There seems to be a problem separating the actual happenings of his life and his play acting in WWF/WWE. Could someone make this distinction a bit more clear?

Height and weight

In his interview with Slam Wrestling [1] Wight's statistics are given as 7 feet 0 inches in height and 470 pounds in weight. I've seen the 470 pounds claim backed up in a few places, and his muscle mass is visibly down a bit since 2000, so it follows that his weight would have declined from the 500 pounds claimed them. Please cite a credible, preferably first-person, source for changes in this area. McPhail 18:29, 4 November 2005 (UTC)

Paul Wight's Height and Weight

On imdb.com, it says Paul Wight said in 2001 that he was 7'1". Now he claims 7'0" in the WWE. He has probably shrunk an inch, given all of that weight constantly compressing on his joints and spine. Expect further shrinking, as Andre suffered. Also, the WWE has updated his weight to 507 lbs, and that seems legit also.

WWE.com gives his height as seven foot and his weight as five hundred pounds ([2]). The seven foot claim has been substantiated, while all the reference cited give Wight's weight as being less than 500 pounds. He is clearly less muscular than he was five years ago so it's logical that his current weight will have declined. I haven't seen anyone give Wight's genuine weight as 500 or 507 pounds. Note that imdb is not an accurate source of information as they do not engage in fact checking. McPhail 02:30, 12 November 2005 (UTC)

If you listen to the announcer when introducing Paul Wight, she clearly states that he is 507 lbs. WWE.com has not updated his weight, however. It is pretty hard to tell if his muscle mass is down at all. After all, when one gains fat, it makes them look less toned and muscular! Also, in his interview with Slam Wrestling, they got his stats from WWE at the time of the interview. He never said he was 470 lbs, this is what WWE had him as at the time. In another article (in Slam Wrestling)on him, they list him as 7'2". Again, this is what he used to be billed as. He has stated before in 2001 that he was 7'1".

In the IGN interview he says that he is seven foot tall. The WWE also bill him as being seven foot tall. Listing his "peak height" is purely speculative and somewhat irrelevant. 88.104.30.189 00:58, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Listing "peak height" is NOT speculative as he SAID he was 7'1". It is also not irrelevant. Paul Wight's stats are relevant, as this page is about Paul Wight!

If you have a credible source then add it to the Personal Life section, i.e. "his height peaked at 7 feet (xx kilograms) in 2001". The statbox should really be about current statistics only. McPhail 21:37, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

possibly he is really 7' 1/2" and in the past rounded up but now rounds down. keith 07:59, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

He was listed as being over 7feet because Nash was around when he broke in the business, and Nash was still saying he was 7feet, The Giant had to add that extra for the difference. Nash seems to use his legit height now, as a lot of other wrestlers do. With so many big men around it's not as easy to exaggerate. Powerslam magazine say's he hasn't visited a gym for years, I wouldn't be surprised if his huge weight has squashed his vertebrae by 1/2 an inch.

He's 7 ft, if you look at his pictures compared to Andre the Giant, you can tell that Show is taller. Andre is 6'10 & for Show to be taller he has to be 7'0 or 7'1. There's no way in the world he's 6'10 or 6'11 when he himself has said that he's 7'0.

How can you tell that since they have never stood together?(Halbared 22:12, 24 July 2006 (UTC))

Nash & Wight have been face to face plenty of times & everytime Nash always seems to be about two inches shorter. Son of Kong

He's probably 6'11 in bare stockings

Paul's University listed him at 6'11. And I'll bet With 2 inches of big boot heals, he probably is a legitimate 7'1. And since he's so big, he may have shrunk an inch between gaining and loosing weight etc. He did weigh in at 493 lbs (with shoes) on the scale at the match Vs. Akebono. (Note: It was Akebono who weighed 507, not Paul)

Indeed, Paul Wight weighed in at 493 lbs. However, this match was a while ago. His current weight according to the WWE announcer is 507 lbs. It doesn't seem that hard to conceive either!

