Disruptive edits, usually reverted by other users. Same obsession for changing automotive vehicles segmentation, despite multiple explations from WikiProject Automobiles members. Also, the 3 accounts are editing this draft : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Compact_crossover_SUV

A good example of the issue can be found here (between the 15 January and today) https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=SEAT_Ateca&action=history

WP:DUCK Behaviourally, puppet is continuing the exact same pattern of edits as the blocked master: editing articles about cars primarily to change their photos and size classes. A review of respective diffs will show a clear pattern; here are some examples:

Also note concerns by other users: [1]; [2].

The username is a nice touch, I'll give them that. Dorsetonian (talk) 19:12, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Vann94 user account, which was created on March 3 (about the same time as the MrDavr socks were blocked), has edited extensively in the area of car sizes and images. In particular, Vann94 even refers to car sizes in centimeters to determine if a vehicle is mid-size, full-size, etc. These are exactly the kind of edits done by sockpuppeteer MrDavr. Here are some diffs:

Per previous behavioural issues, this one is a little less clear-cut because of fewer contributions but: [8] - arguing about size classification, and [9] working on a draft started by MrDavr. Dorsetonian (talk) 10:52, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Very few edits so far so not much to go on, but this does appear to be the return of MrDavr: signature picture and size classification changes on articles about cars. Picture: [10]; size classification: [11]. Dorsetonian (talk) 17:09, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, [12] is just redoing another of their sock's work [13]. Dorsetonian (talk) 17:14, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

WP:DUCK, yet again. Mossi510 car size classifications changes: [17], [18] Vyern: [19], [20]. Note also the change to 4x4 "as British" common to each of them. Is there any action to stop all these new socks popping up as soon as one is blocked? Dorsetonian (talk) 15:13, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Note: I have added Jzizz2025 to the list, after the CU was requested. They are also changing size classifications and pictures, e.g.: [21], [22]. Dorsetonian (talk) 07:21, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This account, which had not edited since September, has made this edit to Lexus LS which makes the same change of car classification as another of MrDavr's sock accounts in these two edits. Although the account had been dormant, it was previously making changes to car classifications exactly as MrDavr did, examples: [34] [35] [36] [37] [38] [39].

It looks like an old account which, interestingly, had not come up in CU searches for other sleepers. MrDavr's first edit was not until last December, but there is a suggestion the puppetmaster is actually DavidWittas (WP:Sockpuppet investigations/MrDavr/Archive#Clerk, CheckUser, and/or patrolling admin comments 9). If this account can be tied to either of those, might there be others which can be found? Dorsetonian (talk) 09:38, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Converted subcompact executive car from a redirect into an article, an article that has a lot of similarity to a "compact crossover SUV draft written by the sockmaster. Also the changing of images to lower-quality ones, and tampering with vehicle size classes that this user often did. The Vogue2Vogue account is registered but has only edited on Commons and Wikidata so far. Sable232 (talk) 00:02, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Appears within days of the previous socks being found and blocked. Second edit is to create an OR-filled content fork of a car classification article, which was one of MrDavr's favorite activities on Wikipedia. The other edits include a lot of messing around with images, which this user has always been fond of. The account was created on Commons and is creating another car class article there in userspace just like the previous socks. CheckUser requested because of this LTA's past use of sleeper accounts. Very similar editing pattern to ArchipelagoOcean, the most recent sock, with a lot of messing around with car images and size classifications. The account was created on Commons, as has become typical for this LTA. The account seems too familiar with Wikipedia and Commons (to the point of having favorite Wikimedia car photographers) to be a new user. Sable232 (talk) 21:25, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

From their behaviour, it appears we may have another MrDavr sock amongst us. It is less clear-cut to me than some others though I believe the similarities are enough to warrant CU to verify, e.g.:

Last sock (PageOrganiser) made this edit [40] and the identical edit was redone by Volardiculous: [41]

Many edits are to change the images on automobile articles which was typical of MrDavr, just a few examples: [42], [43], [44], [45].

However, another trait of MrDavr was to change automobile size classifations and that is not really in evidence here. The closest is this: [46]. They do, however, appear interested in the actual dimensions, e.g.: [47].

There's also a load of edits which I would regard as positive, though some do have an aparrent disregard for V, NPOV etc.: [48], [49]. Dorsetonian (talk) 15:52, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As can be seen on Volardiculous' talkpage, I also feel like this is MrDavr. What's funny is that this editor seems to have matured considerably. I have been checking some of their edits (and those of their most recent sockpuppets) and am wondering if they couldn't one day be a useful editor in good standing. Or maybe my brain has gone soft and they should just be hit with the banhammer once a week until the heat death of the universe.  Mr.choppers | ✎  14:24, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree - edits look a lot like those of the past two sockpuppets. I added an IP range that looks like it's also being used by MrDavr.

They may have matured somewhat, but I don't think their edits are on the whole productive and the continued sockpuppetry and disruption proves that they're a net negative to the project. I think there would need to be a bare minimum of six months of no socking, followed by an unblock request on their original account showing an understanding of what got them blocked and what they will change if unblocked, in order to have a chance at being unblocked. --Sable232 (talk) 16:33, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
