May I ask what drew you to create an article on this fascinating individual? She is my distant cousin, I was wondering whether you had a connection to her. -- Roleplayer (talk) 03:09, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- A fascinating person, indeed. I am sorry, but I have no direct connection; I just came across the books by David Baguley and Betty Kelen. Do you have a picture you can add to the article? Ekem (talk) 13:40, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately not, it's only a very distant relationship. I do have a photograph of the Chateau she was given and it would be quite legal to upload it to Wikipedia, were it not embedded in a pdf file! -- Roleplayer (talk) 00:08, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Help?
Hey there, i'm trying to set up a page for a band called elysium who i am a fan of but they keep getting deleted by yourself. I dont want to be banned so could you please tell me why they get deleted? Many thanks, elysiumfan—Preceding unsigned comment added by Elysiumfan (talk • contribs) 01:04, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Basically you are not providing any verifiable sources to explain why the band is notable enough for an encyclopedia. -- Roleplayer (talk) 01:08, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Dissolution (novel). Hi Roleplayer, I was wondering to make sure that the main issue about the jules moretti page was the references to back up the podcast competition hosted by joachim garraud? If that is the case there is 2 facts to consider. 1 that the competition occurred in 2006 thus the original site www.thespacepodcast.info is no longer existent but is published on Joachim garraud website still. stating the appearance of DJ Jules Moretti in it. 2 having happened a while back sites on the topic are fading though it is mentioned in several sites this competition. What are your recommendations? And are the references that I added published properly.
Thanking you in advance. --Jamesedinburgh (talk) 12:00, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- The issue for me is that if someone is notable there ought to be something on the Internet that verifies their notability, and that ought to be something not added to the Internet by that person themselves. It shouldn't be difficult to find something if someone is notable. Let the deletion discussion run its course - if others agree that the subject is notable they may help you find the references you need. -- Roleplayer (talk) 15:55, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your repply and your time on this. I am having the same conversation with Esradekan. Basically to sum up here are the main points I have for notability and stop this deletion topic.
- Quote from WP:MUSIC - "Please note that the failure to meet any of these criteria does not mean an article must be deleted"
- Criteria 12 state - "Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network."
- JM diffused globally in 2006 a 1 hour mix on Joachim Garraud (JG) sub Podcast.
- JG was in 2006, in the top 10 iTunes podcast in France thus being diffused nationally and globally since back then the competition in podcast where not as big as now. JG is still in the top 100 podcast in France listed in iTunes store France.
- All information provided are correct and referenced.
- Thank you for your repply and your time on this. I am having the same conversation with Esradekan. Basically to sum up here are the main points I have for notability and stop this deletion topic.
- Is that still not enough to not be deleted? Since JG is not related to JM and all the other information provided are correct and backed up by references? Please keep me updated on the issues. Thanking you in advance, and very respectfully. Jamesedinburgh (talk) 16:30, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well as I said before, let the deletion discussion run its course, so someone who knows the criteria at WP:MUSIC better than I do is able to provide some verification to the standard they expect. -- Roleplayer (talk) 16:47, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Thank you. Jamesedinburgh (talk) 17:12, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
- Could you let me know how to change the m or moretti to a capital M in the title? that would be hugely appreciated. Jamesedinburgh (talk) 22:29, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Cheers Jamesedinburgh (talk) 17:14, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
False Vandalism
The warning you gave me was unwarranted, I believe. Since, the article itself was made as a joke by a friend of mine. I didn't know the text you gotta type for speedy deletion. So, I deleted the text of the page instead and that made it so that I was punished for "vandalism" when I was just trying to get rid of a screwed up page. Re:Re:AfD nomination of List of some notable dancers
I just think it's importent to gather the names of the best dancers with some brief information about them.because all these dancers already have a page on wiki-pedia but it's hard to find all notable dancers. It almost took myself 2 weeks.I thought it might be good to have them all on a page in which they can be found together. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Solino (talk • contribs) 21:44, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- That's what Category:Dancers is for, as suggested in the AfD nomination. To say that some are "the best" or better than others is just your point of view and that's not what Wikipedia is about. -- Roleplayer (talk) 21:48, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- and What about the brief imformation about them? (I know hte matter which are better is not Wikipedia's about.that's why I brought up all the ones in whose pages they had most rewards or etc.)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Solino (talk • contribs) 21:55, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- That's why it's unmanageable - to have that amount of information in a single list about every dancer would be too much, but to start selecting based on ability, as you appear to be suggesting would be extremely subjective. The only way the article could be kept in all reality is if it's a list of names, with the information contained within the articles. -- Roleplayer (talk) 22:05, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi Roleplayer, I see we share a common interest in this project. As you gave me a warm welcome to WP I hope you don't mind if I take up your offer and seek some guidance regarding Article Assessment on this project. I have until a while back been working on a number of the small villages in the the Chilterns area which either started off as stubs or needed creating from scratch. For example Cholesbury and Hawridge both were stubs and I have used the village template / good article examples and style guidelines on them, but also others, just hamlets like Asheridge and Chivery. I would like to know if there is a structure WP approach to carrying out assessment of articles which we should apply to Buckinghamshire Project articles. I assumed there was/ would be but just picked up on a reassessment that happened just now to a football team article in Bucks which I watch which was just reassessed tonight and rerated B on the run. I could not find any discussion on this anywhere beforehand see Talk:Milton Keynes Dons F.C.. Is this the norm? Either way how should I follow conventions and get a small batch of about 5/7 put in the 'queue' to be reviewed. As I have been the main / most recent editor who expanded them I think they need a fresh pair of eyes on them to suggest how I could make more improvements on them anyway Tmol42 (talk) 22:57, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I know nothing about article assessment. I would bring this up at the project's talk page. -- Roleplayer (talk) 23:00, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks I have taken your advice and posted a slightly pointed question / comment on the project page Tmol42 (talk) 23:28, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- PS Saw you family tree references interesting as i am doing the research on Chesham family at the moment Tmol42 (talk) 23:28, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I removed the CSD A7 tag you placed on this article and replaced with an unreferenced tag. I found it a little excessive to delete the article! My opinion is that the article does require references and cleanup. However it indicates that its subject is important or significant by stating that the mapping comes from the Libre Project of mapping data. Also the wiki link to TopoZone adds significance IMO.