--Tuscaloosa11 09:22, 14 February 2006 (UTC) Yes Paul does weigh 507 lbs as of most recently. And actually Akebono was 504 in the tournament not 507.

Paul's height

  • Age 6 stood 5 ft and weighed 105 lbs
  • Age 12 stood 6 ft 2, weighed 220 lbs.
  • 1990 Had Successful pituitary surgery to stop Acromegalic growth at age 18.
  • 1991 listed at 6'11 in Wichita University Basketball team at age 19.

Current accurate size estimates:

  • Ht. Without shoes, about 7'. With shoes, 7'2.
  • Wt. 493 lbs (as of Feb 2005)
  • Wears a size 18 shoe (36cm insole).
  • size 22 1/2 ring (1 inch in diameter).

Paul Wight said on Conan O'Brien that he wears size 18 6E shoes. He has a 64 inch chest and wears size 50x36 jeans as of a couple years ago, though he has put on some weight since then!!!

Hard to choose, where to place my comment, but I'll put it here because of the Conan comment. Once on Conan's show he said he was "about 7'1" [2.16 m]", and that he weighed 430 lbs (195 kg). Later he said he weighed 450 lbs (204 kg), and later yet 501 lbs (227 kg) resulting in one of his colleagues calling him "Levi's". At least once when Conan said he weighs 500 lbs, he corrected that he's not that much. Yet when Conan once said him to be 7 ft (2.13 m) tall, he didn't correct this.

Notice that when wrestlers are questioned about being visibly smaller than what they're billed, they answer something like "I've not been that tall since my back surgery", or "I've lost weight since then".

He has said he was 6'8" (2.03 m) and 240 lbs (109 kg) at age 14, also I remember him saying he weighed 200 lbs (91 kg) – not 220 lbs (100 kg) – at 12.

Difficult to say if the scales were fixed or not at the weigh-in with Akebono. In any case, Akebono peaked at 236 kg (520 lbs) during his sumo career, making the figures plausable. I've heard a claim that he intentionally gained weight for this occasion.

If the information concerning the time of his pituitary surgery and his university height listing are correct, he's probably never been taller than that. Indeed, sometimes when standing next to certain people, I find it difficult to believe that he's any more than 6'10" (2.08 m) nowadays.

He has a huge height advantage over the Undertaker who's 6'8. Besides, the Big Show himself has stated that he's 7'0. Son of Kong

Why?

Why does this page get so much attention, somehow it ended up on my watchlist and I swear everyday its right there on top.

I find that too. I don't know. I suppose it's not a problem, but still. Quite an anamoly. -Bordello 04:10, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but Big Show is a popular wredtler though. --Mikedk9109 19:40, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

well look at hulk hogan, he's the most popular wrestler though

--User:ssjbooger 21:57, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

Since ever I noticed, this phenomenon still vexes me. -Bordello 10:23, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Hes Popular. --Mikedk9109 14:35, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

He's gotta be 6'10 or 6'11 max

Paul actually is closer to 6'10" 6'11 max. This is exactly the same height as Andre the Giant was.

He's listed as 7 feet on WWE and this includes his shoes. I remember that before the Akebono match, he weighed 493 lbs on the scale (with his boots on).

Right at this moment, I'm watching a match between Paul and Tommy Dreamer on ECW on the Sci-Fi Channel and they've had a kind of staredown. Dreamer's head came up to about Paul's chin or bottom lip. I'd have to say Paul's a legitimate seven footer.

Oddly enough, this is one of the rare times that the wrestlers announced high is shorter than his actual height. Big Show is a legitimate 7'2". SilentRage 05:19, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
How can that be if he was measured after his operation? And admit's himself to be only 7 ft(Halbared 10:39, 11 July 2006 (UTC))
So, Paul's taller than Andre? I mean, they state that Andre is 6'10 on his discussion page but when he was younger he looks like he was at least 7'1-7'3. I mean, look at him afterwards, he seemed to have developed a hunch in his back & seems to also have shrunk. Basically, I'm saying that in his prime Show wasn't taller than Andre but if someone can prove me wrong then do it.

