Wikipedia talk:Requests for comment/Mmarque

I haven't participated in an RFC about an editor before, and am unclear as to where I should post my thoughts. The "Response" section says that it is reserved for the opinions and views of the user whose conduct is disputed, and the "Additional views" section says that it is for users who are not directly involved with the dispute. I am not the user whose content is disputed, and, as the target of some of the comments in question, I am directly involved with the dispute. There doesn't seem to be an appropriate section for me to post in. Someone please advise, and let's fix what seems to be a glaring omission in this process. Per WP:BURO (not quite marked historical ;-), I wouldn't mind too much about where you comment. If there are strong opinions by some party about that detail, you can always move the comment. --Stephan Schulz (talk) 09:08, 21 October 2012 (UTC)

This procedure is also something completely new to me. I don't object to JBL's inclusion of my signature here as an endorsement as I did explicitly make the complaint on Mmarque's talk page. In fact I endorse it much more wholeheartedly in JBL's defense - I think what Mmarque did apparently looking up JBL's personal status, listing it, and attacking him on that basis was much worse than the off-handed ad hominems that seemed directed my way. In general I would be with Phil Bridger and just brush off ad hominem's - in fact there was another one on the same page from User:Tillman that seemed something of an attack on me - at the least it linked to a completely false attack on me by another individual that was quite off topic for the discussion. Tillman himself has a long history of commenting on climate blogs of which he has made no mention in his discussion on the AfD page, so the fact that he brought up a very biased incident from my own history I found both unwarranted and somewhat offensive. But really not worthy of any response especially as it seemed quite isolated. Mmarque however has been very persistent in personalizing attacks, and even posted JBL and my complaints about his behavior to that same AfD page. I don't want to make a bigger deal of this than needed, but Mmarque's behavior clearly seems to be against wikipedia policy there. ArthurPSmith (talk) 13:34, 23 October 2012 (UTC)

Proposed closure

Being that the user in question has not posted since early November (and even then only minorly) I propose that this RfC/U be closed as "Too Soon". No other methods of conduct resolution have taken place and there appears to be no persistent issue beyond the remarks in 1 AfD. As such I intend to close it 7 days from 21:46, 3 December 2012 (UTC) with that reasoning. Any Objections? Hasteur (talk) 21:46, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
