Week 5/ Assignment 5 / Sleep by 11
I've added a new paragraph to this term, adding the latest download data, as well as reviews from the news. Also put in citations from authoritative websites. I learned how to find citations based on the topic I wanted to edit. Also while editing, I saw the contribution of other people's edits and was inspired by their formatting, wording, and expressions. I learned a lot from other people's content. Here's the link of the edit history of article "TikTok":https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=TikTok&action=history Sleep by 11 (talk) 13:35, 18 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 6/ Assignment 6 / Sleep by 11
The content of this entry is outdated, so I have added the current new laws and regulations, the SEC's restrictions on foreign joint venture brokerage firms.
This entry is about the China Securities Regulatory Commission and China's financial markets, so I paid close attention to the impact of laws and regulations in the editing process. Each of my wordings should be in accordance with the laws and regulations, not to cause ambiguity to the reader, and also to conform to the original meaning that the laws and regulations intended to convey.

Week 6/ Assignment 6/ Notkc01
This is Kyle. Hope everyone is doing great! 1. I have found one article about the introduction of NFT(Non-fungible token). NFT is a very meaningful production for the digital world after cryptocurrency. As more and more high-tech productions are introduced to our daily life, we certainly might have another identity "actually" living in the digital world. NFT plays an essential role as we purchase things in the digital world. As everything is digitalized, we need something to actually prove the authentication and the ownership of the products and NFT is the series of numbers assigned to each product we buy that can be retrieved by any buyer to show the ownership, previous price, and authentication. I added one journal article and revised the basic concept of NFT to make it more comprehendible and convincible.
2. Here is the diff link. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Non-fungible_token&diff=1056216323&oldid=1056165499
3. Cyberpunk may not be that far from the world we are living in right now. We surely should be prepared for the exchanges and take our chances. Notkc01 (talk) 13:25, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- Notkc01, Good overall, though next time please add some more content to expand the article along with the citation. Current with Week 6. FULBERT (talk) 04:24, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Week5/ Assignment-Citation and Contribution/ Emilyyxx
1. I am working on an article related to my research topic. Virtual workplace has also become one of the most popular topic nowadays. I added one more challenge to it.
3. As doing the research, I'm not only getting more understanding on the topic, but also get to know the processes of adding new materials to the article on Wikipedia. --Emilyyxx (talk) 00:51, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Emilyyxx, Nice edit. Current with Week 5. FULBERT (talk) 02:26, 3 December 2021 (UTC)
Week6/ Assignment-Citation and Contribution/ Emilyyxx
1. Project is the general topic related to my research paper. I also took classes related to the topic and read several books about project management, so I think I might be able to contribute a little on the Wikipedia page.
3. On the original Wikipedia page, I think there's a lack of a concise definition of project, so I decided to add one based on the PMBOK Guide, an official guide of project management published the Project Management Institute. --Emilyyxx (talk) 02:27, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Emilyyxx, This edit is a nice contribution. Current with Week 6. FULBERT (talk) 23:40, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Week7/ Assignment7/ Emilyyxx
1. As I was looking at the digital marketing wiki page, I found that some of the references are outdated, so I decided to add to the strategies section cited with a new journal. I chose luosifen to be my second article because it is one of my favorite food.
2. Link to the diff: -Link to the diff. - Digital Marketing -Link to the diff. -Luosifen
3. I used to use Wikipedia as a major source to learn topics I am interested in, but I realized that I probably should always check the date of the references first to make sure I am not learning the outdated contents.--Emilyyxx (talk) 03:22, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Emilyyxx, Nice contributions for Week 7. FULBERT (talk) 23:41, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Week8/ Assignment8/ Emilyyxx
1. I chose a book and an author for this week's assignment. There are only limited info about the book or the author, so I edited a bit and included citations.
2. Link to the diff. - To Live
Link to the diff. - Rao xueman
3. The articles on Wilipedia often helps, but the contents might be incomplete, so it is important to do more research before take the contents on Wikipedia as truth. I also took a look at the editing history, it is nice to see how many people contributed in different parts to help each other understand the contents better.--Emilyyxx (talk) 04:36, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Emilyyxx, Nice contributions here. Current with Week 8. FULBERT (talk) 23:42, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Week9/ Adding an image/ Emilyyxx
1. Dragon Boat Festival is one of my most favorite festival, and zongzi is a typical food people will have on that day. I looked over the article and did not find a picture of the type of the way people wrap zongzi in my hometown, so I added an image that I took last year of a home-made zongzi.
3. By learning this week's training, I realized that there are different types of licenses of the images and understood what type of images fit on Wikipedia.
4. In the whole process of editing on Wikipedia, I did a lot of research on the topics. I learned a lot about the topics and the rules of editing. I learned that Wikipedia is not the proper reference, but the rules here tend to help editors and readers can learn and contribute on all of these different topics. Without Wikipedia, it might be really hard for us to learn about something that we do not know about.
I probably will continue editing on Wikipedia for the areas I am interested in or on the topics which I've done a lot research on. One of the reasons is that I would like to help more people understand and learn about the things that I like. For example, I added a picture of zongzi from my hometown because I want people to know that there are more different types of zongzi. Also if I've done enough researches on a certain topic in the future, I would like to edit the related topic to allow people get the most recent information or research results on the topic just to help update.--Emilyyxx (talk) 05:26, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- Emilyyxx, Nice reasoning for this addition, and thanks for sharing your perspective on this entire editing experience! FULBERT (talk) 23:43, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