{Son of Kong 11:49, 19 July 2006 {UTC))

When the big show was standing next to the great khali. he was around the same size. his boots might have given him a 1-1.5 inch lift, which could put him from being 7'1 1/2 tall to 7'2 tall.
Because we know TBS legit height, 7 ft 0 in, it makes Khali smallr not TBS bigger.(Halbared 17:42, 24 July 2006 (UTC))
Paul has to be a legit 7'1 because if you look at him compared to the Great Khali he is only about one or two inches shorter although his lifts could be making him 7'1 or 7'2. Son of Kong
Your going off estimating him of a wrestler that we don't know ther true height of. Whenwe do know that when TBS was last recorded, he was 6 ft 11 in.(Halbared 14:56, 13 August 2006 (UTC))

Kevin Nash is around the 6'11 mark & Paul has two inches on him. Paul is 7'0. I'd say he's 7'0 1/2 & Kevin is 6'10 1/2 or is actually 6'11. Son of Kong

How do you know that tho? When K Nash first appeared in WWF they said he was 6 ft 9 in.Halbared 16:13, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Kevin Nash has never been 6'9. He's always been 6'10-6'11. Son of Kong

How do you know that?Halbared 07:43, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

On his profile (about his real stats), he's always said to be 6'10 or 6'11. Plus, if he were 6'9 then the Big Show would be 6'11 but he's not because he himself said that he's 7'0. Son of Kong

Oh come on, I heard Nash say on British TV in 2000 he was 6'9, I seriously doubt he'd undersize himself, half of what sells guys like Andre, Paul, Khali and Nash is how tall they are and how heavy they are, I'd say 6'9 max for Nash. I saw some footage of Paul next to Kane (who's also supposedly 6 foot 9) and he looked visibly taller so I'd say he's at least 7 foot.

I don't know how tall he actually is, but I'll say he's AT LEAST 6'10, but it's one thing to hear 6'11 but quite another to hear 7 foot, it's a psychological thing, they exaggerate him because it sounds good to have a 7 foot guy, but he may well not be 7 foot, I don't know the actual figures but I'd imagine the number of 7 foot guys willing to undergo training and play fight, and risk injury, is pretty low. As for a start how many 7 foot guys do you know? How many 6'10 guys do you know? Probably none or one.

ECW Championship

There should be a picture of him winning the ECW World Heavyweight Championshio because it marked a first in his career and a first in wrestling. Being the first wrestler to ever be wwe champion, wcw champion, and ecw champion. If this isnt needed then what is the use of the picture with him becoming the tag team champions with kane? It is needed.

Mike kelly09

It's not a question of relevance, it's a question of whether three high quality WWE images and a screenshot of WWE programming can be construed as "fair use". McPhail 21:44, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Then get rid of the tag team photo because he has been tag team champion more than once

Mike kelly09

Yep. That photo probably doesn't matter either. Bottom line is, it's just him... with a belt. There's no critical commentary here for fair use. Also, remember that WWE.com's copyright policy forbids using images in this fashion for both commercial and noncommercial use. --Jtalledo (talk) 00:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Whats the use to continue deleting the picture when it needs to be on there. This article looks boring without it.

Mikedk9109 21:18, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

It's not as simple as that. In general, we need to start phasing WWE photographs out of articles for copyright reasons. McPhail 23:31, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't the ECW title be listed along with the other WWE championships he has won? Cause ECW is part of the WWE now. Night Bringer 13:45, 18 July (GMT +10)

Championship Recognition

For record keeping purposes, The ECW World Title should be listed seperately from WWE accomplishments.

Just as during the Invasion Era, when a WWF wrestler won a WCW title, it was recognised and recorded as a WCW title reign and listed as such.

Same theory applies here.

