Q on reference source language

07:53:55, 14 November 2017 review of submission by FriendlyB

Dear Thereodislong,

thank you for reviewing the draft "Dr. Petry Textile Auxiliaries".

For the sources, I cited independent sources, such as - http://www.genios.de/fachzeitschriften/artikel/MTB/20080617/umweltschutz-und-nachhaltigkeit-in-/060817061.html - https://www.biooekonomie-bw.de/de/fachbeitrag/aktuell/insektenchitin-macht-textilherstellung-nachhaltiger/

In order to have more evidence, I added information from further independent sources and references: - https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/companies/6311207Z:GR-textilchemie-dr-petry-gmbh - https://www.bluesign.com/industry/chemical-suppliers/references/textilchemie-dr-petry

Thank you in advance for re-reviewing.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your assistance with Draft:InnoCare. I have included {{connected contributor}} and noted it on your user page that I work for that company. They're not paying me to create this page, I just think it would cool to have a Wikipedia page. Let me know if there's anything else you can suggest to improve my draft. I appreciate your help!

I added more 3rd party sources that are verifiable and are independent, professional sources (not personal blogs or sites). I now have 15 citations.

Please let me know what else you think is required to have it accepted?

Dear Theroadislong

Hope you are fine and doing good.

I am requesting for a review again as the major comment for rejection/decline of this article was its Reference section or having less references. Now, the draft has been updated, and more than 20 solid references have been employed, with more historical details, and best possible bibliographic support in the light of the available literature. This single page article is now having over 25 appropriate references, and are strengthened with new data.

Your anticipation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Sincere Regards

Dear Theroadislong

Thank you very much for your prompt response.

The objected references (facebook) has been udpated with the departmental URLS (links to the webpages). I think, these were the most up to dated and regularly updating references. Moreover, the last paragraph was deleted, because the book describing the paragraph and the mentioned material is in press (which is written by Dr. Ikram), and once the book got published, the three to four lines paragraph will be inserted again.

I do hope, that the draft will get approved now and will get online, as after coming across other such articles, this one seems to be far better than those.

Your prompt and positive anticipation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation

Sincere Regards

The submission's referencing was improved as advised, and I added a few more. More information on his teachings and publications were added. The page exists in 3 other Wikipedia: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Russell https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Russell https://sk.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Russell

Hi Theroadislong! I have recently uploaded a draft of the article "Admitad" here and you have declined it. Could you kindly explain what can I do to make it right? Is it possible to work with you as my mentor on the draft? Or, maybe, you can help with writing, could you kindly tell me what is the best option? admitad is a global company, it already helps over 630,000 people worldwide. I believe, that it needs to be on Wikipedia.

Images/Imágenes

Hi! As Images/Imágenes stated I am being paid to edit this page, but I am also working on this program as it is a work in progress. It was on the aire for over 30 years and pulled off in 2011. We are currently working on starting the project again but as this program began in the 70's there is not a large online presence. Is there anyway this page could be published for now, so we can show people that Images/Imágenes is coming back? Thanks, Alice

