Draft:Chief_Pat
Hi Theroadislong! Thanks for the feedback on the Draft:Chief_Pat page.
You noted that you had denied approval because YouTube was referenced for 7 of the 15 sources, however a majority of the YouTube citations were related to channel statistics/milestones that were rather obvious and perhaps not needing sourcing (1, 2, 5, and 6). Would it be better to remove those 4 references?
Otherwise, are the 8 other sources sufficient? There are other snippets that could be added with more colorful commentary, i.e. "Few individuals around the world are as synonymous within the mobile gaming scene as Chief Pat is" from https://www.invenglobal.com/articles/8269/igec-panel-highlight-mobile-esports-the-worlds-largest-niche-community, but I opted to keep things more clear-cut. I'd love to hear your feedback.
Here are some articles I'm using as reference for either gaming YouTubers, or esports organization founders/CEOs: Andy Dinh, OMGitsfirefoxx, Hafu_(video_game_player), Trump_(video_game_player)
Dave Taranto
On 14th December I let the community know that I am writing an article on a producer, radio announcer and promoter David Taranto. It was rejected on the grounds that it wasn't relevant enough.
I believe I didn't provide enough information about the subject, or gave misleading info on my intentions, which might have made it appear that the article might be a bit amateurish. I hope I didn't mislead. I must stress that an article on David Taranto would provide crucial historical information on the Australian comedy industry.
I should explain. In the Melbourne comedy industry in the 1990s, David - Dave - Taranto showcased many Australian comedians who became international acts such as The Doug Anthony Allstars and Lano and Woodley, who received the Edinburgh Fringe's Perrier Award. The BBC subsequently produced a TV series starring Lano and Woodley. He promoted and broadcast many other successful comedy acts in the 1990s. Dave's untimely death in 1999 put an end to his short career. But a number of producers and myself feel that that specific era in Australian comedy is missing from the industry's history. I would like to create an article to provide the public with details of his career and activities. There are a number of other colleagues who will contribute information and edit facts.
To help you get a clearer picture, I am a performer, comedy writer, dramatic actor and playwright. In constructing a Wikipedia article I am committed to providing a professional product.
I have provided information taken from Melbourne newspaper The Age' Bold text for your information.
I hope this allays any concerns you have regarding the importance of the article. I will proceed very slowly in slowly gathering verifiable facts and consult with other professionals amongst the comedy contributors. If you want further information about me, I have an IMDb page. There are also a number of articles about me online.
Thank you for your feedback, Theroadislong. Much appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Frederick - Fred - Rowan.

You again declined , you are giving the reason are already fixed . Tell me what else needed Alekh99 (talk) 09:18, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
- You need more sources to establish any WP:GNG. Theroadislong (talk) 09:20, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
There are two The Hindu article which has one one paragraph each about kadam tree writ filed by suresh sharma. Secondly 3 and 4 references are not available online so i have given citation for them . And both article says Rajasthan High court prohibited the cutting of kadam in the state of Rajasthan on the writ filed by Suresh Sharma. Alekh99 (talk) 09:30, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
- We need multiple in-depth coverage of HIM, not the tree writ. Theroadislong (talk) 09:32, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
The 3 and 4 references are depth coverage but they are not available online tell me where can i share with you Alekh99 (talk) 09:37, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
Have you checked the two sources of The Hindu because few days back you were unable to sign in the website as you say it is not possible from UK Alekh99 (talk) 09:38, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
Also tell me how to share offline articles with you Alekh99 (talk) 09:39, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
Check talk page for reference 3 and 4 of draft:Suresh Sharma (activist) Alekh99 (talk) 10:42, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
- I have checked yes, it does not change my opinion that your father does not meet the notability guidelines. You are free to submit and I'll let another reviewer comment, but it doesn't look hopeful, sorry, not everyone is notable enough for an article, there are many other online options for memorialising your fathers excellent work, good luck. - (talk page stalker) @Alekh99: As already pointed out on your user talk page, it is not necessary to sign in to read those articles. People from outside of India may not be able to sign in to The Hindu website, but they don't need to do so. I have looked at all the sources that are available and agree with the reviewers – these sources do not support the individual's notability, the way Wikipedia defines notability. --bonadea contributions talk 09:42, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
But what about the articles which are not available online they have full depth coverage and i already mention it as 3 and 4 reference in draft:Suresh Sharma(activist) Alekh99 (talk) 09:45, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
There should be a way to make these offline article available to reviewers Alekh99 (talk) 09:48, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
- To be blunt, nothing in the draft you wrote indicates that the individual is notable. I understand that this is your father and I do not indend any lack of respect – it is simply a fact that a very, very, very small proportion of individuals are notable according to Wikipedia's definition. If you wish to write about your late father, you should find a different place to do so. (Also because it is always a bad idea for anyone to write about their family members in Wikipedia. If Queen Elizabeth II were to register an account here, she would be strongly dissuaded from editing the article about her father.) The scans of articles that you uploaded to the draft article's talk page do not change this, from my perspective. --bonadea contributions talk 10:27, 31 March 2020 (UTC)