Week5 / assignment 5/ sunnydayreading
Hi,
The Agenda 21 is a C level article still with room for improvement. I found a sentence under support section still needs citation to support: In the absence of a multi-sectoral consensus on how to achieve sustainable development in the United States, the PCSD was conceived to formulate recommendations for the implementation of Agenda 21 (Agenda 21, Wikipedia). In order to support it, I went through the Agdenda 21 and PCSD documents. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Agenda_21&type=revision&diff=1056831619&oldid=1054064900 I learned the importance of ciatation. Citation is a way to give credit to the writers from whom you have borrowed words and ideas.
Thanks

- Sunnydayreading, Per the assignment, "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when you add this and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 04:41, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- FULBERT, there is a statement about USA PCSD's movemnet towarding the Agenda 21. However, there is no evidence to support it. I found two citations that proved the author's idea. Both of them are from the offical website. The frist citation is from the USA PCSD , and second citation is from the United nations. These two ciatation provide the idea/statement is from a correct source. Sunnydayreading (talk) 08:14, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Hi Folks, this is my assignment 9
1. My citation article is "Walmart". My other citation article is "Target". I added some recent news for these 2 companies in Wikipedia.
2. The diff link:
3. In this process, I broaden my horizon by reading lots of news and Wikipedia, and I also learn how to write in a neutral approach.
4. As for this experience, I would say it is a wonderful journey. I choose the topics and search on the Internet, I love sharing my information and knowledge on the Internet. During this process, I learn lots of knowledge in Wikipedia, and I know how to quickly search for information on the Internet. I tend to continue editing on Wikipedia. --EricaLiu1260 (talk) 07:15, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 7/ Assignment 7/ Notkc01
Hi guys, hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. Here is my assignment 7.
1. I have followed metaverse for a while as this is a hot topic these days for the financial technology field. I read the topic of Metaverse on Wiki and expanded its utilization of Nike's recent action in its Utilization section. Besides technology giants, more and more big companies are stepping into the metaverse and trying to get ahead of others. The second article I found is the introduction to Anta sports. I added more information about its origin with the citation taken from its official website.
2. Link to diff:
3. Editing articles on Wiki is definitely a great learning process for me to improve my writing and it also provides me with another angle reading those articles. Notkc01 (talk) 11:44, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Notkc01, These should be for two different articles. Please add a second one and ping me and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 04:26, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- FULBERT Hi Professor, sorry for the confusion. I must mistakenly paste the same address for my two articles. Here is the link diff for my second article. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Anta_Sports&diff=1057569934&oldid=1057481355. I added one citation about the background of the company to increase the credibility and extended the stock code for more information. Notkc01 (talk) 05:21, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- Notkc01, Per the assignment, be sure to provide a sentence or two to express each of your contributions in context, and demonstrate how they add to the knowledge in the article. Ping me when you add some additional content to your citation and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 05:57, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- FULBERT Please check the new link-diff for the Anta-sports article. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Anta_Sports&diff=1058725039&oldid=1057569934. For the Metaverse article, I actually added one sentence in the virtual reality section about Nike's newest movement toward Metaverse. Notkc01 (talk) 06:53, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Week6/Assignment6/Jw6740
1. I found an S-level article named "E-commerce payment system" since it closely related to the topic of my research paper. When I was reviewing the article, I found there is no reference under the section "methods of online payment". Therefore, I found a high-quality journal article talks about digital payment systems and added it to this wiki article with one description sentence.
2. Link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=E-commerce_payment_system&diff=prev&oldid=1057572478
3. What I learned from this process is that a high-quality article must have a lot of references to support its statements. Also, each statement should have an in-text citation to show evidence. Jw6740 (talk) 12:04, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

