See history of Rajniti (2016 film). Creating same disruptive CSD tag on article. Account was created on 29 December 2015, but its first edit was made to create the same CSD tag as the IP. Reporting both for disruptive editing, but following proper procedures and creating this SPI as well. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:51, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets

Discovered the suspected sock today after he unwisely approached me to create an article on Prem Khan. This led me to poke through his edits where I found some really sketchy stuff. He appears to be on a campaign to legitimize this Indian actor. The Prem Khan article was previously deleted twice. Both times the article was created by Washim Rahman.

The first edit that Devil made was at Aisa Yeh Jahaan, which was edited a number of times in December by Washim Rahman. (I also note several other socks of Kabir Vaghela at this article, so that could wind up being the master.) There are about seven article intersections between Washim Rahman and Devil as of this SPI report.

Both Washim Rahman and Devil attempted to create Prem Khan (actor).

Washim Rahman attempted a few times to create an article on himself, to no avail. In this version, (only admins will be able to see it) he refers to himself as a film actor, and I get the sense that Washim Rahman and Prem Khan are the same actor, perhaps using a stage name? Although Stemoc commented in an AfD on Prem (film actor) that suggested Prem Khan is a fake credit.

In case it's confusing, here are the articles involved again:

Obviously there is a campaign here, and I think a CU is warranted. As noted, if it is possible to look at Kabir Vaghela as a possible master-master, that would be swell. Thanks! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:09, 4 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • My guess here is that this is a paid editing situation. Washim didn't have any article creation to his name, and this new account has created several articles. The Prem Khan thing is irritating. Kid is using Wikipedia as MySpace. Not quite sure what to do here. Given that they pasted a fully-written article as their second edit here at Wikipedia, that's strongly suggestive of sockpuppetry. How does someone get so good at writing an article with no experience? I think that Washim Rahman's data has probably gone stale, but is there any way to get a CU to look at this? User self identifies as Washim Rahman. The last SPI I submitted on this came back CU unrelated. I'm filing this SPI so there's new data on him. User also edits while logged out, typically from IPv6 geolocating to the Indian state of Assam, ISP: Jio. User has identified himself as being from Assam in the city of Guwahati. Indeffed, tagged, closing. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:54, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've indeffed Muktibhawan as a proven sockpuppet of Washim Rahman, for self-identifying as Washim Rahman. User re-created an article on Prem Khan (previously salted) at Prem Khan (Indian actor). "Washim Rahman" is apparently Prem Khan's true name.

After indeffing Muktibhawan, Goalpariyahero showed up at Prem Khan (Indian actor), made an edit or two, then asked Wbm1058 to move the article back over the salted Prem Khan spot. It's also worth noting that in February, as one of his first edits, Goalpariyahero requested that the salted article be unprotected so he could re-build an article.

IPs used. They all geolocate to the Indian stae of Assam, and they're all on ISP: Jio.