Will the article get deleted itself Alekh99 (talk) 10:47, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments. I have tried to make the text more neutral so hopefully this reads more accordingly to the standards. As for the references I have added more of them; I have seen other pages with similar types of references (primary) and they were published. Is there a way to know that the references are suitable? Is there a list or website where we can enter them to validate them? I have avoided Goodreads and IMDb and blogs. Isaucier (talk) 22:35, 31 March 2020 (UTC)
Well... that was abrupt and unexpected. I am surely not getting paid in any way to write this article and was shocked to see the mention added. As this is my first article, I will admit that I'm learning and the experience so far is quite rebarbative and the editing process is not what I expected at all. How can I remove this article as I will not work on it again. Thanks. Isaucier (talk) 12:40, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- Who is "we" Wikipedia accounts are strictly for single person use, which led me to suspect that you might work for the actor in some capacity, I have removed the template. Theroadislong (talk) 13:01, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm sorry, it's a bad use of the word 'we' and a gallicism on my part (English isn't my first language); I suppose I should have wrote 'one' or 'I' instead.Isaucier (talk) 14:41, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi Theroadislong, Thank you for reviewing my first article. So Can I expect that my article will get approval, and if not can you recommend me essential changes That Should be in the article?

World Influencers and Bloggers Awards
Hello, would you be so kind to explain me why the tone of voise is advertising? We aim to provide an informational artivle about the last-yea event and the following one. Maay me be some examples of wrong wording? And one more problem you have noticed - poor and incorrect references. Where to search correct ones? What to add? Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by AlexBonapard (talk • contribs) 14:51, 1 April 2020 (UTC)
- From the very first sentence it reads like an advert “an international contest that is organized for the most distinguished bloggers all over the world.” You also need to declare any conflict of interest undeclared paid editing is a breach of the terms of use that you have to agree to abide by when you edit here, and we take editing in areas where you have a personal or professional interest very seriously. Forbes is not a reliable source and your own website is of no use for establishing notability. Theroadislong (talk) 15:17, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

This page is information about a portuguese start up. It has many references of portuguese and international sources like Forbes. Could you please review if it's possible to publish it? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Julianabelo92 (talk • contribs) 15:23, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- Forbes is not a reliable source and Wikipedia is not a venue for promoting startups and content like "Springkode vision is that consumers and manufacturers can be directly connected" and " produce for several global luxury brands" "online exclusive, high quality clothing" "positive impact towards sustainability" etc is totally unacceptable in neutral encyclopaedia article.Theroadislong (talk) 15:30, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- I collapsed the above to two sections. Sorry Theroadislong, thought I was on the Teahouse page and not an editor talk page! In any case, Sprinkode is clearly spam, and I have placed the db-spam tag. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 15:41, 2 April 2020 (UTC)

