Brand new, 10-edit account. Hardly broken in. Yet, his edits 7, 8. 9. and 10 on Augustine of Hippo (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) restore the identical unsourced cruft the master and previous sock keep adding to the article. Oh, and before I forget, the sock's username Mig4105; M stands for Mark, I for Imanuel, G, you know what I mean.  Sounds like a duck quacking into a megaphone to me. Where can I start? From the alphanumeric username? Or the usual cruft of the Granados socks? No matter, this latest WP:FOWLPLAY incident involves all the hallmarks of the LTA Granados sockfarm: St. Constantine, St. Helena (current sock vs. St. Helena blocked sock Granados 4105 on same article), the usual Saint cruft attributes, in the expected articles. Identical mode of editing by littering the history of articles with a large number of frequent, successive, edits.  Sounds like a duck quacking into a megaphone to me. Similar edits to master. Usual cruft on saint attributes and patronage. 14illenium was created on 5 January 2019, while 15gryffin was created on 10 January 2019. All edits of 14illenium were made on 5 January 2019 and all of them were followed on 10 January 2019 by 15gryffin.  Sounds like a duck quacking into a megaphone to me. There are strong indications that Kabisig and Midnightkid are one and the same editor. Not only do their edit histories almost perfectly overlap (Cavite, Ellen Organ, Noveleta, etc and that overlap with the original sockpuppeteer), but the near verbatim edits of this and this are a strong indicator IMO. Midnightkid also appeared right after 1054AD was apparently blocked for being a sockpuppet of the Mark Imanuel Granados, continuing the edits on 2015 kidnapping and beheading of Copts in Libya and other pages. Introduction

On 11 June FyzixFighter opened an investigation on this account, now archived at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Mark_Imanuel_Granados/Archive#11_June_2020. The investigation was closed due to a delay in providing additional information. I have since discovered additional edits by this account which I consider the smoking gun.

These accounts and IPs largely follow the same editing pattern both in articles and types of edits. Here are some examples:

  • Paulrader24 restores most of previous sock edits to Noveleta, for example:
  • Emiliolorenzo567 restores Henrywelch268's edits
  • Both IPs have made the same edit (here, here, and here to Aurora Quezon pushed by previous sock Henrywelch268 (see here)
  • IPs tend to make the same edits as other previous socks including inappropriate capitalization, adding additional "titles" to saint infoboxes, etc
  • anon119 manually reverted (here) edit by previous sock 1054AD here

I realize the registered user accounts have been dormant for about a week, but most recent activity (and there's been a lot) has been on the two IPs. CU requested only on the registered accounts if possible, and to identify any registered (non-IP) sleeper sock accounts, given the user's propensity for sock creation. I think the best evidence is the repeated attempt to upload "File:Blessed Carlo Acutis.jpg" to Wikimedia Commons (see logs at [5]) - all previous attempts were by other socks of this user (Communion of Saints). This user has also added the unneeded saint infobox to Élisabeth of France ([6]), which has also been added by the IP socks 119.93.56.157 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) ([7]) and 124.105.196.16 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) ([8]). Both of these IPs were temporarily blocked in the last round of sock blocks, and immediately returned to the same behavior of pushing the same edits when that block expired. Both of the IP socks (124.105.196.16 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and 119.93.56.157 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)) from previous reports have returned within a month to making the same edits on a variety of Catholic-related articles (see restoring an image previously pushed by an identified sock). The IPs and this new potential sock have all been adding an unneeded infobox to Élisabeth of France ([9], [10], and [11]). I know that the CU data for the previous socks is 6 months old and therefore stale, but requesting CU to identify other registered sock accounts (I'm pretty sure there's evidence for one over on Commons - don't know if it's been used over here yet). This latest sock is restoring reverted edits by known IP socks used by the sockpuppetteer ((124.105.196.16 (talk · contribs · WHOIS)), for example [12], [13], [14], and so on. I'm requesting a CU to identify any sleepers given the past history. The latest sock has also been active on Commons, uploading images with questionable copyright licenses, so I would also request a global block if warranted (this has been done for some of the previous socks) and a temporary block on the previously mentioned IP sock. The most telling is the repetition of the same "venerated" sentence added to the lede of various articles with the same improper punctuation (ending the previous sentence with a comma and not a period) as seen here, here, and here. Also, over on Commons has re-uploaded twice deleted images (for copyvio and license misrepresentation) that were uploaded by previous socks. Requesting a checkuser given the prolific nature of this LTA sockpuppeteer. Also requesting a global block due to behavior over on Commons to prevent further uploading of copyrighted images.
