Deletion

Why did you delete my latest edits, again? After I followed your directions? Is there anyone I can contact that can serve as mediator because I think you’re not being helpful. LebaneseBebe (talk) 11:33, 25 March 2018 (UTC) LebaneseBebe (talk) 11:33, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@LebaneseBebe: Hi I have sent you a message on this, maybe you have not come around to read it and here is again as below
You have removed sourced content and added yours in (second paragraph). see here [1]. Your citing is incorrect as you just copy and paste the URL into the content. To cite is to provide verification - see here wikipedia:V, once you have read how to cite source, then do it again. Secondly, the removal of content was because there have no source and Wikipedia can not be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR. Constructive edit means adhere to Wikipedia policies and guidelines which content added/edited in Wikipedia needs "inline citation" from independent (third party / secondary / tertiary) reliable source (in any language) for verification to gauge the nobility criteria is met. The articles's inline citation is the WP:BURDEN which it is on the person adding the information. Thank you.
In addition, Wikipedia would used secondary source for citing - See WP:SOURCE and dictionary is primary source - see Wikipedia:Dictionaries as sources.
Do read all the links I provided to you for you to familiar on how to edit in Wikipedia, as it will be helpful to you. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:20, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
no I am talking about the most recent edits I made that were reverted to your version. LebaneseBebe (talk) 16:51, 25 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@LebaneseBebe: Your edit as mentioned above - see here [2], the first half use dictionary as source but the second half of sentence was without source. And your most recent 4 edits were reverted by other editor and hope this message reach you when you are back from being (edit warring) blocked. Thank you. Moving articles to draft