Slug Signorino
Hello, I am Slug's daughter, Susie Signorino. My father asked me to add his client list to his wiki page, and a photograph of him with his granddaughter. The client information is from an old advertising mailing that he used to send out.
Is there a way to make his wikipage editable by me without having to be checked?
Thank you, Susie Signorino — Preceding unsigned comment added by Susan Signorino (talk • contribs) 17:21, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
- That doesn't sound like it would be suitable for Wikipedia, we only report on what independent reliable sources say about a subject, the client list is a primary source and of no interest. If you took the photo yourself then you could upload it Wikipedia Commons, but it would be preferable to have one without a granddaughter, for privacy concerns. As you have a conflict of interest you can make suggestions on the talk page of his article for others to consider, but it's advisable not to edit the article directly. Draft:Emily Tyra
Thank you for comments.
I will look at them and decide what changes need to be made to address your concerns.
I don't know who attached the comment about this being edited or created in return for undisclosed payments but frankly I'm shocked - and a bit flattered - to have such an assertion leveled at my first article for Wikipedia. A long-time user (and a financial contributor, I might add) to Wikipedia, I'm certainly not getting paid to create/edit this article. And no, as a MIT-trained engineer (note the automotive-related nom de plume), I've never made a living by writing. The errors thus far noted so far are par for a beginner learning how to use this tool, who also never learned how to spell or write until graduate school.
I'll figure out how to address and neutralize this completely unfounded concern later, if required.
Again, thanks for your comments. Back shortly with edits.

Hello
Hello, I saw you recently deleted a page I wrote about a famous entrepreneur in Kosovo & that did represent the country of Kosovo in very big worldwide festivals for the stuff he does such as Business & Implementing new stuff in the Balkans region. He was also a fashion model who did represent the country of Kosovo in very big places in the world. I think he needs a Wikipedia page since a lot of people ask him a lot on social media for more info and there isn't a page like Wikipedia that was written for him.
I did spend the last one month doing researches from him calling his manager, reading about him, watching interviews and getting as much information to make this Wikipedia page for him. Note: This is not a paid or anything like that to publish this page. I just saw the need the people had to know for him and I took my privilege as a writer to write a page about him.
If there is something that I need to change regardly the page I would love to take my time and do it.

Hey one more time me
Hello, I saw you said interviews are not good but I saw that Engjell was actually in all the Albanian Tv so that mean those aren't interviews He has a well-known audience and the youtube videos I did send was just to prove that he was in Tv Show's I think he is a good fit for Wikipedia since the people already know him and want to know more info about his life and who he is.
People in Kosovo & Albania and also the world talk's a lot about him and make show's and stuff about him
He was awarded from the Kosovo parliament a few times for the stuff he does and for the fashion model stuff he did in the past and that he do also some time's now.
Please do some more research about Engjell I really want to see him In Wikipedia since I see that he is a good fit for the Wikipedia and people will actually be glad to know more about him for a secure source as Wikipedia
Here are some more Albanian articles about him and his career http://www.gazetaartikulli.com/2019/12/05/15-vjecari-nga-kosova-qe-u-be-milioner-nga-interneti-foto/ https://gazetablic.com/15-vjecari-nga-kosova-qe-u-be-milioner-nga-interneti/
Sci Phi Journal
Hi there! I'm another AfC reviewer and I declined Draft:Sci Phi Journal recently, but then began a dialogue with the editor who made the draft on their talk page, User talk:M2wiki. The user followed my advice and added mention of a Hugo and Logo award nomination, the former of which is a particularly big deal in the world of sci-fi. I'm wondering what your thoughts were when you later declined the article—do you think it's close to showing notability? Or is there a bigger problem? — Bilorv (talk) 12:15, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- I declined basically because there are no independent reliable sources unconnected to the magazine, the nomination in itself isn't really enough to establish notability. Happy to be persuaded though. Theroadislong (talk) 12:38, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Thank you for the comment, can you expand a little for me please:
Is a facebook external link not allowed anywhere, not allowed in the Reflist section, or could it be used as a simple external link?

