Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Mixed up everything
I do not understand why there is such problem accepting this band article and their album article as legitimate. They are swiftly gaining mainstream attention, have been interviewed by and covered by reputable websites and newspapers. the band Sven Gali (which i recently contributed to) did not have any references to Billboard.com and yet the album pages i created for them were accepted so why is there any grounds to delete these pages? what is the purpose to create any band page or album then for that matter?
- Wikipedia requires subjects to be notable and backed up by reliable sources which feature significant in depth coverage. Just because something else is in mainspace doesn't mean it should be. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 17:21, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
- There's a big difference between Sven Gali, who have had chart placings, gold discs, and nominations for the most prestigious music awards in their home country, and this band, who at the moment have only had a couple of newspaper articles and no lasting legacy. so, what your saying is that this band, despite having recognition and future dates in the works to play alongside bands such as The offspring and No Doubt, having received endorsements from Wincent Drumsticks (which has given endorsements to Mikkey Dee (Motorhead, Scorpions) and Mike Mangini (Dream Theatre, Extreme)) is not worthy of having an article for fans to consult for facts and activity history on the band. Official reputable newspapers have been cited which are based in Australia (which is an English speaking country) are not good enough? Why is the Dailymail not accepted as reputable? That media source is based in England and after speaking with several people connected with that publication, it has been made clear to me that it is indeed a reputable source that is accepted in that country. I'm sorry if I'm being too aggressive here, but there seems to be a common theme here that states if the band does not have mainstream media coverage that is based in the United States then they are not worth having an article here. The issue of having this band listed here was brought up by someone who said "they aren't even covered on Billboard" which only serves to prove my point. Thank you and I hope that we can see each other in a positive light and are currently simply trying to resolve a current issue. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derricklasaga (talk • contribs) 16:01, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
