Jordan Payne (talk · contribs) - I may not have thousands of edits on wikipedia but I know how the system works. The members of WP:PW agree that we need another admin among our ranks due to all the times the pages get vandalised and because we are normal members we can't even give them a warning about it. The only thing I have trouble with is HTML coding. If I were an admin I would not go mad with power or act holier than thou. I would be sensible and behave in a manner befitting of someone in such authority. Thankyou. Jordan Morrison Payne 17:18, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I accept my nomination of myself. XD
Questions for the candidate
[edit]Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to seek and destroy vandalism among the pages of the Professional Wrestling Project. I would also do some New Page Patrolling at nights when the project goes to sleep and if anyone requests help from me on my talk page I would give it to them.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best contribution at current is my ongoing attempt to Clean up Briscoe Brothers so it isn't in universe but doesn't have 50 "they were booked to"s a paragraph.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A:At one point I tried to change CM Punk's In wrestling section so the Anaconda Vice (not Vise) was spelt correctly. I even added a sub note at one point butit just kept getting reverted. I got angry about it and nearly broke 3RR but in future I will calm down and notify the talk page of my intentions.
Optional Questions from Trevor "Tinkleheimer" Haworth
- 4. Can you name a time you have went out of your way to help a fellow Wikipedian? Provide differences if you'd like :).
- A::I have pointed out before at WP:CHU that you can't have a lower case user name however you can cjange your signiature.
- 5. You are an editor, and notice a seemingly established user broke the Three Revert Rule what do you do?
- A::I would alert them to this and warn an admin.
- 6. You again are an editor, and notice a seemingly vandalism only account, what do you do? Note that the vandalism is happening almost instaneously.
- A::I would alert an admin immediately.
- 7. Are there any other areas besides wrestling that you partake in?
- A::I take part in some music related things and I have a lot of interest in subliminal messages and backmasking.
Trevor "Tinkleheimer" Haworth 17:47, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- 8. What if say one of your friends caused trouble on Wikipedia, and said he would no longer be friends with you if you block him? --Alisyntalk 18:35, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- A::I would Do My job. I don't care for losing friends anyway as thy always lie to me and spread rumors behind my back.
- 9. How would you handle a vandal who is good at lying and you can't tell when he's telling the truth or not? --Alisyntalk 18:51, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- A::I would ask someone else's opinion. I have some smart friends on other forums.

- Seek and Destroy was a bad Metallica Fans Joke. and I'm gonna wait till Sunday and see if consensus has been formed. Jordan Morrison Payne 18:38, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- This, I have to say, could've been handled better with a warning instead of asking for an explanation. --Alisyntalk 18:52, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I'd also suggest you take your RfA seriously, instead of making a joke of seek and destroy. --Alisyntalk 18:54, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]Oppose
[edit]- Weak provisional oppose at this stage but willing to reconsider if persuaded. Your contribs look fine, but I think "because we are normal members we can't even give them a warning about it" shows a lack of understanding of policy which would concern me in an admin. — iridescent 17:40, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per above. I'm not one for opposes based on edit counts, but 282 total edits and a general lack of experience is not something I look for in an admin candidate. Good luck next time though. Rt. 17:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Regrettful Oppose - I personally don't approve of using edit counts to determine possible adminship, but I usually think a minimum of 500 is needed. Trevor "Tinkleheimer" Haworth 17:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose needs a few more rounds in the ring. --Salix alba (talk) 17:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - Overall edit count, with few contributions to admin related areas, not enough experience or evidence yet to be a administrator. This self nom well does feel a bit power hungry, I usually do not care for this reason alone, but i feel that this circumstance shows it. Recommend withdrawal. Cheers! - Oppose - Per above. D.M.N. (talk) 18:10, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose - I find answers to questions worrying; "seek and destroy" (Kill 'Em All) vandalism? It's not a war or anything like that, you're simply making the encyclopaedic cleaner. You need more experience in places like WP:AfD etc. to get a better understanding of how/what admins do. Good luck in your future endeavours, friend. ScarianCall me Pat 18:14, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Seek & destroy???? per all of the above. --Alisyntalk 19:01, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Could not gain support on WP:PW talk page, yet self-nominated anyway. If he cannot heed consensus with familiar editors, we cannot expect XfD's to be handled any better.--12 Noon 2¢ 19:22, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- oppose answer to Q8 alone squiks me enough. Pete.Hurd (talk) 19:41, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose per 12 Noon, and others. Also, it seems as though Kurt's usual reply might seem appropriate as well. -MBK004 20:13, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Oppose Sorry, but not yet. - Philippe | Talk 20:32, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