No, It shouldnt. ECW is part of WWE now. Back in the Invasion era WCW and ECW were still seperate companies from WWE. So, his ECW Title Reign should remain where it is. Under WWE. --Mikedk9109 19:49, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Um, no. Vince owned WCW and everything associated with it all through the Invasion. It's true that the sale of all ECW property wasn't finalized until two years later (which is the main reason ECW titles weren't used in the Invasion), but the idea that WCW and ECW were still independent of the WWF during the Invasion is patently false. But for the record, the ECW title reign should definitely go under WWE. Tromboneguy0186 01:53, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Breaking Kayfabe @ ECW

Is it worth mentioning that Batista and Big Show broke kayfabe after the ECW show by hugging each other? The video used to be on Youtube but it was quickly removed after WWE found it. Slapslapslap 18:30, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

No, it's not. Every little markish thing you guys find doesn't need to be here. VelvetKevorkian 21:36, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Chokeslam finisher

Isn't it called the "Show Stopper" ? Tromboneguy0186 01:54, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

No, just the Chokeslam

--Mikedk9109 01:56, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

I think Showstopper was just a name used in some of the N64 games that caught on among 'net fans. McPhail 17:50, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

It was called the Showstopper in No Mercy for N64, and in Wrestlemania 2000 for N64. Dont think I've ever heard that said on TV before though. --Mikedk9109 17:53, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

It wouldn't be called "The Showstopper" on TV because that is one of Shawn Michaels nicknames. Same reason why the HeartBreakers changed to the Hearthrobs when called up to WWE TV. MFuture 04:03, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

The move that is listed as "Final Cut" here was called the "Show Stopper" several times on TV. I NEVER hear them call that move "Final Cut". TJ Spyke 21:25, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

That move listed as "Final Cut" IS called the Final Cut, and has been called that many times on TV. he started using it as a (small) variant on The Hurricane's "Eye Of The Hurricane"/"Nightmare On Helms Street" manouver. The chokeslam was called the Showstopper a few times early in his WWF career, but it is now simply referred to as a chokeslam.
I believe the chokeslam was also called the "Major League Chokeslam" as well, back when he was on Smackdown.

HUGE WEIGHT GAIN

His weight has always confused me, he has always been billed in the WWE as around about 500lbs. However he has gradually put on more and more weight as his career has progressed. Up until around late 2000, he was lean. When he returned at the Royal Rumble 2001 he had supposedly lost weight but had his belly hanging out and looked like he had gained some weight. Since he started wearing his black attire his weight went well over what it was. When he quit WWE in 2004 temporarily he had his straps down whilst chasing Torrie Wilson and it was clear he was very out of shape and he had put so much weight on. His belly was hanging over his shorts. He then came back a few months after and had lost weight which he has since put on, I think now he is heavier than he has ever been.

The heaviest (and taller) he's ever been is around 540 lbs, on his WCW days. Yes, he did lose quite a lot of weight for a while, I believe it coincided (or could have even been the cause) with him being put on contention for the WWE Title, held at the time by JBL. I think he was like 450, because he really looked a lot leaner. He quickly put on from 50-70 pounds for his sumo match at WM 21 (since he looked A LOT fatter and still Akebono seemed heavier) and never quite lost it, so if we were to exclude WCW, you're probably right by claiming right now he's heavier than ever. (PS, sign your posts!)Vicius 06:39, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

I agree, Ive not seen much of him in WCW but ive seen pics but i still cant make my mind up, theres no doubting he is huge and out of shape for a wrestler, he has a large belly which he never had in early wwf days, I dont know how he has gotten so large, because you would thnk he has to do a lot of training. I remember when he first came to wwf he was always the tallest but he was quite lean and always looked like this next to other wrestlers, now he has a huge frame and u can see next to wrestlers like batista who are 300+ he has over 200lbs on him. IO guess we'll never truly know because the wwf exaggerate the weight over wrestler, but unless he sorts himself out he will only get bigger.81.153.12.85 11:27, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

