Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/ConnectomeBot. WP:ELNO, WP:NOTLINK and WP:RS. Site has only been around since 9 September 2009. There are 5 registered Users (only 2 look like actual humans). Content is scrapped by Automated import of articles(via. ConnectomeBot). I expect this site will soon be riddle with adsense and advertising, monitized by leeching off wikipedia for traffic. Just another spambot. A discussion about this is at Village pump (proposals)--Hu12 (talk) 07:30, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This bot has made no contributions. Shouldn't a spam report be about spam? --IP69.226.103.13 (talk) 07:50, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unidesigner (talk · contribs) is a Single-purpose account, with no edits outside promoting "ConnectomeWiki". In fact, all his edits are "ConnectomeWiki" related, and this post identifies him as the webmaster (who is this user) which makes this a clear Conflict of interest. Since Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising and based on this users edit history, the account seems to exist for the sole and primary purpose of promoting "ConnectomeWiki" in apparent violation of Conflict of interest and anti-spam guidelines. --Hu12 (talk) 06:37, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As I've mentioned a number of times already: you haven't uncovered a conspiracy to spam. There's NO secret here. You didn't have too look for this information or accuse him of what he says he's doing. You can ask, although this would require discussion with the user, rather than talking at and about the user in multiple forums. However, he has covered all of your points in his response to this post in another WP:Forum where you posted the same thing.
I'm a single purpose account: I want scientific accuracy. I edit about the city I live in:Conflict of Interest. How many more extraneous issues are there to post on the SPAM board about this new user who politely inquired of the community about adding these links?
It's time to end this, since the user already discussed the issue with the community, answered all questions politely and directly, revealed all of his motives (clever way to uncover: ask him), and has decided against moving forward.
This should be renamed the "hate on new users board," imo. --IP69.226.103.13 (talk) 20:25, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A conflict of interest doesn't have to be "secret" to be unacceptable. A "spam-only" (or "external links to my personally owned website-only", if you prefer) account is not desirable for Wikipedia. WhatamIdoing (talk) 20:56, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if there any active links to newlawstudent.com but one or more unregistered editors has persistently tried to add it to several law-related articles in the past week or two. I think I've caught them as they've been added but the editor is ignoring all warnings and persisting in adding the link. --ElKevbo (talk) 06:05, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