I'm hoping that someone can confirm that Goalpariyahero is socking and also look for any additional accounts. Thanks. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:05, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Another IP 2405:204:B089:9F76:5155:723C:B762:9165 geo located Australia just removed the prod template from previous sock Muktibhawan's article. It looks like they are using some kind of VPN services. I just tagged some articles created by Muktibhawan for deletion and was wondering why we can't mass delete his all articles under G5? Thank you – GSS (talk|c|em) 06:13, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not quite clear on this and could use more experienced admin opinions: if G5 precludes us from deleting so long as there are significant edits from other users, do we first have to prove that all of the "significant" editors are socks? And would we consider normal maintenance edits as significant? I personally would not care if I came along to a sock article, did a bunch of cosmetic crap, like formatting the infobox, and fixing templates and rewording the lead, and someone deleted it under G5. However, I'm not sure how others would feel. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:23, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
This is exactly what I can see in his articles, most of his articles are edited by blocked user(s) and ip's they use. I dont see any significant edits by other users apart from general fixing and most of his articles don't even meet our standard of notability. There is no doubt that Axomiya deka is not connected to this farm per his edit history and userpage. GSS (talk|c|em) 08:06, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Cyphoidbomb: Did you notice his contribution in other languages? Here are the articles created by Axomiya deka and edited by the same ip range and Goalpriyahero in other languages as:প্ৰেম খান and bn:প্রেম খান both reads Prem Khan. GSS (talk|c|em) 08:36, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bbb23 can you please take care of this newly registered user Monuwara who just tried to trick Bearcat by creating Prem Khan (indian actor and then requested a page move to Prem Khan. Thank you – GSS (talk|c|em) 15:53, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, what Monuwara actually did was admin-shop by making the same request of several administrators — I just happened to be the one who was present at the time to see and look into the request and catch the problem. But I agree that the user should probably be sockchecked. Bearcat (talk) 16:01, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Muktibhawan and Goalpariyahero are  Confirmed to each other. Blocked Goalpariyahero without tags. No other accounts seen.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:32, 30 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bbb23, any chance you could compare against Axomiya deka (talk+ · tag · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · spi block · block log · CA · CheckUser(log· investigate · cuwiki) as well? They popped up to dispute the speedy deletion of Prem Khan, but there is a super-obvious identical-ness between their user page and Muktibhawan's. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 04:36, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comparing to the last two I confirmed, Axomiya deka is between  Unlikely and  Possible. He's editing from the same city and using the same ISP. However he never uses the same (or even similar) user agents and is pretty consistent with the few he uses. I suspect Muktibhawan may have copied the style of his userpage from Axomiya deka's; I've seen editors do that. It's also possible they know each other, although they claim they go to different schools..--Bbb23 (talk) 13:22, 1 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Monuwara (talk · contribs · count) is  Unlikely.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:36, 9 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Just adding a note here to advise that although Monuwara was deemed unlikely to be a sockpuppet, they have now still been blocked on other grounds — even after they were advised that creating the desired article at an overdisambiguated title and then asking an administrator to move it overtop the salted redlink, is not the appropriate way to get a desired article into Wikipedia, they continued to do it anyway. Bearcat (talk) 08:00, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Creation of Prem Khan (indian actor), yet another circumvention of salting.
  • Note also that this article was created in one edit with fleshed out citations, which is quite the accomplishment for a brand-new user.

Since Prem Khan and Washim Rahman are the same person (Khan apparently is the guy's screen name or whatever) I think it's worth checking him against previous socks. There has been a minor flare-up of Prem Khan promotion recently. Note YoMehboob, who I recently blocked as a suspected sock for seemingly being here solely to stuff this guy's name in articles, like here: [2][3] The annoying thing is that this guy is probably going to be notable, but the years of moronic promotional socking is just ethically irritating. Prem Khan spamming: new article PREM KHAN with all-caps title, probably because earlier articles like Prem Khan have been protected following re-creations after a deletion discussion; and various recent edits: [4][5][6] Largoplazo (talk) 10:57, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So this might be a little beansy but let's start with the most obvious. Several attempts to recreate variations of Prem Khan 1, 2 (among others) and following the same pattern of the last few socks with the user page. ie. Hi I am... example of previous sock. Also when looking at the filter log for several of these named socks, they almost always attempt to create the same article in similar title and are all hitting the content translation edit filter. Yet another attempt to create Prem Khan (Film actor) under Prem Khan (film actor). NazmulMusic was registered in February and his second edit was to hijack Prem. As pointed out by Chrissymad in previous case, NazmulMusic's first edit creating his user page is exactly same as some previous socks e.g. this and this. GSS (talk|c|em) 14:20, 4 June 2018 (UTC) (updated 16:15, 4 June 2018 (UTC))[reply]

NazmulMusic also created articles on the same subject in a number of other languages too, so I believe they should be globally locked for long-term and extensive cross-wiki abuse, please see wikidata:Q30335976. Thank you GSS (talk|c|em) 08:25, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
