Hello. I translated an article from the Russian Wikipedia. There is also this article in the Polish, Ukrainian and Turkish Wikipedia. In Russian it was more voluminous, so I translated it from there. Will there be time to take a look ? Thanks ! 37.230.234.79 (talk) 13:30, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Theroadislong,

I have further revised the Climate-ADAPT page, adding more reliable sources (EU laws, regulations, Communications of the European Parliaments, peer-reviewed publications, books and portals). Furthermore, I have renamed the page, in line with the official name of the platform, as mentioned in the EU Regulation documents. Here is the new link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:European_Climate_Adaptation_Platform_Climate-ADAPT Please note that the CLIMATE-ADAPT platform is also mentioned in the European Environment Agency (EEA) Wikipedia page, as the platform is part of the EEA website. Disclosure about paid contribution is also mentioned, as previously discussed. Would you please be so kind to let me know if this version is suitable for review, and if not, what change you would suggest? Thank you and best regards, Chiaramzztt (talk) 09:18, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft is still entirely promotional, see the comments I left on it. Theroadislong (talk) 09:37, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Page Review

Dear Theroadislong

I received your evaluation about my draft article I am trying to publish about the company GitScrum. Could you please help me answering the following questions so I can try to edit it and adapt it?

1) I read the competitors (Trello, Asana, Bootcamp) page and they pretty much follow the same standards, we used them as example of language, so we are finding difficult to understand: why ours can we not publish ours?

2) We have included references / sources to prove our tool and our users exist and are numerous; and have removed all adjectives that could be considered as personal evaluation of the product, leaving the text only informative. Even so, it returns as advertising. What else can we change?

We want to adapt to the rules, just would like to understand them specifically.

Huge thanks, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Denisemacielbr (talkcontribs) 18:18, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read other poor quality articles exist, secondly you say "we", user accounts are strictly for single person use, thirdly you need to correctly disclose your paid editing status. Your draft User:Denisemacielbr/sandbox is just blatant promotion. Theroadislong (talk) 18:50, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fashion Net article does not contain paid contributions

Hello Theroadislong. Thanks for your help. The Fashion Net article does not contain paid contributions and I'd appreciate if you could remove the tag. Before creating the draft, I did, however, comply with your requirements and declared a conflict of interest at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Fnoll While I'm doing my best to be neutral, I understand the article may need to be edited by others. Scans of the print articles from the 1990s and early 2000s as well as the video have indeed been linked from the stigharder.com website. If possible, the scans could perhaps be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons and linked from there.

Still Waiting for help

Hello,there.

This is Anwar Shakir Wazir uploaded an article my Biography as a journalist. Still waiting for your great response.

Thanks. Anwar Shakir.

A Wikipedia article about a person must summarise what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about them, showing how they meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable person your draft has your own writing as references, your own work is not independent so of no use for establishing notability. Theroadislong (talk) 09:39, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Laboratoire de physique des deux infinis Irène Joliot-Curie

Dear Theroadislong, I have updated the references following your recommendations. In particular, I have removed the references to L'Edition (the journal for Université Paris-Saclay) to comply with your request. Let me however stress that the editors of this journal have no direct links with IJCLab, and that they are independent in terms of editorial content.

On the other hand, the fact that the laboratory was created recently makes it fairly difficult to find articles and especially books in English describing the laboratory extensively as requested.

JayPsi (talk) 11:49, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This would indicate that the topic is not notable in Wikipedia's terms then. Theroadislong (talk) 12:01, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there!

Apologies I'm unsure of how to respond to your other message regarding my submission for a wikipage for PaliRoots

Wanted to note that I am head of public relations for the company - and ask the appropriate way for submitting a page with that knowledge (not something I'm trying to hide! Just simply unsure of how to properly present that through my profile :) ).

If this is through a paid disclaimer I am happy to do so!

Hello - I think you made a mistake

Hello! Thank you for responding to my inquiry on the Draft article on Benzinga. I think you made a mistake - the sources that I used in the article I wrote are not press releases, but independently published articles about the company that appeared in U.S. and Canadian media outlets including Bloomberg, Detroit Free Press and Globe and Mail. I intentionally avoided running PRNewswire coverage, which is all press releases, and did not quote from the site itself. And Adoil Descended (talk) 19:17, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Two of the sources looked like press releases as they share the same title "Benzinga startup to move to Dan Gilbert's Campus Martius spot in Detroit" but I could be wrong, feel free to re-submit and I'll leave it for another reviewer. Theroadislong (talk) 19:23, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

3rd draft: Ernst Strüngmann Forum

Hi Theroadislong,

The text for the Ernst Strüngmann Forum article has been rewritten and will be published in a minute. It relies on third-party, peer-reviewed academic publications and reliable news sources. The logic behind this draft is to convey the following information to the interested reader:

  • Purpose of the institute
  • Location
  • Funding & backing
  • Output

In developing the article, I consulted Wikipedia articles for two comparable institutes: Aspen Institute and the Institute for Advanced Study in Berlin. When one compares the Wikipedia articles for these 2 institutes, one might find the text to be "promotional" in tenor, but the info is nonetheless important for the reader. Importantly, both articles rely on these institutions' websites as info sources, especially the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, as opposed to third-party sources.