Sir, what is the problem of this articles? Are there links in the articles? If there are any problems in articles, you can edit to improve and please move back it into former positions.Path slopu (talk) 15:51, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Path slopu: Greetings. You have asked the same questions at least 3 times now and I have already answered you in your talk page and my talk page. However, it seems you dont read the message and the links I sent you. I saw you have moved the pages to main space. Please note that by being moved the page back to the main space doesnt not mean the articles are published as they need to be reviewed by patroller. I am one of the new page patroller and I moved your articles back to as the articles do not deem satisfactory at the moment because "all the articles are written without any incline citations/independent source - note official page is NOT independent source". Content added/edited need to DIRECTLY SUPPORTED BY RELIABLE INDEPENDENT SOURCE and the articles's inline citation is the WP:BURDEN which it is on the person adding the information. Just as in writing a term / research paper in university, all content in the paper need to cite with source and not only the writer mere words and it is the same with Wikipedia for the content need to be verify by source and not by editor own interpretation. Even the editor information is 100% correct, it is STILL needs source to support it and they is no other way around it.
To move the page back to draft is for you to further develop the article and in this case is adding the source, so it would avoid a propose for deletion of the article. Do note even an article has been reviewed, it might still be subjected to be PROD (propose for deletion) if it does not meet the notability criteria. If you want help, then you should read the links sent you (they are highlighted in blue, and just click them and it will lead you to the page/section). To learn how to edit/create content in Wikipedia at times is steep learning curve as editors need to read the info provided and they are many of them. Just as if you would like a piece of your work to be published in a newspaper, you need to adhere to the newspaper's guidelines and rules.
I have sent you the info on citing and source. If you have problem to do so, then send me the source (newspaper/book) and tell me which article and which sentence in the page the source is derived from and I cite it for you so you could learn. However, most of all if you want to contribute article in Wikipedia you need to familiar yourself with all the rules, guidelines, processes and etc in Wikipedia, in another wordsyou need to listen to the editor trying to help you where they provide you the info and links and YOU NEED TO READ THEM. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:15, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, I added some sources in that articles. Please check it and please tell me about it.Path slopu (talk) 07:10, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, please help me to improve that articles.Path slopu (talk) 07:12, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Path slopu:, Hi, first of all, before you write/reply a message (except the very 1st message) you added an extra ":" so the message will "right indent" to indicated the separation flow of the message within the "title subject" ( in this case the title subject is "Moving articles to draft"). You could check out Help:Wikitext for Wikicode/text for more Wiki codes for editing and communication in Wikipedia. Secondly, which article (I believe you have at least 6 of them) you have added source? Pls specify so I could have a look. If you meant Adoor Kadampanad Orthodox Diocese and the referene is this [3], then I dont see anything on the reference support the claim in the page. Secondly, you did not cite the source correctly, as you just copied and pasted the URL which is not the correct way to cite the source. Pls read my message to you and you would find the instructions and links how to do it. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:55, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, please correct the sources given by me. But, I added some sources in all articles like Kollam Orthodox Diocese. PATH SLOPU (Talk) 08:39, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Path slopu:, I have looked at the edits you made, as I mentioned in my previous message, they do NOT support what the content claim in the pages, for such I cant help you on citing. Secondly, Wikipedia can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR. I have check you contribution log, you have not visited and work on the exercises on WP:The Wikipedia Adventure as I recommended. I cant help you if you dont help yourself on reading and familiar with Wikipedia guidelines and procedures as you dont bother to read the info and links I sent you at least 3 times by now. The pages you created might not survive PROD in the future as they seem no well-covered after a brief check on the internet where their notability might not meet Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:08, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, I cited a book in that articles.(Kollam Orthodox Diocese, Kottayam Orthodox Diocese, Thumpamon Orthodox Diocese, Kottayam Central Orthodox Diocese, Kochi Orthodox Diocese). Please check it. Please help me. Thank you!----PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:32, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sir, also check the articles Adoor Kadampanad Orthodox Diocese, St. Mary's Salem Orthodox Church,Manappally, St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Avaneeswaram. Thank you.---PATH SLOPU (Talk) 12:43, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Path slopu:, I saw you input some source; however, as mentioned before Wikipedia CAN NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR, secondly, ISBN is needed for citing from book. In additional, some of the pages, you still have only primary source which does not qualify the requirement of significant source needed see WP:SIGCOV for a stand alone page in Wikipedia. Lastly, you have only gone through one exercise instead of the full program of WP:The Wikipedia Adventure - everything an editor does can be seen/found in Wikipedia. Even other patroller would review you pages and get them publish, they are mostly would not survive the PROD in the future for stand alone page in Wikipedia it needs significant cover from independent reliable source (not home/official page) and meet the notability requirements - You might want to read up [[WP:N] as I have sent several times to you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:22, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, the book that I had cited haven't ISBN. It is a 1993 editionPATH SLOPU (Talk) 04:30, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Path slopu:, Congratulations, you have gone through the WP:The Wikipedia Adventure program, and I believe now you understand the basic concept of citing, researching, linking, what constitute copyright violation, communication and among other. Well done. Also, I notice you place extra ":" before you start your message. Good work. Now back to the book ISBN, without ISBN it would be difficult for reviewer to find the book to verify the content claimed, even sometimes with ISBN, it is still difficult to find source has the info in digital format. My recommendation is to added the content (the part supported by source only) of all the pages above into Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in sub section and delete all the page as per existence so some info could be secured. By the way, 80% content in Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is unsourced and it will be removed if it stay the same after awhile. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:51, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Cassiopeia, I have contributed the text to both the Italian Wikipedia and English Wikipedia for the same entry, starting from original credited sources. Actually I have done this for other pages too, creating both pages or substantially improving the text with research from reputable sources in one wiki, then writing the other wiki. Thus, I have not translated the pages but written them in parallel in my own words, as I’m bilingual. My goal is to ensure that every notable villa and palace in Genoa has a well written entry in English and Italian, based on research. How can avoid this issue in the future? Many thanks Zenawiki (talk) 14:18, 28 March 2018 (UTC) Zenawiki (talk) 14:18, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove the tag. In this specific case, as you can see from the history of the pages, I have even written the English article of Villa delle Peschiere FIRST, then used the same sources to supplement the Italian article, which was a stub at the time. Subsequently, I have supplemented both articles with new information from other sources. Thank you Zenawiki (talk) 16:52, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

