Ugh. So this appears to be yet another meat farm. Creating Gondya Ala Re as Gondya Ala Re (web series) along with an influx of other sock like accounts creating a bunch of other ZEE Network spam (particularly this recreation too.)   •  Clerk endorsed - I am fairly convinced that, of these, at least Shardblack is an ArthurCurry sock (their version of "It Happened in Calcutta" is substantially similar to past versions). The others I'm iffy on - KevinThomas is currently blocked as part of a different SPI, and Permanupedia/ShakleHakiSuoreme/MambaRossa all recreated previously deleted articles but the content isn't substantially similar. Given the amount of socking and meatpuppetry around Zee5, though, I think it's justified to check those accounts against each other and look for sleepers. I am explicitly not endorsing a check of TamilMirchi - they do not match the pattern of ArthurCurry socks (past socks are fairly low-edit, this editor has almost as many as I do and has only been editing for six months!), the pages they created aren't substantially similar, and in general I want much stronger evidence before accusing them of socking. These IDs creating and editing around ZEE shows. Shivaniamin creates articles in draftspace and Charliefassos101 moves them to mainspace [5][6][7] Satishkumar07 has only created and edited articles linked to ZEE [8][9][10][11] and so has Charliefassos101. requesting to perform a CU as there seems to be more accounts involved. Recreated Rama Sakkani Seetha which was created by prior sock and deleted. Focuses heavily on tv shows on Zee (and related). Uses the same terrible sources [12] as [prior sock User:Madhurishree05/sandbox, looking at tvserialinfo.com which is an obviously terrible source.   • For some background to whomever does the CU, one of the socks was MohammedS2221 and another was WhyHigh12. Mohammed declared on his user page that he had been paid by Digital Times on behalf of Zee5. Just noting that for future reference. Vinod130 is cranking out about an article or more per day lately. Many of them are Zee TV related. He's up to about 34 created articles so far. Of them,
    • Ninne Pelladatha (TV series), created by Vinod130, was previously created by WhyHigh12
    • Radhamma Kuthuru, created by Vinod130, was previously created by GlowingSnakeHead, a CU identified sock of ArthurCurry70.
    • Rama Sakkani Seetha, created by Vinod130, was previously created by MohammedS2221 and also edited by WhyHigh12
    • Vadinamma, created by Vinod130, was previously created by Captain Calm, who was a sock of someone. Not sure if it means anything. I see a number of intersections of this user with Captain Calm and CuteMeow, another problematic user. Might not be noteworthy.
    • Bangaru Gajulu (TV series), created by Jjgahge9, was previously created by GlowingSnakeHead.

AP2215 has also edited Draft:Mum Bhai and the second iteration of Lahore Confidential, both of which are being worked by the ArthurCurry70 sockfarm. This is not an open-and-shut case like the other two. They have the same interest in Indian TV, but there are millions of TV sets in India. Request an examination of the duck feathers. All of these accounts are  Possible to each other and  Unlikely to ArthurCurry70 socks in the archive. They're all using different networks and devices but located in the same large city. @Þjarkur: You're right that it's not a perfect recreation, and oddly enough, that makes me even more suspicious in this case, like they've deliberately deviated from the previous draft. Some observations:

  • They include a soundtrack section in a TV article. That's a weird choice. Formatting different between the two versions.
  • They both include "Versions" sections, which is oddly non-specific. In this section are tables indicating the names and run dates of versions of the series in different languages. In the new article, the new editor chose to order them non-chronologically versus the deleted version, where they're ordered chronologically. They both have the same unsourced start dates and use the same reference for the one show that is sourced. Now it's possible this table was copied from one of the other show articles.
  • They have the same running time estimate of "approx. 22-25mins". If different editors created this article, they might have made a different decision, like 22 mins, 25 mins, or split the difference and indicated 23 mins.
  • In |theme_music_composer= they both add the odd subheading "Re-recording". What a strangely specific thing to include.

So, while dissimilar, there are some odd similarities. Having a CU check against Vinod1130 might be warranted, along with a sleeper check, so I'm adding Vinod's name to the top and flagging for a closer look. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:42, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • TeluguWikieditor and Vinod1130 are  Likely to one another. Same IP address with different user agents. This person is likely using a workstation for one account and their phone for the other.     RoySmith - A lot of IP addresses came back when I ran these users. The IP that I found that both of them used didn't come back with many accounts, but some.   •  Clerk note: indef/tagged Telegu, but I have a vague suspicion that this is some larger meat farm rather than socking per-se (i.e. one specific person controlling multiple accounts). Early on in the case history, most of the positive CU results were confirmed matches. Starting with 21 September 2020, we're not seeing even accounts within a given day's group confirmed to each other. This could potentially be a big pain in the arse, because it involves several drafts and multiple sock candidates.

So clearly these accounts are all entwined in promotional editing, likely UPE, and they are very entwined with the ArthurCurry70 sockfarm. Like previous socks, this account recreates articles about Zee Telugu-language television shows, often using slightly different titles to evade detection. Take the blocked sockpuppet Vinod1130 (note the username similarity):

That's an awful lot to chalk up to coincidence, particularly since Vinodgund is a new account with fewer than 500 edits. The accounts in the archives are stale, but I'm requesting CU since sleeper checks have been productive in the past. Re LakshamReddy72: there's not a lot to go off of (the account only has 54 edits), but the account's very first edits were to Aadade Aadharam, which is a fairly low-traffic article that had been edited by two previous socks (TeluguWikieditor and Vinod1130). That's a good point regarding edit summaries, Tamzin—I hadn't noticed that. I get the impression from the archives that this case is less sockpuppetry and more meatpuppetry, and indeed a previous account admitted to being a member of a "team" of ZEE employees. My guess would be that LakshamReddy72 is a separate person who also works for ZEE, which would explain both the overlap and the distinctive edit summaries. I'm not quite seeing a case for a meatpuppetry block at the moment (particularly since, despite the overlap, this account doesn't seem to be coördinating directly with any others), but perhaps I'm using a bit too much AGF here.
