Rebirth storyline, and I personallyfeel it needs to be implemented for the characters page progression, hope this info is helpful.--75.168.131.252 (talk) 22:26, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Willz06jw, please note that being advertised doesn't mean a product is notable. Being notable means that it has either attained national coverage, awards, or had a major incident taken place Please see WP:NOT for a list of things that Wikipedia is not. Currently, this redirects to Bryonia, however there are many articles with this given name on Wikipedia.