Jdodkins (talk) 12:24, 5 April 2020 (UTC)
- It can be used as an external link if that is the only web presence the person has, but it has no use in establishing any notability. Theroadislong (talk) 12:41, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

Notability-failed citation issue Sagon Penn
Hi Theroadislong,
Incase you missed my response to your noatbility issue please see below. Feel free to respond here or head over to the Sago Penn talk page. Thanks
Response to Sulfurboy,
Gap in explanation closed. Misconduct in this case has already long been been established with the acquittals some 35 years ago. How do you think he got acquitted after killing the officer? It has already been established that Penn was beaten by officer Riggs.
Whomever is claiming failed verification in the article needs to read the following oh so reliable sources below lets see if this source gets mysteriously deleted. I doubt it.
http://www.sdpolicemuseum.com/Sagon-Penn.html
Here is the quote verbatim
″Penn's two trials focused attention on the uneasy relationship between San Diego police and minority residents. To cool the tensions, the City Council appointed a citizens advisory task force on police community relations. From the task force, and a series of eight public forums held throughout the city, came a recommendation for the city's first citizens police review board″″″. Still not convinced? Please remove the failed citation I will wait......Spiritletters (talk) 21:51, 7 April 2020 (UTC) Respectfully submitted Spiritletters (talk) 22:23, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

Resubmission
Hi, I have greatly improved the article Draft:Amit Bhadana (youtuber). Please review Mr Tejal (talk) 08:39, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry I have rejected the article per another users comment "Fails the requirements of WP:ANYBIO / WP:ENT. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is for an individual's "outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema". This award was not granted to Bhadana. The article on the awards states: Several other awards and film festivals have been named after Dadasaheb Phalke, sometimes leading to confusion. The award granted to Bhadana is not a notable award and certainly not the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award". Theroadislong (talk) 08:59, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- I did not know this myself. So when I came to know that Amit Bhadana has not received this award, I removed that information from this article. After that I made a lot of change in the article, you might not have seen that change and removed the article directly. I felt bad that despite deleting the source of the award, you deleted the article. I request you to bring that article back to Wikipedia.
If you don't do that, I would assume that the reviewers do their own arbitrary. Mr Tejal (talk) 09:45, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Hello! You recently rejected my draft for the Forcura page. I am doing this for a school assignment and need to get it published. What changes do I need to make in order to get it published? Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agwarnock (talk • contribs) 19:48, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- I'll let Theroadislong answer your question since you addressed them- but your teacher/instructor should be aware that it is an unfair assignment to require students to successfully create a new Wikipedia article as part of a graded assignment. Such efforts usually cause more problems for the project than help it(in terms of the teacher, not you the student) Are they working with the Wikipedia Education Program? 331dot (talk) 19:54, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
- I also agree that it is VERY unfair to be set this assignment. Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the company have chosen to publish about them. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent reliable sources have said about them. You have used the company website for all your sources apart from one, which is also not independent. Find at least three independent reliable sources and base your article on what they say, if you can't find the sources, then the company is not notable in Wikipedia terms. Article unsourced
You mentioned that my Draft:JNIOR article is unsourced. While I try to understand. I am not sure that there is any source leading to the existence of this product. Yet, it is everywhere and relatively unknown. At the same time numerous similar but different items are listed in the encyclopedia. Can you suggest a possible source for this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bscloutier (talk • contribs) 16:43, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
- If there is no source where did the content come from? Articles only report on what the reliable sources say, if there are no sources, then we cannot have an article. Theroadislong (talk) 16:48, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
Jamie Kai -
Hi Theroadislong!
I have reviewed the Wikipedia musician requirements you left there for me to review, I hit the nail on the head with the first requirement! Musicians or ensembles (this category includes bands, singers, rappers, orchestras, DJs, musical theatre groups, instrumentalists, etc.) may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria.
Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself. - I have cited all of those sources, and can tag on many more, they are in German, since my TV apprentice was in Germany. Is the problem lying within the fact that they are incorrectly sourced? Please help! :(