PS: I have reviewed the article and indeed the use and translation of the original sources, which are in Italian and duly cited, was not optimal. This might have created the impression that I was translating from the Italian Wiki. Well spotted, my apologies! Now I have proofread the article and learnt that making articles at night is not always a good idea :-) Zenawiki (talk) 17:28, 28 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Zenawiki: Good day. Thank you for the info above and tag removed from article and talk page. If you do so on other pages in Wikipedia and you edit first in Wiki IT, do indicated in the talk page as you need and provide link. Secondly - indicated in the edit summary you are the same author as per Wiki IT before you save. Thank you very much for contribution to Wikipedia. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:44, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Thank you, very clear. I have learnt something! Have a good day Zenawiki (talk) 05:29, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Zenawiki:, Hi, when you write on the editor talk page, you dont need to ping him/her, such as you write on my talk page, I will automatically receive a message that I have a message on my talk page on Wikipedia; however, you need to ping the editor/(s) in any other cases such in you talk page, article talk page, any other discussion page - all other places actually. Secondly, I noticed you have created from articles which you have also edited in Wiki IT, kindly leave a message on the Wiki EN article talk page as you did in Villa delle Peschiere indicating you are the authors and provide the Wiki IT version link as well. Thank you very much for doing all the work as now we have more info on building/architecture articles in Wiki EN which the content/knowledge you have provided. Thanks again and much appreciate. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:53, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I have done so, now all pages have a note in the ENWiki talk page explaining that I have contributed to both IT and EN in parallel. Noted also the use of ping. Many thanks again! Zenawiki (talk) 06:06, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Zenawiki:, Thank you Zenawiki. Appreciate your actions. I am not sure how does IT Wiki work, here is the EN Wiki's Wikitext/Wikicode for your reference - see here Help:Wikitext which would come handy for you on editing/communicating in Wiki EN and you could go to Wikipedia:Teahouse if you have any editing questions for there will be some helpful and friendly Wikipedians to assist you. Welcome to EN Wikipedia and have a good night. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:48, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message, CASSIOPEIA. I have added inline references to this article, while additional citations can also be found on the linked Wiki pages for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, as well as the BoxRec profile provided in the External links sections. Trust this is adequate. Joshmoloney (talk) 00:36, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Joshmoloney: Good day. I saw what you have added; however, "all" the content in the page need to be cited by source. I have place (citations needed) on the page where they applied and kindly provide inline citation as you did. Ping me again, once you have done with the citation and I will review the page for you. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 01:55, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Hi again, going through the citations needed in chronological order. Commonwealth Games competitor information is available in the linked Wiki from men's flyweight, however I've added 3 references. Conlan decision win and Oteng loss also cited on this Wiki. Debut citation added. Andrew Moloney information is available on his own Wiki however citation added.
@Joshmoloney:, Hi Thank you for updating the page with citations. Please note that Wikipedia can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR, secondlly, the source in men's flyweight was not updated. I have added in the associated source with inline citation on Jason Moloney and Boxing at the 2010 Commonwealth Games – Flyweight accordingly. I have moved the page to main space and have reviewed it. Thank you very much for the contribution to Wikipedia and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:10, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Signpost issue 4 – 29 March 2018

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Cassiopeia, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

Thanks for the message. Can we take one of the references and check? Can you tell me what exactly is wrong on the following one, for example?

"AZUPANE started activities", newspaper "Panorama", edition of May 5, 1976, Maracaibo, Venezuela

I would appreciate very much you help. Thanks--Isamares (talk) 08:29, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Isamares:, Good afternoon and thank you for the question above. If your source is from a major newspaper, it would consider a independent reliable source. The issue here is that you all typed your source your own way instead using Wikipedia format. If the source would be found from the internet, that would be better (the source can be from any languages), but if the source from print which most of the new pattroller like myself do not access to the info espeicially if the newspaper is written in other languagues besides English. We have to request from other Wikipedians, if they happen to have the print articles and if they do and willing to help, they will scan the print info over so we could check and verify the content is support by source.
I have sent you the info and template links - here again as below and cite them as per instruction. If your source mainly from print material, it is still ok but it will take a long time for a pattroller to review your page to get publish.
Click cite in the menu bar and fill in the info as per template:cite web
  1. citing source - see WP:Citing sources and WP:Tutorial/Citing sources
  2. citing from internet source - see WP:CITEWEB and its template -see Template: cite web
If you go to the article here (example) - click here [4] and see your citing vs this page citing. I also added some extra info in your talk page, pls check them out. Thank you CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:05, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Crab Silvers moved to Draft:Crab Silvers

Hi,

Thanks for your help! I have added inline citations, as per your recommendation.

