Contract

Can Wight ever renew his contract if he chooses to? -- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.68.211.16 (talkcontribs).

Yes, he wasn't fired. -- The Hybrid 00:56, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

According to the article, Wight's WWF/E contract was signed on Feb 9, 1999 for ten years, and his contract expired at the end of February 2007. That's a bit over 8 years. Where're the missing 1 year 345-or-so days? Fitfatfighter 05:28, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Memphis

{{Editprotected}} There needs to be mention of his upcoming match with Hogan in Memphis. Long, long, press conference about it. I'm not sure how much detail it should go into yet, as it hasn't happened yet. 67.23.118.230 10:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Probably none if you aren't sure about what exactly to put in. It's better to wait until it actually happens. Then we can better assess whether it should be put in the article or not. Harryboyles 12:48, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Match with Hulk Hogan at Memphis show

Hogan defeated Wight with the Leg drop and bodyslam at the Memphis Indy show, I think this should be added to the article.[1] JAB5 17:39, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Please provide a reliable source which shows that. Your link to http://rasslinriotonline.com/ doesn't tell me anything. —dgiestc 21:24, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Moonsault

There's no proof that Wight ever performed a moonsault, as far as I know. Until any turns up, the article should note that the story is a rumor. PenguinJockey 02:36, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Wow. It's actually true. PenguinJockey 01:43, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

7 ft 2"

I heard he is actually 7 foot 2 inches, not 7 foot zero? Is that true? No, I don't think so. Maybe they billed him somewhere as 7 foot 2. Emilos 16:07, 7 May 2007 (UTC)emilos

I notice that Big Show's (Paul Wight) billed height has dropped from 7'4" in WCW to 7'2" and now 7'0" in WWE. Looking at some old videos from WCW, Paul did look taller, but I can see why -- big lifts in his boots! They're pretty obvious on some wrestlers like Kane, but the lifts made Paul really look bigger and taller in WCW. Paul has wide shoulders and a long torso, so adding two inches to his lower extremity made him look more proportional. In contrast, Kane just looks like a guy on lifts, since he has long legs already, and the lifts make his legs disproportionately long.

Show is still 7 foot 2 but hes gained a lot of weight and is now very wide so you dont notice it as much. Back in his early years it was his height that struck people and everyone noticed how tall he was, but not how heavy because he was lean. Now, because he is so heavy and chunky people are more in awe of his weight (over 500lbs) than his height, but his height is the same but hes just a lot bigger. Alaka 14:35, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Final Cut

Under wrestling facts it says that Big Show used "The Final Cut" from 2001 to 2005, but he actually used it on lashley on ECW. Should it be changed?Emilos 16:09, 7 May 2007 (UTC)emilos

No it should not be changed. Using it once and a while is not using it as his finisher. The Final Cut was his finisher from 2001 to 2005

One could argue that. Some wrestlers DO only use their finishers every now and again like Kenta Kobashi and his Burning Hammer. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.227.201.201 (talk) 01:05, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Editing the article

{{Editprotected}}

Mr. Jimmy Wales, please let me allow to make an edit in the article Paul Wight. It is very important for me to make an edit. Please let me edit it. Asad Entertainment 21:20, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I have declined the edit request. I'm assuming you want to add Category:WWE Champions. This category has been previously deleted in accordance with the deletion policy, and will be deleted again until the deletion has been reviewed at WP:DRV. Please discuss it there. Thanks. -- zzuuzz(talk) 16:28, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
Unrelated, would it be worth mentioning or listing that he appeared in the music video for Sisqó's single "Thong Song"? --75.2.16.245 10:32, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
If you have a reference, then this would certainly be worth mentioning. McPhail 15:34, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Showstopper?

Under the moves section, it lists the Showstopper as the "inverted leg drop bulldog" and the "Chokeslam" listed as a seperate thing completely. Is there something I'm missing here or is this completely wrong? Sherick 21:44 27 June 2007 UTC

The current version is correct. The "Showstopper" is the name given to Wight's leg drop ([2]). The use of "Showstopper" to refer to Wight's chokeslam stems from video games and fan usage; WWF/WWE did not coin the term themselves, and no sources have been provided for WWF/WWE referring to Wight's chokeslam as the "Showstopper". McPhail 12:38, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
It is actually incorrect. as for no sources, go hire a WWE dvd of a match of his, and you will definatly hear the commentator call the chokeslam the "Showstopper" Lynx Raven Raide 04:29, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Obviously, I'm kind of late on this, but the Chokeslam was briefly refered to as the Showstopper by Jim Ross on an episode of Raw. I remember him saying it three times in a row (ala STONE COLD! STONE COLD! STONE COLD!" In fact, I think it was the Raw is Owen episode. Be beat Goldust and the Blue Meanie in a handicap match. Mshake3 04:36, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

It has actually been used more thant "briefly" and is actually refered to in the WWE games such as WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW as the "Showstopper". the other move is actually refered to as the Hog Log Lynx Raven Raide 04:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Well video games are merely the opinion of a programmer, and not really reliable in my own opinion. All I'm saying is that it was used on TV at least once. Mshake3 04:49, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, it's definitely been called the Showstopper on TV when it is a chokeslam, but in his last run his leg drop bulldog was definitely named the Showstopper instead. Hifo 18:51, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Daughter

Doesn't he have a daughter from his previous marriage?(MgTurtle 04:16, 30 June 2007 (UTC)).

United States championship

Should we include the united states title as a championship of his? I know he did not win the title in a match but he did have possession of it. The Ref also said the the match was for the wcw united states title and he did win the match by disqualification. Titan012 10:54, 23,July 2007

Retired

Didn't Wight retire after December to Dismember? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sepmix (talkcontribs) 00:10, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

No he took a sabatical, much like Y2J did in 2005, decided to finish his contract then take time off to explore other options/and to heal injuries. Masterofdestiny (talk) 8:22, 16 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.6.82.141 (talk)

Boxing?

Wight subsequently began training at the Phantom Boxing Club in Miami with the intent of becoming a professional boxer.