Week 8/ Assignment 8/ Notkc01
1. For assignment 8, I decided to step my feet into the health field not only because I am a gym enthusiast but also I am interested in health and nutrition. Anaerobic exercise and overtraining and interrelated. I checked both articles and they all have explained the topic thoroughly. I edited one sentence of each topic to increase the readability and also inserted related citations to help increase the credibility of certain points in both articles.
2. Link to diff

- FULBERT For the anaerobic exercise article, the correct explanation of the functionality of the aerobic system. The original sentence did not clarify that aerobic actually help store fuel in the body to prepare for the next exercise. I also added the citation of related studies to be convincible. For the overtraining article, I added one treatment to deal with overtraining. The original treatment section was ambiguous about cutting the aspects of overall training. I specified the volume and the intensity that can be considered to reduce when people experience overtraining. Notkc01 (talk) 05:20, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- Notkc01, You only added a citation without adding information that helps us see how you improved the article. What you explained here is fine, though say something in the article that demonstrates how you added to it. Ping me when you add some additional content to your citation and I will review. FULBERT (talk) 05:59, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

1. For my bonus assignment, I want to extend the health topic to stretching and aerobic exercise. Both articles illustrated the topics well and I backed up some points with my citation to help increase the reliability.

- Notkc01, Please provide reflection on the overall assignment per the instructions for Week 9 and ping me when done. FULBERT (talk) 14:43, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- FULBERT For the stretching article, I added one sentence to another way of performing Ballistic stretching that the article did not touch on. For the aerobic exercise article, I added a short paragraph to explain the possibility of using aerobic exercises to lose fat. The original conclusion made by the article was arbitrary and did not consider the level of experience of all potential practitioners. For the process of editing, I learned that we should think laterally especially when we are trying to make a conclusion or advice to readers. The arbitrary conclusions or conclusions without citations backed up can be misleading and unreliable. For the overall reflection with this Wikipedia extra credit assignment, I definitely have more experience on editing Wikipedia and truly explored the overall functionality of Wikipedia. I believe I will continue to follow topics that I am interested in on Wikipedia and provide edits to those articles to improve my writing and the overall platform. Week7/Assignment7/Jw6740
1. The two articles I found are "Food delivery" and "Home shopping" which are both related to the influences that e-commerce brings to human lives. Fo the "Food delivery", I found the content under the "delivery software service" is focused on the ordering system in the restaurant instead of food delivery, so I added the influence of food delivery application with supportive reference. For the other article, I added the market trend ad benefits of home shopping with two sentences and high-quality references.

Week 8/Assignment 8/Katxzhang
1. What I did in this article is add a testified example that emotional damage was made to students because of the neglect of teachers on the relevant issue.
2. Comparison: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=School_climate&type=revision&diff=1057625462&oldid=1015200399
3. I learned that schools should care more about students' general wellbeing rather than focusing on academic progress. Because ample research has proved that school climate can eventually impact the academic performance of students, lead to fewer dropouts, which will raise an institution's reputation in the long run. A good school vibe really can make a difference, as it is never meant to be a place for students to suffer. I also learned to research better by filtering articles from different angles then looking into details of a few selected ones.Katxzhang (talk) 20:00, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

