- As I said to you in reply to your message on my talk page, if the article does not assert importance or significance, it gets deleted - the burden is on you to demonstrate that this is an appropriate topic for an article. The best way to do that is by having reliable sources of information external to the subject. If you would like for it to be restored to your user space where you may work on it in peace, please feel free to ask. --B (talk) 12:46, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

- Done The deleting admin has been banned and it looks like a rather bad deletion (he should have reverted to a prior non-spam version rather than simply deleting), so I have restored it. Please note that it needs to have reliable sources and needs to establish that this is a notable topic. Please see Wikipedia:Notability (high schools) for the relevant notability guideline. As it stands now, the article likely would not survive a nomination for deletion. --B (talk) 15:06, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
Bentley Jones
The 2nd discussion regarding the deletion of the article lacks any opposition, based solely on the unanimous uninformedness of the partakers of said discussion. My argument is parallel to that of DolphinBlueUK's in the initial deletion nomination, in that Bentley Jones does indeed possess a vast presence in many online communities, and is exceedingly successful in Japan. Moreover, a source cleanup should be in order, as the fact that the sources are primarily to his blog is understandably an issue. -24.16.165.217 (talk) 17:15, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Desmond Tardy
reasoning -128.210.2.34 (talk) 14:15, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Specific inconsistencies need to be rectified...
This article was linked to by several other articles such as from Ryan Baker (American football) and various Purdue Football season log/history articles (for which most of the links have since been removed). The primary link of concern is from Mr. Football Award (Indiana) for which several of the other players listed as recipients of that honor, who have no greater notability, have not had their respective articles deleted. If Desmond Tardy must remain permanently deleted then several of the other Mr. Football Award (Indiana) recipients should also be deleted for consistency in the application of the Notability in Wikipedia policies. Either restore this article and the subsequent links, or delete the respective articles of the other recipients of the award such as Morgan Newton and/or Darren Evans who have no greater notability than Desmond Tardy. There were no external article references listed on the original wikipedia article for Desmond Tardy outside of the Purdue Player Bio since the online articles for the award from that year (and previous years for that matter) have since been taken down from the newspaper's website, namely The Indianapolis Star that is the primary sponsor of the award. NOTE: The MR. Football award is the highest award for a single player in Indiana High School Football as it is voted on by all Indiana high school football coaches.
Either restore this article or delete the other equally notable/unnotable articles concerning the recipients of the Mr. Football award. (Some of the other recipients of the award are of greater notability and should NOT be deleted though!) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.210.2.34 (talk • contribs)

- Is it Alex cantrall · ( talk | logs | links | watch ) · [revisions]? The reason the deleting admin gave was "blatant hoax". Probably the deleting admin looked at the first sentence (he was born and raised in "Future World") and stopped reading. The article as it stands is not appropriate for Wikipedia for a number of reasons - it's way too heavy on name dropping. If the claims it makes are true, he would seem to be notable, but this article would need to be rewritten from scratch, not created by his press agent. List of wars in the Muslim world
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:NuclearWarfare/Archive_24#List_of_wars_in_the_Muslim_world http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_in_the_Muslim_world
Hi Admin, I am writing to you in regards to the deleted page List_of_wars_in_the_Muslim_world, which was present till last year, and it was really interesting. However on searching for it recently, I was shcoked that it was deleted. So I read the discussion and reasoning behind this in this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_wars_in_the_Muslim_world and I found that you took the discion according to discussion. However the reasoning that was given in support for deletion was that the definition of Muslim world is ambiguos and can't be defined, which I don't know if it is true or false. However I do know one thing: Consistency. which means it is wither to delete all pages talking about Muslim world, cause according to the forementioned discussion that this world doesn't exist and that such term is not present like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muslim_world, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_in_medieval_Islam, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Golden_Age and all these pages talking about Muslim world. Or the other option is to restore the deleted page List_of_wars_in_the_Muslim_world as a part of the history of this Muslim world. Wikipedia can't be so biased that it only speak nice about muslim world, yet deleting the bloody history claiming that such world doesn't exist!. Thank you
to summarize why the article was originally deleted: there is nothing called muslims world as it can't be defined
this claim is biased because several other WP articles keep talking about the same so called muslim world
I would suggest: either delete all muslim world pages, or restore that list of wars articles
thank you-Kushsinghmd (talk) 02:42, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