In his WCW day's he was a trim 400 lb or so, and very fit. Since he joined WWF he has slowly gotten out of shape and doesn't train anymore. Don't forget tho that wrestling used to be a sport for huge fat men, you just don't see so many any more. The WWF tried to bully him into training more and eating less a while ago, but it didn't work. TBS seems to be outwardly OK with his huge weight gain.Halbared 13:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

it seems a shame though that he no longer trains and is still a big name in wwe getting titles and main event slots and such when theyre are many kids working theyre ass of training whilst he sits at home stuffing his face with pizza growing bigger and bigger. i think its rather sad how hes let himself go, I mean i appreciate he'll always be a big guy but to get so fat in the last few years is pathetic and embarrassing. Comparing him to all the other big names he outweighs them all significantly now. When was he outwardly ok with his weight? im just wondering 81.153.8.13 01:29, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Well I should think he must be......otherwise he would control it. He doesn't appear to have an issue with taking the top part of his jerkin off and letting his belly flop out.Halbared 16:39, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Halbared you are right, he often walks around backstage with his straps down backstage with his stomach hanging out, even in front of the ladies.I think he feels no need to hide it anymore, he has put on a substantional amount of weight as a result of eating far too much junk fooda dn not enough exercise. A friend of mine works backstage at some venues and has said he has never seen anyone so large. Big show is addicted to junk food according to a website I read he spends upto $30 at mcdonalds he said. It is obvious how unfit big show is since he usually sweats a hell of a lot for a wrestler.Alaka 00:45, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Hog Lock or Hog Log

I have heard this move refered to as both.Does anyone know if it's Log or Lock.

On the video games it was called the Hog Lock, I don't remember hearing the name of the move on TV but Styles & Tazz have been calling it the Showstopper. JamX3K

i dunno but some dude jkeeps switching it to showstopper legdrop

Because that's what Joey Styles has been calling it on ECW lately. Also, sign your comments on talk pages by appending ~~~~. -Darryl Hamlin 14:16, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Ummm... I heard the move being named the Hog Lock a few times on SD!, tough at the time it didn't seem to be a particularly powerful move, since he rarely attempted the cover. If my memory doesn't fail, I think I saw him use the move to set up the Chokeslam at least couple times. Regarding the Chokeslam, I have heard both Jim Ross, Carlos Cabrera end even Jerry Lawler call it the Show Stopper, altough not recently. Hope this helps the discussion.Vicius 06:31, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Photos

I think that his photos need to be updated. He's changed his look again. Son of Kong

The problem is acquiring a good free use image. McPhail 19:03, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Since photos are being adressed, I'd like to ask why is an Edgecution (Edge's old finisher) photo doing on his page?Vicius 06:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Retirement

It was just added that he may retire due to nagging injuries. I believe to make a statement of that kind it's necessary to cite a verifiable source. Since it is referred to as "he said in an interview" a link to such interview should do the trick. Vicius 22:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

The reason it is not mentioned here is because it has only been spread throught the internet on websites that have been known to spread false information. While it may be true, we have not heard it from anyone that is really credible as of now. We will have to wait and see what happens

-The Showster

Information removed?

May I ask why the information about the period of time facing other superstars such as Sabu and other superstars removed?I believe his current fued for RVD ESPECIALLY should be added instead of deleted since he's defending his title on a ECW OWN PPV.I am curiosu to ask the person who did this as it's needed for his current fued. It's also important to know defending a title against several superstars is especially improtant and shouldn't be removed for any reason. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.91.94.125 (talkcontribs) .

Wikipedia is a general interest encyclopedia, not a detailed guide to professional wrestling. Putting wrestler's fictional exploits like this already treads the line here (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) and Wikipedia is normally not the place to detail current fictional events (see WP:NOT). --Jtalledo (talk) 10:39, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Big Nasty Paul White vs Wight

When he was Big Nasty, how was his last name spelled. The article gives it at White, his real name is Wight, which spelling was he billed as? Valley2city 17:27, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I distinctly remember WWE using the "White" spelling.
It really depends what source you are looking at. I see it spelled both ways with no dramatic difference in the number of sources for each. -- THLCCD 07:35, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Question about Big Show and his title wins.

