Fernando-the-King

Suspected sockpuppets

Fernando-the-King was blocked indefinitely on 15 August due to vandalism (also through IP 111.92.24.111), while the user FernandoMaestro registered on 26 August. Their name is similar, and I found some identical fictitious tables in their sandboxes, e.g. User:Fernando-the-King/Sandbox5#3001 and User:FernandoMaestro/Sandbox3001#Results. I also noticed that IP 111.92.15.207 committed several vandalisms (e.g. this one) and also edited a page that was edited also by FernandoMaestro, as you can see from MasterChef (US season 4) history. In addition, looking at their contributions it seems that Fernando-the-King and FernandoMaetro usually edit in car and motorcycle racing season pages, e.g. 2013 British Supersport Championship season. Self-endorsed for CU. Confirmed Fernando-the-King and FernandoMaestro. There is a lot of logged-out editing, but the range is too busy for a rangeblock. Materialscientist (talk) 05:08, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

[edit]

The two accounts may be related as their behaviour share several elements with the indefinitely-blocked Fernando-the-King's modus operandi: exactly as Fernando and other previous socks have done, they alternate acceptable edits with blatant vandalism (e.g. at Amy Schumer or Wayne Rooney), including 'hijacking' of articles through redirects (e.g. at Lewis Hamilton by Spainwanes76 and old sock BoomBoomPoow); in addition, Beerssires has created several sandboxes of the same kind Fernando-the-King and later sock FernandoMaestro used to have (motorsport results tables with some fictional names). As the Spainwanes76 account was registered in 2014, it is plausible that there are more dormant socks as well as unlogged activity from the 111.92. range. Some diffs were included above but at request here are more:

I was probably misled by the fact that obviously Fernando-the-King can't be technically checked and so I used one of the recent accounts as sockmaster. I hope there is no problem to move this SPI in case another location is found to be more appropriate. –Gpmat (talk) 09:47, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Additional information needed - @Gpmat:  Additional information needed. In order to facilitate and expedite your request, please provide diffs to support your case. Please give two or more diffs meeting the following format:
  1. At least one diff is from the sockmaster (or an account already blocked as a confirmed sockpuppet of the sockmaster), showing the behaviour characteristic of the sockmaster.
  2. At least one diff per suspected sockpuppet, showing the suspected sockpuppet emulating the behaviour of the sockmaster given in the first diff.
  3. In situations where it is not immediately obvious from the diffs what the characteristic behaviour is, a short explanation must be provided. Around one sentence is enough for this. Vanjagenije (talk) 08:21, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