- The English Wikipedia has stricter guidelines on accepting articles. Your draft uses IMDb which is not a reliable source, Good Company Pictures is a primary source, not secondary as required, the filmography contains no notable films, ie. they don’t have articles and the awards do not appear to be notable either. Marcywinograd (talk) 17:44, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi,
I'm Marcy Winograd. Thank you for reviewing my draft "Puppets Against AIDS" and for responding promptly. I would appreciate it if you would further clarify, with quotes from specific sentences that you consider inappropriate, why you have rejected the article and explain explicitly (with a link) to how I can appeal your rejection as I wrote in the required neutral tone, included criticism of the project under "Evaluation", included multiple source citations (and not just to the creators' web site but also to NCBI abstracts, the World Encyclopedia of Puppetry, New Scientist and the Kenya Institute of Puppet Theater), external links to other Wikipedia articles that related to the topic. You mentioned in the rejection that the article reads more like an advertisement. To be clear, I posted evaluations of the program that included criticism, e.g, "Effectiveness and Evaluation" "Evaluators concluded, however, that Puppets Against AIDS could be even more effective if it were "incorporated into existing community-based education programmes on HIV infection." (citation) also "Although the researchers noted a need for sciprt changes to both improve the portrayal of women and to better address modern misconceptions about HIV/AIDS ... (citation) To further clarify, I wrote this article entry after reading on Wikipedia a list of requested articles. I had never heard of Puppets Against AIDS, nor had any relationship with the creator. I only contacted him recently to see if he had any photos to which he would grant a right to publish in the public domain on Wikimedia and Wikipedia. I believe this rejection is unfair and unwarranted and I would like to appeal it. Please send me a link to where I appeal and/or reconsider the rejection while providing very specific feedback on which sentences are not in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines. I spent many days/hours researching this program as a volunteer writer and am, frankly, shocked that the entry was rejected.Marcywinograd (talk) 17:44, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- You can start by removing the in line external links as requested, we don't use them. Content should be based on what independent sources have reported, so all content that isn't sourced should be removed or correctly sourced and the tone should be encyclopaedic and neutral. Wondering Why My Wiki Profile Was Rejected?
Hello Theroadislong,
I am acutely interested in the specific reason the article i sent into review was rejected.
If you could inform me with a couple reasons why it was rejected or criteria to follow next time I submit, it would help a ton!
Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rrnagy44 (talk • contribs) 18:17, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesn't host profiles? I'm afraid that, like many others, you have misunderstood what Wikipedia is about. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that summarizes what independent sources say about a subject. You would need to provide detailed references showing that you have received significant coverage, in reliable sources that are independent of you. Theroadislong (talk) 18:21, 10 April 2020 (UTC)
Resurrecting Lives Foundation
Hello- I just read your comments about sources. I was not aware that I need to put them directly with each fact I am stating. I am happy to do so. As a point of clarification- the news sources and medical literature I am using to cite- are those acceptable sources? I read the FAQ and it appears they are however since my article has been declined twice, I am not sure.
Also- the other editing issues for Taylor Bennett- linked to this IP address are not my doing. I am using a shared IP and Mr. Bennett lives in my building.
Thanks for your time. 104.244.240.65 (talk) 18:24, 10 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi The Road is Long,
Thanks reviewing so promptly my draft. I will try to fix the issues you pointed at. I'm having a little concern though, as it seems that I can only keep working on my draft in Edit source mode. Is that normal? It seems that I can't even do any further contribution to other pages.
Could you let me know how to make sure that I am able to keep working and contributing. I much agree with your The Road is Long.≈