I see that Show has won the WWE Championship, the WWE US championship (while they were both on SmackDown!) and the World Tag Team Championships. Wouldn't that mean that Big Show is a Triple Crown champion? Not SmackDown! or RAW, but a WWE Triple Crown Winner, having a World title reign (WWE title), a second tier title reign (WWE US title), and a tag title reign(World Tag titles)? --TJ Sparks 09:44, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes. -- THLCCD 11:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Actually, I just heard that the US Title isn't counted towards a Triple Crown; only the IC Title is. That doesn't sound right to me, and the person who said it just quit Wikipedia, so I'm going to ask around. I'll let you know what I find out. Cheers, -- THLR 01:04, 11 December 2006 (UTC)

His Height

Does anyone here know about height and weight, I'm 6 foot 1 and 224 pounds and I'm only 13, do you think I'll grow to 7 foot? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JBAK (talkcontribs) 14:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC).

I'm 6'4" and 170 lbs, 15 years old. I was taller than you when I was 13, and I'm projected at 6'5" max, so probably not. 71.172.28.136 17:25, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Read Acromegaly and Gigantism. However, you are probably just tall like 71.172.28.136 said, or you may have XYY syndrome (if you are a male). If you still have concerns after reading the articles, I would ask a doctor for their opinion. Better safe then sorry. Cheers, -- THL 19:01, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Well I dunno then, because I'm 14, 222 (yes I'm fat, ha ha ha) and 6'2" and my doctor says 6'9" for me, did you consult your physician or was it an internet estimate. Also you have to remember lots of people stop growing at 15 or 16.

Fired I Heard

wwe.com [3] heres what they said

The World’s Largest Athlete has made his life’s biggest decision, and for now, WWE and ECW will be without a giant.

Not since Andre the Giant has there been a man of Big Show’s stature who’s made such impact on sports-entertainment. But, after more than seven years in WWE and a five-month reign of dominance in the reborn ECW, Big Show has decided to take time away from the ring.

Enduring not only one of the most physical confrontations in his career against new ECW World Champion Lashley on ECW on Sci Fi, but also experiencing the agony and misery within the torturous Extreme Elimination Chamber, it seemed that this week was the breaking point for the giant.

Some close to Big Show have said that his pride was lost after losing the ECW World Title. His lingering emotions and injuries, coupled with several tumultuous days contributed to his decision to step away.

“I’m a raw-boned bastard that breaks things and moves the immovable objects. When I’m injured, I can’t do those things,” said the Extreme Giant. “I’m much more valuable healthy both mentally and physically, and this hiatus will help me to get there.”

According to Big Show, he has been plagued by a multitude of injuries from herniated discs to torn muscles, but has still competed through the pain. Bodily damage of this nature is something an ordinary individual (of far smaller size) could never endure, let alone carry the weight of the ECW World Title in a highly physical realm of hardcore.

“I’ve reached a point in my career right now where I am a little run down and hurt pretty bad physically,” explained the Extremist. “I’ve been wrestling the past three months pretty much in pain every night. I can’t compete at the level I want to compete at, and that’s the most heartbreaking thing.”

Despite his display of supremacy, Big Show claimed that his performance in the ring has not been at his full potential. It is this that has driven the immense competitor to step away from WWE for now.

“I think every athlete reaches a point in their career when he really has to check himself and evaluate what is going on,” said the 500-pound Extremist. “Anybody who knows me knows I need a break. People go through life so fast sometimes they miss it; I just want to put on the brakes.”

According to the World’s Largest Athlete, the physical ache he’s experienced doesn’t compare to the emotional anguish that’s accompanied his decision to take a break not just from his career, but also the familial lifestyle of sports-entertainment.

With a career that’s spanned more than one decade, Big Show has held every major World Championship in sports-entertainment and is the only man to hold the WWE Championship, ECW World Title and World Heavyweight Championship.

More importantly, the Extreme Giant said that in his conquests, he’s had the extraordinary opportunity to have battled the biggest icons in sports-entertainment including Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Ric Flair, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker and countless others.