In researching the Ernst Strüngmann Forum, I encountered numerous articles published in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals -- all of which offer glowing assessments of this institute. A Wikipedia article in English appears to be long overdue. I hope this draft fulfills this purpose. I look forward to your comments. Thanks, Susyak — Preceding unsigned comment added by Susyak (talkcontribs) 16:47, 2 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

George Cervantes

Hello Theroadislong --- I added a 3 new links and 1 is very important. Under the career milestone - Cervantes was featured as the #3 celebrity matchmaker alongside TV celebrity star Patti Stanger from the TV show The Millionare Matchmaker and MTV's celebrity TV star Alessandra Conti. Cervantes was placed at #3 on the list of the top celebrity matchmakers in Hollywood. He was recognized in the news article for being one of the top celebrity matchmakers in Hollywood. The News story wasn't just about Cervantes, but it convers him in great detail.

He was already featured on many publications for opening his own animal shelter in New York City and was awarded by the state of New York. There are many links that have the story on his page. He was also feautured as the top 10 influencer in his home coutry of Peru. I belive I have provided plenty of links to prove notability. News stories on different independent sources that have absolutely no relationship to Cervantes or his organization or that will benefit from talking about Cervantes.

According to Wikipedia - Cervantes must be listed on different news publications that have no relationship to him and none of those links have any relationship to Cervantes or his organization. That means that all of those links are independent sources and count towards making him notable for Wikipedia. --Marcorubiocali (talk) 19:17, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cervantes owns a celebrity matchmaking service. Those news publiations where he is featured are celebrity news channels, magazines, tabloids and such. These types of places have absolutely zero benefit from associating with Cervantes. They are all independent sources that make Cervantes notable for Wikipedia.

Looking forward to hearing back from you. --Marcorubiocali (talk) 19:18, 3 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will leave it to another reviewer, I am not convinced. Theroadislong (talk)

Fashion Net notability

In your latest edit, you write "Submission is about a company or organization not yet shown to meet notability guidelines."

Fashion Net is not a company or organization; Fashion Net is a web portal - the very first of its kind.

Where can I read about Wikipedia's notability guidelines for a web portal? I found this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(web), but I didn't find anything there that indicates the references I already provided are insufficient.

Thanks for your guidance on this, Theroadislong.

Fashion Net sources

Thank you, Theroadislong. I can update the formatting of Fashion Net's references using the RefToolbar.

As for scanned sources, I found this reference that links to a scan of an old newspaper uploaded by Google:

[1]

Several of the referenced articles on the Fashion Net draft are published only in print and will be hard to verify if links to the scans are missing; there is no archive I'm aware of where old BBC footage can be seen.

Fnoll (talk) 02:15, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Brenda Almond (philosopher)

Okay, so I have spent a few more days on this! Please pop over to the draft and have a look. Basically, I have found references in:

The Times The Sunday Times The Daily Mail (Yes, I know this is not a reputable 'source' but the point of this reference is to show that Almond was addressing the Daily Mail audience through features, hence 'active in the public debate'. It can go, of course, if that's still not appropriate) The Times Higher (There's a lot of links to her here if needed)

Then there's the UK government committees which throw up only limited mentions, but I have indicated she was indeed active here which is surely a 'notable' role.

But I guess, it's over to you again now!

(One thing I haven't gone into is her direct links to people like Mary Midgley, AJ Ayer, etc who have long pages on WP and mention her in their books… ) 13:33, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

About the Sandor Belak article

Dear Theroadislong.

Thank you for your fast review of the Sándor Belák article draft. I have gone through the references and changed them to the format that is required by Wikipedia. There is an external reference, see below, which gives a comprehensive summary of all the facts (and even more) what is written in the article. I have referenced that twice - do not know if I need to reference it more. What do you think? With kind regards, --Fmasszi (talk) 17:44, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have four section with zero sources, I can't read your source above, but if it supports the content in the unsourced sections then by all means cite it. Theroadislong (talk) 17:49, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fmasszi, to me, and I've written a number of such biographies, it looks like a mostly unverified resume. You can't say things about all the publications and how important they are to a Google search, the awards are unsourced, the "International assignments" are unsourced except for one primary source, etc. Drmies (talk) 17:52, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Drmies thanks for your note. Please consider what you yourself also wrote : "except for one primary source". This primary source is in fact verifies everything - and even more - what is in the article. Have you looked at that primary source? Please do that - it is in English. Do we really need more when that source is so comprehensive? Please also note that this article already exist in the Hungarian Wikipedia https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bel%C3%A1k_S%C3%A1ndor_(%C3%A1llatorvos) and in that version all Sandor Belak's aricles (about 20-30) are referenced. But in the English version I took them out, following the previous advice of another editor HitroMilanese.