- FULBERT Sorry, here is the other article of week 8:
1. In this week's article, I added a new sentence to introduce and conclude the meaning of the issue discussed in the paragraph.
2. Comparison: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Social_aspects_of_television&type=revision&diff=1057174763&oldid=1050974371
3. The article I found is called "Social Aspects and Television". I added the session about gender and television. Looking at the golden time television series' revolution, female characters used to have several certain stereotypes, for example, there used to be many characters as desperate wives or gullible teenagers, which, the characters are fine for sure, what is not okay it trying to send the idea that women are powerless and incapable of control their own life. Through this editing, I learned the gradual yet significant changes in the television industry, where feminism is able to be spread across the world to alter many females' minds that they are within the right to speak for themselves, or that they are weak. It is thriving and breathtaking.Katxzhang (talk) 17:24, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

Hi, I added a citation for rPET(Recycled polyethylene terephthalate plastic). This is a B grade article which still needs improvement. I found a citation from ScienceDirect that can prove the genus Nocardia can degrade PET with an esterase enzyme. Here is a link to show diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Polyethylene_terephthalate&diff=1057659297&oldid=1049252865 . I have learned how to find a citation wisely. Hi, The first article is Green Chemistry, a B grade article. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Green_chemistry&diff=1057666635&oldid=1049550564 The second article is Clothing Industry, also a B grade article. I found two articles through the NYU database to show a trend of sustainable model in the clothing industry. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Clothing_industry&diff=1057669717&oldid=1055299711 Green Marketing is my research topic. - FULBERT, 1) There is a statement suggesting the necessity of impact consideration on the Nano-materials. Because the nano materials will have impact on the environment and human health. However, there is no citation for that statement. I found an article from the Taylor & Francis Group that suggesting the Nano materials will have an impact on the environment and human health. The citation show readers this idea/statement is valid.
2) One of the editor made a statement that the clothing industry has grown to an eco-friendly packaging solution to limit the amount of waste. For the second article, the statement also has no citation to support. I also saw that someone made a tag to reuqire citation to support it. I did a lot of study based on green clothing industry. I found two citations to suopoort it. The first ciatation is from mckinsey, they published a report from their director, announced that the clothing industry is moving to green packing solution with some statistic information. And Second citation is from the ScienceDirect. The second citation introduced a trend in apparel industry to adopt sustainable packing. Hi, The first article is Eutrophication. I found a citation from Oxford Academic that explain Nettles and thorn bushes can be turn into Forest undergrowth. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Eutrophication&diff=1057690057&oldid=1054196315 . The second article is Dead Zone. Here is a link to the diff: https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Dead_zone_(ecology)&diff=1057691518&oldid=1055605656 . I learned a lot through this activity. Similar with our research proposal, every statement needs an evidence to support. And each support should be authentic. Best, Sunnydayreading (talk) 02:58, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Sunnydayreading, Per the assignment, "also include a sentence or two to express your contribution in context and demonstrate how it adds to the knowledge in the article." Ping me here when you add this and I will review it. FULBERT (talk) 04:44, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- FULBERT , thanks for your reply. The article Eutrophication mentioned that the forest undergrowth caused by Nettles and thorn bushes. However, I found this statement has not cicitation. And a note from other editor said that need a furture citation to support it. Therefore, I found an peer reviewed article to support this statement.
For the second article Deadzoom, the article claims that algal bloom is a phenomenon of phytoplankton growth. Similar with the article Eutrophication, it also had a tag from other editors which requiring further reference to support it. So, I added a peer reviewed article to support it. Sunnydayreading (talk) 07:39, 5 December 2021 (UTC)

What I Did and What I Learned
Summary of the cited article:
Small and medium-sized enterprises, abbreviated as SMEs are businesses that operate with a limited number of personnel. SMEs are quite important for social and economic reasons and thus, these sectors play an important role in generating employment. Due to the size of SMEs, they are highly influenced by their CEO(s) (Chief Executive Officer) who often acts as the founders, owners, as well as manager of an SME. The duties and responsibilities of the CEO in SMEs are difficult but mirror the CEOs of large companies. SMEs provide wheels to a nation, mainly developing nations, to drive economic efficiency and employment. SMEs play a crucial role in large enterprises’ supplier networks. An SME stands as a solution to the economic problems like abuse and misuse of economic power, mass unemployment, of the mid-20th century. The selected Wikipedia article has covered discussion on a number of countries accepting and using SMEs for their economic development and growth.