Revert
Hi again, Just reading the reasoning behind undoing what I wrote about ACTED. 1_ I added a verified information/fact 2_ I sourced that fact to the media that published it. 3_ That was no promotion, nor publicity. It was about accuracy, and it was correctly sourced.
What was wrong with that?
Thanks for elaborating your opinion on this. It will help me understand the policy you are referring to.
NonProfit YS (talk) 15:00, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- Your user name seems to indicate some connection to the link you added but regardless, Wikipedia requires secondary sources not primary ones. Theroadislong (talk) 15:17, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
I wonder what's the point of your comment about my user name? Is this supposed to be helpful in some way? Sourcing a media website that is a reliable source is not inappropriate according to Wikipedia's policy. To the contrary. Can you elaborate your view? Thanks NonProfit YS (talk) 15:33, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
- The content was already sourced to [2] so adding a link to the organisation's own website was not required, the same organisation that you are writing a draft about hence I wondered if you had some connection to that organisation, in which case you would have a conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 15:54, 13 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for explaining things as regards the link. Got that. When someone is well acquainted with a topic, does that mean that there is going to be au automatic conflict of interest? I appreciate the fact that I have been living in Geneva for some years and got to meet and learn a lot about IOs, NGOs, and INGOs. Isn't that a positive point for W? I'm trying to play by Wikipedia rulebook, with neutral tone, balanced presentation and proper sourcing. Hope to make progress. Thanks again.NonProfit YS (talk) 18:23, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Draft: NGO Advisor
Hi,
Thanks very much for the detailed comments.I understand. Some of the information you are referring to cannot be sourced as they are, for some of them, direct taken out of direct testimony by NGOs that filled in the form and questionnaire to be reviewed by NGO Advisor. As regards, the "fresh and critic view" this is from the introductory remarks written in the Global Journal. I can source it there. I do not have alternative source for this though. Not sure what to do? Possibly the best would be to delete these informations, and see if other editors can bring more sources to the page.
ThanksNonProfit YS (talk) 14:31, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- That would NOT be appropriate content and you should address any conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 14:53, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
Thanks; I will delete the information as you consider that it is not appropriate to source the Global Journal. As regards, the conflict of interest, I am not sure to understand your assumption: do you question my position and interest because I completed my Master degree in Marketing and Communications in 2019 at the University of Geneva and that I happen to meet people of the nonprofit sector. Should I consider this to be a conflict of interest? If anything else, could you clarify? Thanks NonProfit YS (talk) 15:13, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- I questioned whether you had a conflict of interest because you seem to be using a primary source here "taken out of direct testimony by NGOs that filled in the form and questionnaire to be reviewed by NGO Advisor". Theroadislong (talk) 15:18, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for answering. My point is that being able to build on testimony doesn't equate to a conflict of interest. I have been looking at the new feedback by another editor. Thanks to him. I tried to stay focus and to improve the page. I begin to understand the difference between a more journalistic tone and a wiki tone. I will certainly benefit from more positive advise though, as I'm not a communication agency nor selling anything here, which seems to be a concern to many editors on Wikipedia (sorry but I'm not familiar with that). I felt that I could contribute here because of my expertise and I am happy to learn about how to best contribute, not having to face understatements that somehow sounds odd to me. Thanks again. - You have not re-submitted it yet. The tone is inappropriate for an encyclopaedia. You clearly still haven’t read WP:REFB, the sources are incorrectly formatted and you haven't said which criteria at WP:NMUSICIAN you think they meet? Theroadislong (talk) 17:34, 14 April 2020 (UTC)
The Five Foundation
Hi, I wanted to learn why you have accepted to publish a page "The Five Foundation" that doesn't meet the standards you've referred to in order to decline an another draft page. The Five Foundation references are op-eds by the founder and supporter of the Five Foundation in different mainstream media. You seem to believe that these references are sufficient to value the notability of the organisation described (The Five Foundation). This seems to be contradicting the rules you are claiming to apply to reject other pages. Why the same rules do not apply in the same way? References should be independent : If anyone checks the references provided by the author of the Five Foundation page, they are fully dependent to the organisation that is being described in the page (because they are written by the founder of this organisation). So can you explain how you apply rules in two separate and conflicting ways? Thanks.
- Reuters, Evening Standard. The Guardian, The Telegraph, Vogue, CNN and The Times are all considered reliable independent sources, if you are concerned that The Five Foundation is not notable you are free to take it to articles for deletion, the main consideration when accepting articles from WP:AFC is whether they would survive at WP:AFD. Theroadislong (talk) 07:18, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- There can be no confusion between the fact that The Guardian and other news outlet are supposed to reliable independent sources AND the fact that these news outlets provide columns to external contributors. These external contributions CANNOT be considered independent to a given page as a reliable reference to the author of such external contributions in "reliable independent sources". Please advice. The last part of your comment is more of an understatement than a simple information. Could you clarify? Thanks NonProfit YS (talk) 07:35, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
Hi again,
- I don't think that it is appropriate to request for deletion. I think that you should revert your decision to move this Draft: FIVE FOUNDATION page back to Draft: Five Foundation. Please advice. THanks.
NonProfit YS (talk) 07:44, 15 April 2020 (UTC)
- Please see WP:AFCPURPOSE. The purpose of reviewing is to identify which submissions will be deleted and which won't. Articles that will probably survive a listing at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion should be accepted. Articles that will probably not survive should be declined. There is no point in returning it to draft as I consider that it would easily survive an WP:AFD. Theroadislong (talk) 08:12, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