“It’s bittersweet; this business is a family. I’ve been traveling and I’ve been in this business for 11 wonderful years,” stated a passionate Big Show. “I’ve been able to work with almost every top Superstar in this business that’s ever meant anything… I’ve had some very memorable matches and I’m thankful for it.”

Whether cheered or jeered by WWE fans, Big Show has always been respected and kept audiences in sheer awe. Now, the seven-footer is anxious to take some time away from the spotlight, though that spotlight shines extra bright upon an individual of such mammoth size.

“Being this big, you can never hide,” he admitted with a large grin. “I’m thankful for it but right now I just want some time for myself. I’m thankful for the fans and I hope that they can respect this decision and can be supportive too.”

While Big Show hopes to recover and refresh himself, he discussed his possible involvement in a future WWE Films release.

“I want to reinvent myself if possible, and find out who Big Show really is,” he admitted. “I’d like to do a WWE movie – a comedy – because I have a pretty good sense of comedic timing. I’m a pretty humble, lovable, funny, easy-going guy with a short fuse. Then again, like Chris Rock said, nobody wants to laugh at a big guy who could beat your ass.”

Until then, it’ll be a “big, bad show tonight” and every other night until the Extreme Giant makes his way back home to the squared circle.

“I’m thankful for everything,” asserted Big Show. “For every man who has stepped in the ring with me and trusted me with their bodies. For WWE officials who have been so supportive of my decision when I basically went to them in tears and told them I was burnt out.”

In addition to these very genuine words, Big Show also had a message for ECW and WWE fans alike.

“I’d like to give a special thanks to ECW fans,” he added. “I wasn’t a part of the original ECW, but I gave all I had for them and I hope solidified my part in ECW. For anyone who has cheered me, loved me, hated me and booed me: thank you.” —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WrestlingManiac (talkcontribs) 02:00, 19 December 2006 (UTC).

OK. Why did you copy the WWE article onto this page again? I think I'm missing something. -- THL 02:08, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

When addressing him

Why is his last name used? All other wrestler's articles go by their ring name. I would like to change it to "Big Show" in the WWE section unless anyone objects. --Maestro25 06:02, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Finishing and Signature Moves

I'm suprised ppl like him and Andre had to train

I mean why don't all people who're 6'10 or 7'0 go into wrestling, they're born with strength, any guy who's 6'10 can demolish any 6'0 with ease because they're so much bigger, I'm suprised that they even have to train.

Being the size of Kurt Angle it's probably harder because you've got to work to pick up the big guys but Wight and Rouismoff could easily do it with their natural strength.

P.S. Does the Big Show have to get his clothes specially made or does he go to a tall man's supplier?

By the look of how much weight the big show gained in recent years, something like 100lbs, i dont think he does train. He is so huge that he can easily do anything he wants with other wrestlers because no-one comes close to his enormous size, especially now as he is bigger and heavier than hes ever been. Big show is a junk food addict too, hes admitted spening upto $40 at mcdonalds and says he eats several 12" pizzas before his matches, possibly explaining his huge weight gain and lack of care for his physique. The problem with him not training however he is very slow. As for where he gets his clothes I think he would have to have them especially made as he is so large, a tall mans suppliers have clothes for tall people, big show is tall but hes very very fat too and has something like a 55" waist so getting trousers to fit would be difficult.217.44.10.223 16:59, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

The natural strength that Wight and Andre had did not come from being tall. It came from their weight. If people like them don't ingest an unbelievable amount of calories, then the acromegaly will use literally all of the energy coming into the body to force it to grow taller. This lowers the amount of energy devoted to the muscles, and, therefore, makes the victim weaker and more easily exhausted than a normal person. People in Africa who have acromegaly will usually starve to death because they don't have access to the large amount of food required to simply keep someone suffering from this condition alive. The amount of food required to create a person like Wight, Andre, or Singh must be unbelievable. -- The Hybrid 04:24, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