I have a lot of information from the Executive Producer but since none of it is available online, I cannot reference it. For example: (None of this is available online) Mission Images/Imágenes is a multi- Emmy award-winning television program series that creates, chronicles, and promotes the varied rich diverse history, culture, and life experiences of Hispanic/Latino communities in the state of New Jersey and the nation. Brief Organizational History For 46 years, the Images/Imágenes television series provided a voice and platform for New Jersey's diverse Latino population. The program series is known as the longest-running Latino community program in the history of PBS. Over the decades, the Emmy award winning series featured thought provoking round table discussions, interviews, profiles, documentaries and special topic episodes on the most prevalent issues pertaining to and for the Hispanic/Latino populations – the fastest growing demographic in New Jersey. Program topics ranged from lifestyles, business, education, legal matters, community affairs, pop culture/entertainment, the arts, sports and the health and sciences. Images/Imagenes was launched on January 6, 1972 than titled “Mi Casa Su Casa” on NJPTV hosted by producer, Diego Castellanos. The program made history as the first Latino television series on Public Television in New Jersey to air across the Garden State and surged as the nation’s number one market in New York and the number 4 market in Philadelphia. Since then the series is recognized as a resource for top Latino stories, both at local, as well as the national level. Award Winning Producer William Sánchez is the Producer/Director of Images/Imágenes since 1972, and is currently revitalizing a new series as its producer/director at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He produced the series with the PBS NJ Television Network until the station was dissolved by the state on June 30, 2011. Within the first ten years Images/Imágenes became the leading contributor of programs for the PBS Series Presente hosted by Rita Moreno. Images/Imágenes competed with mainstream networks and was selected over ABC World News Tonight at the National Unity Awards in St. Louis. Then it rose to the top of the Latino Broadcasting Media when it was highlighted at the San Antonio Film Festival in the 1980s as a must see series on Latin Music alongside the films “LA BAMBA” and “STAND AND DELIVER.” National Recognition

For over 40 years, Images/Imágenes under the leadership of producer William Sanchez the television industry has recognized the series with four Emmys and nominated for twenty by National PBS. The series is distinguished having received numerous national acclaims from the White House, Congress, National PBS, the National Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and three New Jersey Governors. The series represented PBS in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It was distributed by the Department of Defense and with audiences including American military bases around the world. It was also national under the Latino Consortium’s series “PRESENTE” with host Rita Moreno. Now under the banner of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Images/Imagenes’ legacy continues for public viewing at the United States Library of Congress. Signature Shows There are a number of evergreen programs that were signature shows for the series and are timeless works of history and culture. A. DRAFT:Summation Formula List Decline

Ok, I took your advice and added my material back onto the wiki page on summation. You watch how long it takes D Lazarus to delete it and post his own rambling notes. His notes don't transition well for sentence-to-sentence; paragraph-to-paragraph, nor make any sense; Some of what he posts really is not related to closed form summation. Roger

Dixon Algebra submission.

I have followed your instructions and I think I have successfully updated the references to conform to wiki practices.

Historical notes: • I begsn working on this topic some 40 years ago; • Periodically the algebra has cropped up in the works of others; • Most of this activity has occurred in the last 8 years; • John Baez was the first to call the algebra the Dixon algebra; • This became somewhat solidified when the Quanta Mag and Wired articles appeared; • I recently saw a blog in which the blog's author said there is no wikipedia page for the Dixon algebra yet; • So I decided to start one.

PyCM

Hi

I think Draft:PyCM is good enough to be accepted. This article provides some reliable references like Journal of open source software and Github (the most popular community of software developers) and etc. In comparison with other accepted open-source software articles like Aika_(software), Renjin , UIMA , BigDL, Cantera_(software) that most of them are self-cited. And also this library with more than 640 stars, 200 dependant codes and 1000 installs per week, is more popular than currently available articles on English Wikipedia like ELKI, Cantera_(software), OpenNN. Any suggestion is gratefully welcomed to improve this draft.

Thank you for your consideration.

Billgroll It appears to have been deleted as an abandoned draft, by User:Sphilbrick I declined it at AFC because it had no sources. If there is to be an article on Howard B. Your draft Draft:Margot Friedlander has insufficient sources at the moment, all content should be sourced, the English Wikipedia is slightly more strict on this than other countries. I am sure that sources exist, they do not have to be in English either. Theroadislong (talk) 08:32, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RE:Spacesldie

Hi Theroadislong,

I have just received your message regarding Spaceslide article. My intention was to message you before I submitted this, as is the Wikipedia best practice.

This article is a factual account of Spaceslide, a company owned by Home Decor. There is no advertising here whatsoever. I'd like to point you towards the B&Q page, which this is modelled off, how does this differ? What else would you require to accept this page?

We have been creating this page from a non-advertising background for some time now, we are a little stuck as to how we are supposed to proceed, as this page does not differ from the thousands of other factual records of businesses that exist on Wikipedia.

