Suspected sockpuppets

The suspected sockpuppeteer, Christine Kato, asked a question at the Teahouse yesterday asking to get her page published. The page in question, User:Christine Kato/sandbox was speedily deleted under criterion G11 and the account was blocked, with the last edit being made at 12:59 on 13 April 2020. This account (Mylo1994) made their first edit at 13:33 on 13 April 2020 and a new article on the same subject (Draft:Christine Kato) was created.

Aside from an interest in creating an article about the same subject, they behave identically on talk pages. In addition to the replies given on the now-deleted User talk:Christine Kato/sandbox, Both Mylo1994 and the blocked user use the same style when replying; consider Christine Kato's use of

  • I don't think the writing styles of the above quotes are similar enough to constitute solid behavioral evidence. However, it's clear that they're both exclusively interested in Christine Kato, and the suspected sock was created a day after the main account was blocked. I don't have magic admin goggles to check, but I'll take Tenryuu's word for it that the sandbox and draft are extremely similar. The main account's talk page comments suggest that they were considering (or had already sought out) paid editing to get their article published, so UPE/meatpuppetry is also possible (if CU comes back negative). Personally, I think there's enough here to block even without CU evidence. creffett (talk) 19:04, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