The Five Foundation page
Hi there,
Just after The Five Foundation page was finally accepted I see it was deleted for 'paid editing' I was not paid to edit though so how can this be restored? I note the discussion above too which says that the references are op-eds from the co-founder - this is only a couple of the references, which are also valid - the majority of them are independent high quality media which were not written by the co-founder - such as the Evening Standard article and Reuters article which discuss the importance of The Five Foundation.
Kind regards Brendanwynne (talk) 09:40, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
- The Five Foundation was founded by Nimco Ali and Brendan Wynne, so you are definitely deemed a paid editor and you clearly have a conflict of interest, you need to declare this on your user page. Theroadislong (talk) 10:06, 16 April 2020 (UTC)
My name is my username so I'm clearly not hiding any conflict - I have added a note on my userpage now as requested. How do we get the page restored? The text above about references being op-eds is not accurate - there is a lot of independent media too. The Five Foundation is a recognised leading charity on this issue. I have also double checked what 'Paid Editing' means for Wikipedia and it is not applicable to me. This is not my employer - it is a charitable organisation. Thanks Brendanwynne (talk) 11:33, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Second, it says in the comment that the page has too many citations - last time it was declined for not having enough citations?

Draft:Pauline Johnson
FYI: I saw the (now closed) ANI thread about Draft:Pauline Johnson. I posted a note at WIR to see if someone can fix the article problems. Hope you are staying safe. It's a 100 percent certainty that staying inside and editing WP will not lead to COVID infection! ThatMontrealIP (talk) 23:26, 16 April 2020 (UTC)

Request on 15:56:39, 17 April 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Zztap78
Hi,
I have tried to make a sufficient article of Lautapelit.fi and failed.
I do not wish to cause too much work on this for anyone else, but I do not know how to do this correctly. We are a small Finnish company with little US presence, so getting english links, references and pages to add to this has proven difficult, at least for me.
I tried to look other game publishers Wikipage pages as a model/template (Bezier Games and CMON limited).
I am now stuck in this and do not know how to proceed and go forward. I might try to add more text on games that are translated to Nordic languages, but if I do that, I most likely can't add links to pages (for example official Finnish board game of the year -winners from https://suomenleluyhdistys.fi/category/vuoden-peli/ ) because those are all in Finnish. I can add those but I am not sure that it is ok with the moderators of Wikipedia.
So if anyone has clear advice how to proceed, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Tuomo Pekkanen
ps. I am not sure if it is clear that I work for the company and have been told by my boss, the owner, to make an english entry to wikipedia. I have already done the Finnish version but this english version has proven to be too difficult for me, I haven't done that much work on Wikipedia before...

- Firstly you will need to declare your conflict of interest as a paid editor. For companies to have Wikipedia articles, there must be significant in-depth coverage of them in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, you don't have these yet. Creating an article on Wikipedia for your own company is one of the most difficult tasks there is here, so difficult that I suggest that you tell your boss that it is not possible. Draft Article - Hilal Al Sabti
Dear Theroadislong,
Thank you for giving me feedback two weeks ago on my first draft article. I resubmitted the Biography and have added significant references and footnotes. Today, I received a message that it is subject for deletion despite the references provided. May I know how can I rewrite and improve further the Biography/Article please. I have taken the advise of other reviewers and edited the article in order to conform it with your policies and guidelines. Even if it may end up having only few details remaining as long as it gets accepted, would be great. I would very much appreciate an advice from you on how can I improve and have this submission be accepted in Wikipedia.
Thank you.
Regards, Suzette
- You can contest the deletion by clicking on the blue box in the speedy notice, but you do need to find more in-depth coverage of him in independent sources and not just passing mentions, I'm not seeing anything at the moment. Theroadislong (talk) 10:02, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Draft:Erik_Stark
Hello, You've reviewed my draft that had some reference problems. I think I fixed them now, I would really appreciate if you could have a look and Gove me a feedback. Thanks! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Erik_Stark
- Did you read WP:REFB? The references are still incorrectly formatted. Theroadislong (talk) 15:04, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
I got the problem. I re-formatted all the references following the article you suggested. Are they correctly formatted now?