Regards, Tom — Preceding unsigned comment added by Agrove11 (talkcontribs) 16:33, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Agrove11 Firstly Wikipedia accounts are strictly for single person use, who is "we"? Notability is judged by looking at the depth of coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources, we have no interest in what the company says about itself on it’s own website. The B&Q refers to a broad range of independent reliable sources whereas your draft does not. Theroadislong (talk) 16:48, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well for a start terms like "Leveraging his experience, Pronin created Hily as a secure platform aimed at improving the way people connect" and "Hily maintains a safe environment through prioritizing user safety and platform security" are over the top promotional. Dear reviewer,

Thanks for the input/work that you provide to the users of Wikipedia.

I understand that your rejection of the "Scotching" contribution was due to the lack of information that was provided / lack of resources and data on the subject.

I would appreciate if you could guide me further in order to know which elements (lenght, depth, etc) I should take into consideration for my submission to be accepted.

This being a new form of art that i am a fan of, I would like to make sure that it has its own definition and description as it is normally confused with other forms of tape work.

Verdis

Why have you rejected my draft for Verdis? It's a new micronation somebody wants to start between Serbia and Croatia, just like Liberland. If Liberland and Sealand can get their own page, then why can't Verdis?

-Bulbasaur777Eevee

Sorry but your draft is unreferenced and not sufficiently notable for an article. We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject and your draft has none. Theroadislong (talk) 09:46, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted most of it as copyvio and posted in more detail to their talk page. Doug Weller talk 10:31, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It IS notable. it's a new country someone wants to start, if all micronations, even the satirical ones can have its own page, then why can't Verdis have? If the offical micronation's webpage isn't reliable, then what is? --Bulbasaur777Eevee (talk) 17:00, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Whizz Recordings declination

Why is Whizz Recordings advertising? It does not sell products, nor does it make money from it's music. I am also not related or associated with the company, but I do know a lot about it due to a long-running friendship with one of the founders, and I am merely setting this up due to the limited amount of information available on the record label. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Inconspicuous Stick (talkcontribs) 16:09, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inconspicuous Stick It reads like an advert because all it is doing is promoting what they do. Your friendship means you have a conflict of interest. Notability is judged by looking at the depth of coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources. Novice editors are commonly advised to cite at least three independent, reliable, secondary sources containing significant coverage. Some degree of regional, statewide, national, or international media coverage is also required. Most businesses are not suitable subjects for an encyclopedia article. Your draft has no reliable sources, YouTube is not a reliable source. Theroadislong (talk) 16:26, 2 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I added a sources catagory and can't get the link to IMDB right, can you help?John J Morris (talk) 13:46, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

John J Morris IMDb is not a reliable source so there is no point in adding it (it is user generated). In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide references to articles written about Baker in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books, websites etc. Theroadislong (talk) 14:14, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Harold Red Baker

I put the hyperlink to the web site azbilliards.com on the sources category where they talk about Harold Baker please let me know if this is acceptable,I will still have to figure how to make the right tag. I also have a National Billiards News from 1968 that has a three page article with pictures that tells about his life story, but I don't think it is on the net anywhere. Also have news paper articles in my photo album from the Los Angeles times and the Van Nuys California News. Can I just mention them on the sources category or do i need to copy and have a link.John J Morris (talk) 17:17, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

John J Morris That's great, sources don't have to be on line, but please read WP:REFB for help with formatting them. Theroadislong (talk) 17:24, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your assistance in improving this proposed entry. I’ve removed all external links in what I consider the article’s body. My question: is anything above the References line considered “body.” If so, I need to remove the article links. I’ve found such links on other pages, but possibly I’ve misunderstood.