Kind regards --Fmasszi (talk) 18:20, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Fmasszi Primary sources cannot be used to establish notability for that we require significant in-depth coverage in secondary sources. The English Wikipedia has a higher threshold for inclusion than other countries. Theroadislong (talk) 18:34, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Fmasszi, this is a resume, summarizing what was no doubt provided by the subject himself. I assume the subject has no reason to lie about any of it, but then again we've seen plenty of well-known people who were less than honest. This is why we require proper, independent, secondary sources. And notability isn't perhaps the most important issue here; the very basic fact of reliability is. In addition, "Impact on higher education" and "Impact outside academia" are completely unverified, and cannot by their very nature be self-sourced--they are, right now, unverified promotional claims. Just as your subject's articles and books were peer-reviewed (if they were published in academic journals and by academic presses), so do claims about someone's impact need to be properly vetted. I am trying to explain this, and our policies, to you, but I am not going to discuss these guidelines with you: they are well-established throughout the project, and if you want the bio to be accepted, it would be beneficial to follow them. Matters of notability, as well as other aspects, are outlined in Wikipedia:Notability (academics). Thank you, Drmies (talk) 18:50, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Drmies no doubt you are right but I was referring to the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Newsletter, see reference above in this section, not to the ABCD article you quoted above. That article was surely not written by the subject himself and it is very detailed. But anyway, I see your point and will complete the article with the necessary references as you outlined. They are not so difficult to find, just give me some days to find the time. In fact, almost all of them were already in the Hungarian version. Concerning the notability issue, thanks but I am familiar with it, I have gone through it already before the summer with another editor User HitroMilanese and the subject person was accepted from that perspective. But anyway, thanks for your concern, I will change the article as requested. It will definitely be better. Have a nice evening (it is evening in Sweden where I am) --Fmasszi (talk) 19:37, 8 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Theroadislong,

I'm writing regarding your review of my article about the Value Balancing Alliance, which I last edited in October. I understand that the nature of my edits gave you the impression that I'm getting paid to write it, but I'm not. I'm a student who is interested in Sustainable Finance, the economy, and especially sustainability topics. This is the first article I ever wrote on Wikipedia, and I was really interested to learn how to write a Wikipedia article. Obviously, I'm not good at it, but I would be very thankful to have some assistance from your side on how to improve my article. I'm writing this article to challenge myself to learn new things, such as writing an article from the beginning on Wikipedia, and informing others about a non-profit organisation that, in my opinion, is doing a great job on achieving sustainability. Still, I am NOT profiting in any kind of way from doing this.

I would be very grateful if you could help me with this matter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CMEvalue (talkcontribs) 10:39, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Creating an article from scratch is the most difficult task on Wikipedia, it’s like deciding you want to be a surgeon and then doing brain surgery with no experience. Start by removing everything that doesn’t have a reliable independent source, ALL content should be based solely on independent published sources. Hey, We are trying to take the wikipedia page for Practo live for a while now and have been facing issues. It gets speedy deleted of the draft is rejected with your concerns of it being an advertisement for the company. We had mentioned before that we are getting paid by the company to make the page live. If you could please help us understand how we can overcome this issue, it would be a great help.

We can now not even access our draft to make changes for the same. It would be great if you could get that issue sorted too.

Thankyou. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Archit.2006 (talkcontribs) 12:01, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft is here Draft:Practo but it will require administrator access to create, as it was repeatedly recreated and deleted, I can't help as I am not an admin. Theroadislong (talk) 12:24, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mina Miller Edison is notable for her contributions in the civic arena. Being president of the National Playground Association and the National Recreation and Parks Service is not notable? Yes, she was married to a famous man, but her contributions are her own and her famous husband should not disqualify her. I'm working with The Edison Papers and we're doing this for a virtual historical exhibit. Kathlittle22 (talk) 19:13, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mina Miller Edison Notability

Hello I am messaging in response to your message to explain why Mina Miller Edison is indeed notable. Having reviewed the guidelines you sent me, I have determined that while she was indeed married to a famous man, she certainly should not be excluded for that simple reason. She should be included in wikipedia based on her accomplishments, namely, her civic engagement. Mrs. Edison was a civic backbone of West Orange in the late 1800s and early 1900s and headed several community organizations during a time when women were just beginning to take such public roles. Mina Miller Edison was a trailblazer. Her work should not be considered trivial just because her scope was limited as a result of her context. At that point it's like saying women's work doesn't or didn't matter. I'm a historical intern working for the Thomas Edison Papers project with the National Park service and we're trying to get wiki pages up for notable people for an online exhibit. The draft doesn't make clear what the "contributions in the civic arena" actually were and being president of the National Playground Association and the National Recreation and Parks Service is not inherently notable in itself. Happy to be persuaded otherwise. Theroadislong (talk) 20:12, 10 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kewsong Lee

Draft:Kewsong Lee

Hi. This isn't my article as someone had already created it before me. However I found the subject noteworthy so I have pretty much rewrote it from scratch.