Summary of the cited article:
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease caused by a severe acute respiratory syndrome named coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It was first identified in Wuhan of China in 2019 and then spread over the world. This pandemic heavily influenced the life and livelihood of the people globally. A close to five million people across the world have died and a few million are infected to date. A number of variants of this virus have already hit the world. There is no specific, effective cure or treatment for COVID-19 disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This makes supportive care the cornerstone to manage COVID-19. The supportive care includes oxygen support, fluid therapy, prone positioning for the patients as needed, treatment to relieve symptoms, and devices or medications to support the affected organs of the patients. The preventive measures for COVID-19 include getting vaccinated, wearing a mask in public, maintaining social distancing, avoiding crowds, ventilating all the indoor spaces, and more. The global healthcare industry has experienced a huge demand for medical support systems, devices, medications, and other preventive care in the pandemic. I've added the number of vaccines given for COVID-19 as of 11/29/2021 according to Google News.

I have added this phrase, Meituan, to the various latest figures for 2020, which will go a long way to help readers re-understand the app‘s landscape right now.

In the second article, Pinduoduo, I have added a description of the current situation of this company. This company has changed its chairman and as a result there are some new initiatives that have a big impact on the strategic direction of the company, so I have added them.

Week 8/ Assignment 8 / Sleep by 11
For the first one, BYD Electronic, the introduction to this company was very brief and I gave a detailed description of his main business. And looking for detailed data, as I hope others will not be misled when they see this entry, I found very accurate data through the database of listed companies.
For the second one, Bilibili, I have added objective descriptions to some of the declarative text of features to make this section less of an outdated functional description.

I also became more patient at researching in different directions. I learned to always summarize after research, to make up my mind on the next research topic, and make adjustments to what I already had; I will keep editing on Wiki as long as I have the time so that it reminds me of the things that matter to me.Katxzhang (talk) 01:20, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Copyvio of Clinical metagenomic sequencing
I saw that you commented here. I take it that you are an instructor at NYU for a "Research Process and Methodology course".
I am a bit shocked that you would let Alba Olaso Llorca (your student I assume) get away with a 95% copyvio. I would have thought that if you see flawless English for miles in an article of such complexity by a non-native speaker youd get sceptical or at least you should be using a Copyvio Detector.
IMO the article needs to be completely re-written--Wuerzele (talk) 16:11, 1 December 2021 (UTC)

Week 8/ Assignment 8/ Cloi929
1.I visited the Intrepid aircraft carrier with my friends on the weekend. I find it very interesting. So I choose Aircraft carrier as my article. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Aircraft_carrier&diff=1058849637&oldid=1058849502 2. Second article I choose lululemon. On Black Friday I bought a yoga pants. I think its marketing is very successful. It was the first brand I thought of. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Lululemon_Athletica&diff=1058850035&oldid=1057300057 I think I learned a lot when I was looking for information about aircraft carriers. Although the US military has already ranked first in the world in terms of maritime power. But still spending a lot of money to build aircraft carriers. I think the US military has excessive military spending and it is not conducive to world peace. Regarding lululemon, when I checked the information. I found that most of the reviews are negative. But for me as a consumer, it has increased my customer experience, and I think it is very good.Cloi929 (talk) 00:05, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
Week 9/ Assignment 9/ Cloi929
1. I pick a Eames Lounge Chair image to the MillerKnoll article. I think this is a very famous chair, and it has changed the way people live. And it became an icon of American design. I can see it in almost furniture store in New York. So I think it is important to add a photo of this chair. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=MillerKnoll&diff=1058855654&oldid=1055095022 3. When I checked this article by MillerKnoll, I thought there must be a picture of this chair. In fact no. This surprised me. This chair that changed people's way of life did not appear in Wikipedia. It is so classic. I also went to understand why this chair is so famous and what's so good about it. 4. My sense of experience is good, not only can help other people, but also enrich my own knowledge. I think I will continue to do it. This gives me a sense of accomplishment, whenever I see that my article views are increasing.Cloi929 (talk) 00:52, 6 December 2021 (UTC)