Talk Page Warning for Edit Warring RE William Lane Craig Article

Good Evening Theroadislong, I appreciate the warning on my talk page about the recent edits to the William Lane Craig article and I sympathize with why it would appear that I am edit warring. However, I'd like to point out that I am engaged on the talk page and that I am only reverting the edits of another user who has 5 consecutive reverts across two other editors now and who has consistently not engaged on the talk page. The reverts are an attempt to maintain the page as was agreed to on multiple occasions until a consensus is reached on the talk page for further changes. This is not an edit war in the classic sense, but an attempt by an editor to impose a change on a page without discussion. Squatch347 (talk) 23:22, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bumping this comment. Again, please note before leaving warnings on my page that I am editing inline with the talk page discussion and actively involved in a talk page discussion. Selective warnings to me while ignoring the consistent edits by others to remove content repeatedly agreed to in talk page archives is not productive to resolution. Squatch347 (talk) 15:27, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is no consensus on the talk page for the content to be added. Theroadislong (talk) 15:36, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Talk page question.

Hi, thank you so much for the comment on my draft article. I already disclosed on my own talk page that I was paid, per Wikipedia's note when you try to publish an article. Do I also have to do it on the individual page I'm publishing? I read this on wikipedia about it "They must do this on their main user page, or on the talk page accompanying any paid contributions, or in edit summaries." It says first I can do it on my main user page. I hope that works! I hope in the future to edit more pages and I might get paid by others and add it there too, unless you say the actual talk page is mandatory? Thank you again. Tuuzi (talk) 22:53, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Psychic reading article

I'm rather new to all of this, but you stated I added a link to this article? This simply is not true, all I did was fix the spelling of Lati to Latin, as that is what the paragraph was trying to say. No such alphabet of Lati exists, only Latin (which is what we are using right now). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.216.51.64 (talk) 23:19, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Mícheál Mór" "City Sue"

Hi

You've rejected "Mícheál Mór angus City Sue" as not relevant enough to merit a wikipedia article. But if you Google "Mícheál Mór" "City Sue" you get over 100 entries and two pages of video uploads. The provenance of this poem has long been unknown, and so to reveal it now is something of interest in Irish oral culture - are you expert in that, may I ask? I would want to expand the page with later versions

Best

John — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bergsonn (talkcontribs) 17:32, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you can find and include multiple in-depth sources that cover the poem then we could have an article, but your draft doesn't have these. Theroadislong (talk) 18:04, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

To add preposition.

Respected sir,

           Yesterday, I browsed about Dr Shamsheer vayalil on wikipedia. There I saw an infobox in that an alma mater column is present. In that name of two medical colleges are given;

1.) Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. 2.) Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai.

Sir, I request you to add preposition "in" between the name of second medical college (described up)and the name of the city where it is located.

Note: This preposition is "not"needed in first medical college name and it's location name.

Thankyou. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.230.167.2 (talk) 17:39, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theroadislong how are you?

I am sorry that my addition to the Prince biography broke rules/upset you/violated something. I added the info because it is true. I went to St Louis U School of Med 80-85 (took a year off trying to decide whether I wanted to do Residency at Mayo Clinic vs NY. We met by accident in Minneapolis and developed a strong attachment - I was not in the music world, and he and I became very close friends and confidantes. I will NEVER sell our secret info ... ever, but I just thought that it would be disrespectful to Prince not to acknowledge our deep friendship. I decided to go to NY, he ended up not marrying Ms Melvoin but they remained friends ... at a distance lol. Since she worked with him, as did almost all of his friends/associates ... the working relationships often bring out different personality qualities (as many in V Fair commented) He was intrinsically kind and soft and good. He enjoyed conversation and jokes and non music related stories. He wasnot cold or harsh. Anyways Theroadislong ( and it seems too damn long for me@) respectfully I say I did not IMHO "vandalize" his bio. Please tell me what I did wrong? Thanks! PS I chose NY where I am a physician ... on leave bc I was a 9/11 first responder and have a potpourri of medical issues. Prince and I are (were) the same age - perhaps you are younger and do not feel the "joy" of the joint pain of a life well lived!