Hope you see my point! Cheers, Nk.sheridan Talk 23:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- The CSD A7 tag was added because the website name got only 9 google hits. I have listed it under afd instead. -- Roleplayer (talk) 23:03, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yep i'd agree with WP:AFD.. Seems the author is working some more on the article now to address the issues. cheers, Neil Nk.sheridan Talk 23:13, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Tommy and All
Dude, you put my article up for speedy deletion! Thank you! I need to make a fresh start. the article was titled "Tommy and all". I meant to capatilize "All" but i was lazy. i will redo my article and make it better. Please don't delete it this Time. I have improved it.--BJ08 (talk) 23:36, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I am afraid that a google search for the name of the website you created an article about returns just one hit, and that's Wikipedia. If you recreate the article after it is deleted, it will likely just be deleted again, unless you are able to show a very good verifiable reference that proves its notability. -- Roleplayer (talk) 23:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
The website was shut down and is under going for major reconstruction in march. it won't be up and running again until this summer. The creator is currently working to reconstruct the site. That was the last thing that was added to the site before they shut it down.--BJ08 (talk) 23:46, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
What is your opinion on this article? Should it be renamed? Otolemur crassicaudatus (talk) 17:52, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- As it stands it looks like original research and therefore has bigger problems than just its name. Can it be cleaned up or is it irretrievable? Unfortunately I don't have the patience to read it to find out - it's not a subject that interests me that much! -- Roleplayer (talk) 17:56, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Why Calligraphyuserbox was up for speedy deletion
It's a direct copy of User:Ehm1883/Userboxes/Calligraphy, that I already moved to user space, and of Template:Ehm1883/Userboxes/Calligraphy, which I have marked for speedy. I didn't see the point of having two identical boxes in the same user space. -- Roleplayer (talk) 15:34, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

New Project
Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.
If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 06:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Why are you indexing articles under *? If I wanted to know about Halton House, surely the first place I would look is under H for Halton? -- Roleplayer (talk) 22:10, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- If you wanted to know about Halton House, please look under H for Halton. But in Category:Rothschild family under H would be only people – Rothschild family members, wouldn't it? -- Worobiew (talk) 22:23, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- It's just unusual to group so many articles under * at the start. Normally only one or two are indexed in this way. -- Roleplayer (talk) 22:30, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I totally agree the user above should not have been warned about removing PROD warnings from pages he was creating. I would point out however that he only received two warnings for that from Xp54321 and CanadianLinuxUser. Re: Prod versus speedy
Hi, I've seen you use {{prod}} a couple of times when the article is patent nonsense and is thus eligible for speedy deletion. All three times you could have used {{db-person}} and the article would have been deleted a lot quicker. It's just that nonsense articles hanging around for longer cheapens the validity and quality of the encyclopedia. Nice work all the same. -- Roleplayer (talk) 11:13, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Roleplayer, thanks for pointing that out. I rarely tag pages for deletion. I read the policy (CSD) yesterday but missed the article criteria (read only general section and tagged one attack article). Once more thank you. --Pethr (talk) 13:49, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of PET (molecular biology)
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article PET (molecular biology), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Schu1321 (talk) 07:06, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Very unusual AfD closure
Just dropping you a line that I've closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/3g iphone. This was a very unusual closure, so I thought it would be best if I explained why. The original rationale, about it being a future product and a lack of notability, has been entirely undercut by the fact that it was just announced.[2] I also thought it was too much of a "black mark" to have such a "negative" maintenance template on an article that will soon see a lot of activity, now that it's been announced.
Feel free to drop me a line if you have anything specific to say; I just wanted to make sure you didn't get pissed at me. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 22:12, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hey I'm cool about it. As long as the community are OK about me nominating things for deletion if at first inspection they appear to be non-notable, I don't have a problem with what the community does with them after that. -- Roleplayer (talk) 22:15, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Groovy, glad there were no hard feelings over it.
For what it's worth, I agree that stuff that appears non-notable should get chucked up on AfD. I may not be the entire community, but at least I am okay with it. :) EVula // talk // ☯ // 22:17, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