Khouri St.Surin
Hi ! I was just wondering why my Wikipedia page about Khouri St.Surin was declined. Khouri is a professional actor and I have done my research on him .
Thank you !
- There is no evidence that you have done any research though? I think you may have misunderstood how Wikipedia works. Wikipedia only has articles about notable topics that have been reported on in depth by multiple, independent reliable sources. Your draft has no sources so doesn't establish any notabilty. Theroadislong (talk) 19:00, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Ok ! Sorry ! I added many new sources ! Sorry for the inconvenience .
Where is "the large Submit link?
I don't see a large "Submit" link on the draft of my Lucien Thévet" article. Could you be more specific as to where it is? Thanks! Corniste6367 (talk) 21:54, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for reviewing my article on Thos Walker & Sons. It is my first article for Wikipedia, I appreciate your help.
I'm unclear if it is the matter of better referencing, or is it the subject matter itself not appropriate. Please advise.
Thank you - Philip PJE Walker (talk) 22:06, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Hi,
I made changes to the article you rejected in my sandbox. I am not sure if you can see the changes in my sandbox as I am doing this for the first time and would appreciate your guidance.
Article tone advice
Hi,
Thanks for leaving a comment on Draft:Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, The University of Manchester and forgive me if I'm posting this message in the wrong place - I'm new to Wikipedia editing. Could you offer any advice on how I can change the tone of my article to make it less like an advert and more like an encyclopedia article?
Thanks
- We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject, so you could start by removing all the content that has no independent sources and be sure to declare any [[WP:COI|conflict of interest. Theroadislong (talk) 10:11, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
Jean-Pierre Florens
Thank you for your guidance. I added several external sources to the page:
- Google Scholar profile: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Ed5GtKIAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao,
- External links to the Cambridge University Press, Econometric Theory, ET Interviews
- Link to his famous book on Bayesian Inferences, published by Marcel Dekker
- Link to his famous book on Econometrics with a foreword by the Nobel Prize winner James Heckman, published by Cambridge University Press
- Link to his Handbook of Econometrics chapter on inverse problems (he is a leader of this field).
- Lectures on Inverse problems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH449EmdYIQ
There is also some recent news coverage, but mostly in French, e.g, on the appropriate statistical modeling of COVID-19
https://www.latribune.fr/opinions/tribunes/les-statistiques-pour-guerir-du-covid-19-844543.html
Please let me know if I could improve it further.
Evidence that supports his recognition in the profession: 1) Florens is a fellow of Econometric society, a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor, see https://www.econometricsociety.org/society/organization-and-governance/fellows;
2) Right from its inception in 1985, the journal Econometric Theory (Cambridge University Press) has featured the "ET Interviews". These are published interviews with key figures who have helped to shape the discipline of econometrics as we know it, see https://davegiles.blogspot.com/2015/03/the-et-interviews.html. Florens was interviewed recently by Eric Ghysels "ET Interview" recently, see https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/econometric-theory/article/et-interview-jeanpierre-florens/031EE3776E032E72227E1CEBDCF7CEE4.
3) His books are well-known in the profession and are used at different academic institutions, see
https://econ.unc.edu/files/2019/05/870KimFall2018.pdf
https://www.scribd.com/document/96862653/241B-Syllabus
5) He has several highly cited papers (by the Econometric Theory standards):
https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=Ed5GtKIAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao
His name is mentioned at several Wikipedia pages and his work is used as a reference on the subject:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fellows_of_the_Econometric_Society
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Dr%C3%A8ze
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durbin%E2%80%93Wu%E2%80%93Hausman_test
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Gouri%C3%A9roux
- I'm afraid that more external links are of no use unless they can reference some content in the article, his own books and other primary sources are also no good for establishing any notability. Theroadislong (talk) 13:26, 20 April 2020 (UTC)
