混成詞（英語：Portmanteau）是英語中，由兩個或以上詞語或詞語的一部分混合而成的詞語或詞素，使之意義混合。A folk usage of portmanteau refers to a word that is formed by combining both sounds and meanings from two or more words （例如 ，「animatronics」（電子動畫技術）源自「animation」(動畫)和「electronics」(電子)）. 混成詞一般是新詞. One of the most well-known examples is cyborg（生化人）, a term which is commonly used to refer to a cybernetic organism生物.

• Plenty of Pokémon names are portmanteaus. For example, Bulbasaur is a portmanteau of bulb and dinosaur, Charmander is a portmanteau of char and salamander, and Squirtle is a portmanteau of squirt and turtle.
• Actor-turned-California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. One of his nicknames, "The Governator" is a combination of "governor" and "Terminator".