There are some similarities in some practices, but such similarities are very common among many martial arts. for example NEARU has many trainings in common with Chinese Tai Chi Chuan. NEARU is registered as a martial arts organizations and a descriptive page in Wikipedia could help others to know a little more about this style. -Farzad Ghanei (talk) 11:41, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Not done - please read the deletion discussion again. The basis (in fact, the rationale of every single person who participated) was lack of notability and verifiability because "A search for reliable sources has failed to support the subject's notability"; "I find no independent sources that indicate this art is notable"; etc. Also please note that articles deleted via deletion discussions are not undeleted through this page, ever. This page is only for uncontroversial undeletions (and userfying content); articles deleted via discussion can only be undeleted by requesting it of the administrator who deleted the page, and if that is unavailing, through deletion review.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:50, 4 July 2010 (UTC)

- Wikipedia generally considers a topic to be notable if there are multiple reliable sources of information about the topic, which are independent of the subject itself. Has Daniel Olsen received any media coverage? If not, he likely does not meet our guideline for inclusion of articles about musicians. --B (talk) 14:19, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
- Also, regarding the first deletion as a copyright violation, even if he is notable, and even if the text from the external website was suitable for verbatim use here, the copyright would have to be released into the public domain or under Wikipedia's free licenses: the GFDL and CC-BY-SA, for you to use this text here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The upshot is that for us to use the material—which means allowing our users to use it and modify it even for commercial purposes—we have to have a verified release of the material—not just an assertion by you that you own it and are freely licensing it. Please look specifically at the section of the page I linked entitled Granting us permission to copy material already online.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 19:26, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

You want to be a free encyclopedia, but when somebody start a biography you censure it by deleting it What is there free on, it looks more like dictatorship
- Ah, you missed the part about this being an encyclopedia. Wikipedia is a privately owned encyclopedia project. It is free to read and to use but it is not a democracy, or an anarchy, or an experiment in free speech; it is not many other things. We most certainly do restrict freedom and openness where they interfere with creating an encyclopedia. The policies and guidelines we have developed to foster that goal keep us from being a blog, a web forum, or a place where anyone can post anything, regardless of its encyclopedic merit. Some of these core policies and guidelines include verifiability, no original research, neutral point of view, and notability and so that we are not overwhelmed with articles that do not meet these and other policies, we have criteria for speedy deletion, and especially relevant here, section A7 of that page. If you want an article to stick, post it with, at the least, one reliable source that verifies its content. Note also that you have an obvious conflict of interest in writing articles about yourself and those you are associated with, and I personally would be ashamed to be here protesting over "censorship" when I was attempting self-aggrandizement.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 20:59, 5 July 2010 (UTC)

Deletion was done prematurely without any responses to the following:(1) comparision of Robert Skidelksy's Scopus h index with JGH's (2) No response to the argument that the Harzing h index is more appropriate to use in this case rather than the Scopus h index (3) No response to the point that using the Scopus h index is inappropriate and misleading given that JGH is a literary biographer and ethicist, as well as an academic economist. It is completely inappropriate to cut off this debate when no one addressed any of these issues. Keith Garner
We are most confused. My page was put up for further discussion as to whether it should be deleted. I was told this was for seven days and it was deleted before the close of seven days. Someone picked up the fact that my wife was editing this - I think assuming she was a paid member of staff which of course she is not, but she does have a Wesley Mission Address as the provide my computer and line etc. We had considered asking an independent person who offered to do this - and that is where we are at present. We had not thought it would be deleted and certainly not when we had been told there was a time factor (which was contravened by yourselves). Consensus is something that we in the Uniting Church know something about - and the talk page may show a simple majority but hardly a consensus, especially as one person not known to me talked about the newspaper, television and radio publicity somewhere in the recent past. Can you please reconsider this issue, bearing in mind that alterations are likely in the near future? It would at least help my extreme disappointment at this decision. So many people use the entry when trying to find out information and it is most helpful to have the entry in Wikipedia. We are not experts at this and are simply trying to find a way of meeting your requirements. When I contacted the person for re-listing it, he simply pointed me to articles and told me it would be relisted for seven days from last Monday. It was deleted on Thursday night. Thank you for your attention to this. -WorthingtonJones (talk) 02:53, 9 July 2010 (UTC)