Severian79 (talk) 18:20, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Severian79: Good morning, I just left a message at your talk page and didnt notice you had already written to me. Thank you for input the inline citations and I have moved to page to article space. However, I cant review for you as it is in a Chinese book which I dont have access. For such you have to wait for other pattroller to review your page. The backlog of new page is big, so you might have to wait a while. Thank you very much of your contribution and keep it up. Have a wonderful day. 22:20, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please can you help me with what I have to do so that the 2017-18 Jersey Premiership can be seen and not just be a draft. This is the first page I have created and I really don't know what I haven't done correctly. Thanks, Lewisbudd17 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lewisbudd17 (talkcontribs) 21:47, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Lewisbudd17:, Greetings. I had sent a message to "your talk page" with explanation, links and template where you need to cite (see WP:CITE) the source that the content claimed prior your message to me. For example "St. Paul's are the defending champions, while St. Clement and Grouville have entered as the promoted teams from the 2016-17 Jersey Championship" where is the source/reference you got from the above statement? We could not take your words for it but we need to "verify" (see WP:V the content claimed against a "reliable independent" (see WP:RS). Kindly read the message I send to you and check out all the links especially item 4 & 5 on citing. Let me know if I could help further. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 23:22, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
- Thanks, Lewisbudd17
CASSIOPEIA I've done what you said.
@McGuinessTom1941:, Thank you for providing the source and I have added a few. The page is reviewed and published. Thank you for your contribution and keep up the good good. Cheers! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:38, 31 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That was basically a fork of The Five Faces of Manfred Mann which had both the UK and US version. I don't see the need for two articles covering the same subject. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 01:56, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@CambridgeBayWeather and McGuinessTom1941:, thank you CambridgeBayWeather for informing, I saw you have redirect the page to The Five Faces of Manfred Mann. Thanks again. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:50, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I made sure to merge the material in from the new article. CambridgeBayWeather, Uqaqtuq (talk), Sunasuttuq 10:38, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@CambridgeBayWeather:, I saw. Thank you!. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:46, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cassiopeia, if I knew how to include a citation I would. I am new to editing wikipedia, and like to update pages while I continue my research. I am A Naval Historian here in Perth, Australia, and most of the data comes from my book, Liberty Call, which you can find here

http://www.hesperianpress.com/index.php/booklist/2011-06-16-08-07-49/l-titles/200-liberty-call

Hope this helps

@106.68.171.178: G'day. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for the question above. As you are new to Wikipedia, here is the general info on citing source - content added/edited in Wikipedia needs "inline citation" from independent (third party / secondary / tertiary) reliable source (in any language) for verification to gauge the nobility criteria is met. The articles's inline citation is the WP:BURDEN which it is on the person adding the information. Please note official website, records of sport events or individual player records are consider primary source and not independent source, and social network source such as facebook, twitter, instagram, imbd and etc are considered NOT reliable source and can not be used for citing. Independent reliable source are sources are those obtain from major newspaper, such as The Guardian, Sydney Morning Herald, CNN news and etc. or source obtain from major publisher of the work (for example, Random House or Cambridge University Press). Ostapenko

Hello,

You have made a mistake with regard to Jelena Ostapenko's win-loss at the Miami Open. Her record there is now 5-2, not 10-3.

Her first time playing there was last year, she lost in the first round. She won five matches this year before losing in the final.

Hence her record is now 5-2.

Qualifying matches do not count.

Please amend this accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.129.88.249 (talk) 15:01, 1 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
