Wikipedia:Suspected copyright violations/2011-12-26

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  • Article blanked for evaluation and closure through WP:CP. Editor claims user-submitted Yahoo Answers content is not copyrighted, I can't find any evidence to support this claim. Hut 8.5 12:06, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The article has copied a few sentences from the source, which is some kind of UN press release. I think this is in the public domain but I'm not sure. Hut 8.5 13:34, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • No copyright concern. Material PD or appropriately licensed for use. Source tagged as Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License and the GNU Free Documentation License. Hut 8.5 13:01, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is an attributed split. I cannot prove that we copied this from them, and since they are an illegal ripping site think it's every bit as likely they took it from us. I spot-checked other content added by that same contributor, and so far everything I've found is to an illegal video ripping site. I'm taking no action. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 20:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Cut-and-paste move, no history worth merging as one editor was the only significant editor on both pages. Hut 8.5 16:06, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