Would like to request your review and see if there are any points that need to be addressed on it. Thanks. -Imcdc (talk) 14:09, 12 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disclosing Conflict of Interest

Hi. I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. Where do I need to put this? Many thanks, Ryan RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 14:32, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The draft you are working on contains a LOT of unsourced content, leading others to think that you may have a connection with the subject or are being paid, but if you don't that is fine. Theroadislong (talk) 14:45, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Response to your query regarding paid article.

Respected Sir/Madam, Please check my response to your query regarding whether the [talk:Enwriter|article] written by me was paid or not. Please check and reply accordingly. 14:57, 13 November 2021 (UTC)~Enwriter([talk:Enwriter|talk])

Looks like your draft was deleted. Theroadislong (talk) 15:03, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Now I added article with just basic information about the organisation and it is still getting deleted. Please take a look into it. Enwriter(talk) 15:45, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Please tell me what do I need to change or add to let this article stay? Enwriter (talk) 16:24, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Enwriter You need to create a draft using WP:AFC called Draft:Hindi Olympiad Foundation and then submit it for review, but ensure that it is supported by reliable sources. Wikipedia is NOT for merely providing information. A Wikipedia article about an organisation must summarise what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about them Theroadislong (talk) 16:40, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Independent sources

what do you mean by independent? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trixvel (talkcontribs) 18:04, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Indpendent sources are ones that have no connection to you. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something or someone Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. You do not appear to pass the criteria at WP:GNG or WP:NMUSICIAN. Theroadislong (talk) 18:09, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Its your opinion but wikipedia's rules say another. take a look:

> Criteria for musicians and ensembles > 5. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels (i.e., an independent label with a history of more than a few years, and with a roster of performers, many of whom are independently notable). > G-Mafia Records, Islou Records, Noize Bangers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trixvel (talkcontribs) 18:21, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Trixvel Your only "sources" seem to be the existence of your music online. Any article about you must summarize what independent sources say about your work; such as reviews of your music not prompted by you, or media coverage of your performances(again, not prompted by you). Note that an article about yourself is not necessarily desirable, see this page. Even if you are notable, there still must be sources about you to summarize in an article. 331dot (talk) 18:35, 13 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Submission Query

Hello, thank you so much for your comments on the submission for the page Candice McKenzie.

We will remove the external link in the body of the text.

If Discogs is not a reliable source, can we use Apple Music?

Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sheorganisesforyou (talkcontribs) 22:49, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Neither are independent they are what we call primary sources, you need sources that discuss the topic in-depth with significant coverage. You say "we"" please note that user accounts are strictly single person use only, be sure to disclose any conflict of interest too. Theroadislong (talk) 22:53, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Practo Draft Deletion

Hey, We had previously disclosed it was a paid project, and will make sure to do it again. To do this, we need to get access to our page again. As of now, it says that we don't have access to make edits. Please tell us how to go about it and it would be great if you grant us access so that we can make the necessary — Preceding unsigned comment added by Archit.2006 (talkcontribs) 06:02, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Archit.2006, why do you use the word "we"? Wikipedia accounts are for the use of one person and one person only. Team accounts are not permitted. So, if yours is a team account with a shared password, abandon it and create individual accounts. Each account must comply with WP:PAID. This is mandatory. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:17, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Nicolas Nader Article: List of Publications

Thanks for your comment regarding the endless list of publications not being useful for conferring notability. I had attempted to establish notability in the first section of the article, not with the list of publications. To clarify, I included the list of publications because, during my research of this topic, I found several publications by Gary Nader Editions were being sold online as collector's items, in some cases for hundreds of dollars. So I thought a list of similar publications by the same author would be useful, not for notability, but to people interested in these publications for the sake of the descriptions and photos of the art they contain. I reviewed the Wikipedia [policy] but didn't see what part I was violating exactly, as I only included publications that had an OCLC number (as the independent verification that they do indeed exist as publications). Could you please clarify exactly which Wikipedia policy is being violated in the instance of this list being included in the article, and also how much I should shorten the list so it is not considered endless? Thanks for your time. --Glassdaughter (talk) 19:08, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
