Links
[edit]A warm welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for the links you are adding to WP. Please do be careful when adding external links. Please have a good read of the external links policy page. You will see it says that " it is not Wikipedia's purpose to include a lengthy or comprehensive list of external links related to each topic." We want just a few links on each page that are only the most useful for each subject. Often the literary archive is not the most useful link that can be added to a subject, amazing though the archive is. So
- Please assess whether there are enough good quality links already (about five or less)
- Please assess if the link is a good idea to add
- If yes, please add only one link to Emory. For example, in this case you have added three. One main link is sufficient
- Please note that in most cases archives are not accessible visually online. They just inform the reader that the archive exists. Most readers will not pursue a request to requisition info from the archive. Most WP external links give direct web access to immediately learn further about the subject there and then.
As you are working at Emory, it might be perceived as a conflict of interest that you are routinely adding so many links to articles. It's good that you have stated you affiliation on your user page. I would like to discuss this further. I have reverted a few of your big edits where many links have been added to one subject. WP can take a while to get used to - with all the guidelines and various perspectives. I hope you hang on in there and learn the ins and outs.
All best wishes. Anna (talk) 10:36, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
- You are continuing to add multiple Emory links without reference to the above comments. Anna (talk) 23:54, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
