Week 2 / Evaluate an Article / ASCXX
1. I followed the instruction on week 2 training "Evaluate an Article", then I found an article that I am interested in through the link (C-class articles) provided. Finally, I answered each evaluation questions and collaborate them into one or two sentences for each evaluating section.
2. User:ASCXX/Evaluate_an_Article
3. [[1]] I am not sure if we need to comment on the article we found or comment on my "Evaluate an Article" talk page. I comment on my "Evaluate an Article" talk page just in case I am not making any errors in the original article.
4. I learned the importance of following the instruction step by step. I was lost when the first time to skip watching the training video, thus, I went back a couple of times to watch the video again to make sure I am on the right track. I also learned the guidelines of evaluating an article, especially what to focus on when evaluating each section. ASCXX (talk) 21:22, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

Week 2 / Evaluate an Article / 八路军被服厂李厂长
In this week, I found that a well organized article needs to take long time to settle. There is nothing good but changes.
Here is my link toward evaluation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:%E5%85%AB%E8%B7%AF%E5%86%9B%E8%A2%AB%E6%9C%8D%E5%8E%82%E6%9D%8E%E5%8E%82%E9%95%BF/Evaluate_an_Article?preload=Template%3ADashboard.wikiedu.org_evaluate_article

Amandaerfeng (talk) 13:23, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Hi everyone I am Amanda! Sorry for creating an account so late. I don't have to give my real name here, right? I am currently in Shanghai to attend NYU SH program (I kind of give myself away). My concentration in MASY program is enterprise risk management. Week2 / Evaluate an Article/ Bbbzhu
This week I learned about evaluating a Wikipedia article from several aspects: Wikipedia quality rating, a simple and easy to read lead section, clear structure, balanced content, neutral tone, and good and reliable source. I evaluated a page and commented on its respective talk page. The page I evaluated was Welsh Corgi, here is the link to my evaluation, and I also commented to a section in the talk page. I found the reading and editing to be fun and I feel like a part of the community. Learning to use the editor, both visual editor and source editor, to edit a Wikipedia page is helpful when it's time to make real edits. Also I learned that the editing of a Wikipedia page is teamwork that would require many people's effective communication. It is also a work that could span decades as there will always be new information about the topic. It is very interesting to learn and work on it. --Bbbzhu (talk) 04:24, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Week 2 / Evaluate an Article / 燕京赵大知识分子
This week I found an interesting article that talks about Chinese musicology. I found some missing information about the history of Chinese music so I added it there. The article talks about the music scales which are the originators for modern music theory. Here's the link for the article, and here's the link for the talk page. I learned it's important to check the accurateness for key information, and leave a comment in the talk page to notify others too when I am about to edit. 燕京赵大知识分子 (talk) 02:17, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Week 2/Evaluate an Article/DetongChe
After completed evaluate a Wikipedia article training and finish exercises, I have got the process of evaluating an article. I choose the article is industrial arts. This article page without any images and the contents need more improvement. There is too much information about university studies, not industrial arts instruction. This task is very significant and makes me wonder what I can do to make it easier for others. Week 1 / Create Wikipedia Account / Jessicarose02
Hello all, my name is Jessica Nannery and I am a freshman at SUNY Sullivan. I am an English major, but I know that taking Sociology as an elective is going to have a very positive educational effect on me. Using Wikipedia is definitely going to enhance my education and help me grow to be a better student overall. --Jessicarose02 (talk) 16:57, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- Jessicarose02, Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you find this experience useful on many levels far beyond the course itself!! FULBERT (talk) 19:46, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
Week 2 / Evaluate an Article / Jessicarose02
In this week, I found that there are many different things you need to focus on when publishing an article such as keeping it up to date, making sure citation links work, using proper sources and there are many other things but this is what I learned are important. The article I read and evaluated was called "Sociology of Education" which not only showed me information on the subject, but a learning opportunity about what to do and not do while publishing an article.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociology_of_education
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sociology_of_education
During this process I learned that there are many different ways to conduct and use Wikipedia through articles and publishing them. Evaluating an article definitely showed me how I would publish an article just how I was able to provide evaluations on another one. --Jessicarose02 (talk) 22:22, 24 September 2020 (UTC)

Week3 / Copyedit an Article / Bbbzhu
This week I edited the Chrysanthemum page, also assigned myself this page. I added in the medical use of Chrysanthemum in traditional Chinese medicine, here's the difference link. Also, I copyedited a passive tone sentence on the same page, here's the difference link. In this week's assignment, I learned to add content to a page, add citation (a book), and use the summary function to insert a simple and clear summary for others to see what was edited. I also learned to use the view history to compare what was edited to the previous version. --Bbbzhu (talk) 02:10, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi professor, my name is Tianyu Ma, you could also call me Austin. This is my third semester at NYU, I am quite interest in Research Process and Methodology. Because in my mind, the research process includes identifying, locating, evaluating, and analyzing the information needed to support the research question, and then developing and expressing my own opinion. After this class, I hope I will fully learn and master these research methods and skills, which will be of great help to my future study and teamwork. I don't have any professional work experience but I am really looking forward to learn more in this class.Jooookerr (talk) 20:30, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Jooookerr (Tianyu Ma) / 09.11.2020