@Shelovesbigdogs: Thank you for the delightful details of your friendship, if your relationship was reported on by reliable sources then it could be added, but I'm afraid Wikipedia only reports on what the reliable published sources say, we are not concerned with the truth. All very good wishes to you. Theroadislong (talk) 19:19, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

re Distillerie Neisson

Thanks for the heads up regarding your rejection of my draft article on Distillerie Neisson. This is my second try with this article, and if you have time, I would appreciate any advice on how to revise it to meet standards for submission. I have no ties to the company and am not attempting to advertise — the article seems to me to be in line with articles for similar companies, such as Flor de Caña and Distillerie Dillon. Is it the product listing? The link to the distributor (which I noted in Talk could be deleted if not acceptable)? I'm a new contributor, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks. DebraL55 Wikipedia has no interest in what the articles subject wants to say about herself, only what independent reliable sources have reported.
Wikipedia is only interested in what people who have no connection with the subject have published about them. The article should be limited to a summary of what such independent sources have said about them. If there are no sources then we don’t have an article. Your own website, YouTube etc are not suitable. Theroadislong (talk) 06:44, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are promoting something that hasn't happened yet, so it is a blatant advert. Wikipedia only reports on what reliable secondary sources have said about a subject, your draft has no independent reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 18:53, 15 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Articles for creation: Dubblestandart

Dear Theroadislong,

I understand and respect that Wikipedia needs to keep the highest standards when approving new articles, However, i am disappointed that it still didn't go through. All i want is reasonable information for the English speaking world about the band. A German Wikipedia site already exists. Dubblestandart is a band from Vienna, Austria(which is not really known for very many acts becoming internationally known)who produced a full length album with Grammy winning Lee Perry, Ariup from the Slits and film director David Lynch, toured with them and many more since 3 decades! The website https://www.discogs.com/artist/26293-Dubblestandart?page=1 lists the band with more than 30 international releases. The reference section has a long list of internationally known producers and musicians who worked with them. All this are independent sources and i don't understand what's the issue here. This given the fact that the band is already listed on the German Wikipedia site with far less detailed information.https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubblestandart They are mentioned on David Lynchs Wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Lynch_discography As well as on Lee Perrys Wikipedia entry https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_%22Scratch%22_Perry The collaboration of Dubblestandart & Subatomic Sound System and Lee Perry also put New Yorks Subatomic Sound System on the map! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subatomic_Sound_System

Of course most of the mentions belong to the past but it is a pretty unique thing that this band made it that far, given the fact that they always have been working 100% independent and coming from a country that is lesser known for delivering acts in that field.

Please think about and i really would appreciate if u could approve the information i put together and put the article online. A lot of people looking for information concerning this band, will thank you.:)

Many thanks!

Sincerely

Paul — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul Zawilensky (talkcontribs) 16:20, 16 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Paul Zawilensky You need to address all the concerns in the various comments, Wikipedia articles should contain no external links in the body of the article, ALL the content needs to be sourced please read WP:REFB for help with that and please note that Discogs is not a suitable source. The fact that there is a `German Wikipedia article has no relevance at all, English Wikipedia has higher standards, you need to show how the band passes WP:BAND. Help on Footnotes

Hello!

I am trying to better understand what I need to update on the article. I have been reading the footnotes/citation sections you provided but I feel I am just missing something as I followed this beforehand as well and just cant seem to know what is different from what I put up on the article.

I even went through the Fix ambiguous links · Fix bare URLs · Fix broken links resources. I know you dont have a lot of time, but it would be very helpful to know if all of my citations need to be scratched or was there one specific ones that were bad?

Thank you! Much appreciate it.

Dreizehn_XIII review

I understand and recognize that youtube and blog are not reliable references and that's wikipedia's rules, but as I mentioned in other comment, I also offered many other trustworthy sources, online magazines links and interviews. Moreover, there're thousand of other articles on wikipedia that are violating those terms of wikipedia and that's pretty unfair. There're thousand of underground bands and artists in the wikipedia with poorly done references and youtube links used as proof of relevance.

Regards
