Week5/ KristinaAllen
This week I edited the article Stock Market, here is the diff of my edit. Also, I added article Market Economy, here is the diff of my edit.
In the Stock Market, I learn that there are two common strategies for achieving financial goals in the stock market: long-term investing and stock trading. Long-term investing is a more conservative approach that involves accumulating wealth over extended periods through diversified portfolios. Stock trading, on the other hand, involves making quick gains on short-term market fluctuations through rapid buying and selling of financial instruments. Each approach has its pros and cons and an investor’s choice of strategy will depend on their financial goals, risk tolerance, and investment experience.
In the Market Economy, I learn that supply and demand are fundamental forces that drive market economies by determining prices and quantities traded in markets. When supply and demand meet at equilibrium, the market reaches a balance where the quantity supplied equals the quantity demanded. Prices play a crucial role in this process by providing information about the availability of goods and services. External factors such as technological advancements, government regulations, and natural disasters can affect supply and demand, causing prices to fluctuate. Supply and demand help to stabilize economies by ensuring that prices accurately reflect market conditions and that producers adjust their output in response to price signals from consumers. --KristinaAllen (talk) 22:26, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
- @KristinaAllen Your first edit dud not fulfill the Wikipedia policy of using reliable, third-party WP:INDEPENDENT published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy WP:RELIABLE and was reverted. As discussed in the assignment and class, always use a reliable source, such as an academic journal article or another high-quality reference. Avoid blogs, corporate websites, reviews, press releases, sources where we cannot determine author expertise or bias, and opinion pieces as they generally do not count as reliable sources. Please either assign yourself a different article and add a credible source that is needed to it or find and cite a more reliable source to the one you edited. Ping me here when done, and I will review. Add 1-2 sentence with a citation, not an entire paragraph unless you add multiple citations. FULBERT (talk) 21:08, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

Week 5 / Liliability
This week I edited two articles: this is the first article Existential risk from artificial general intelligence and here is the diff; this is the second article Artificial general intelligence and here is the diff.
I researched a new topic that's related to my topic and I found some inspiration. I really enjoyed reading new articles and updating and adding citations to it. Liliability (talk) 05:41, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Liliability Citations alone generally do not add value. Beyond adding a citation alone, make sure to provide a sentence or two within the article itself to express your contribution in context (which the citation will support). This will demonstrate how your addition adds to the overall knowledge in the article. Please add a sentence or two to the articles you edited, right by the citations you already added, and then ping me here when done. FULBERT (talk) 16:49, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
- @FULBERT I went back and added several sentences. Please check this article Existential risk from artificial general intelligence and the diff; this is the second article Artificial general intelligence and the diff. Please check! Liliability (talk) 23:47, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

link to the article you copyedited:https://en.wikipedia.org/enwiki/w/index.php?title=Economy&action=history
I learned how to edit the content in Wikipedia. This is diff. And I got deep understanding through economy's history and elements. Yaruduan (talk) 19:27, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Yaruduan All edits require citations to credible and reliable sources, exactly as we do in our course papers. Add a citation to a journal article to support your claim on the article, otherwise it will be reverted. Add that to the article you edited and then ping me here and I will review. Hello everyone,
Hope you doing well.
This week I edited the article social environment. here is the diff of my edit. There are still many people living in the hardship of rural life. The country is renovating roads and facilities in order to change this environment. People's lives are getting better but this is a long-term plan and goal.
Also, I added article women's studies here is the diff of my edit. Water energy can provide greater convenience to people's lives. The role of women is still very problematic in our society nowadays. On the other hand, society and the state are going through the process of helping people to achieve equality between men and women, but the fact is that cultural and racial influences affect the development of feminism even more.

Week7/Rosie Duan
Hello everyone,
I edited two article this week.
First one is Language shift. Here is the diff of my edit.
Summary: Language communities need to be transformed in various ways as the most dominant form of communication today. The history of languages varies from country to country. English as the most dominant language has largely enhanced the wave of communication, but many other languages have had to be replaced at developmental stages.
Second one is growth of religion. Here is the diff of my edit.
Summary: Since religion is inseparable from economics, one needs to consider the realities. The conduction of religion will be changed because of traditional ideas, and more importantly, the development of economy will bring about the change of religion. The performance of people dependent on religion also depends on the economic reality.
I think the overall experience gives me the pleasure of quoting. We can learn from the process of quoting by exploring different perspectives on the same topic. In the process, I found that all topics are worth exploring. I also discovered a lot of good articles and authors in the process. I can read and summarize topics of my own interest in the process. I will continue to use this way to edit wikipedia because I find it a good exercise of my patience and learning ability. I would recommend wikipedia to anyone who likes to read and write.
Thank you all,
Have a good summer break,
Rosie Yaruduan (talk) 06:46, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Yaruduan We need to discuss the approach to editing you are doing. Please do not edit any longer until we meet and discuss. This edit does not fit into the lead per WP:LEAD, which states that the top, or lead, of an article should identify the topic, establish context, explain why the topic is notable, and summarize the most important points of the article, without including new information that is not covered in the remainder of the article. FULBERT (talk) 12:40, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
Week 6/KristinaAllen
Hi, I edit two topics this week. The first one is Social Media. Here is the diff. The second one is Recycling. Here is the diff.
From RecyclingI learn that recycling and waste management are important for environmental sustainability and public health. They can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, environmental pollution, and our carbon footprint. These practices are also important for transitioning towards a circular economy where waste is minimized and resources are kept in use for as long as possible. From Social media, I learn that social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have revolutionized communication, enabling the sharing of information and ideas across geographical boundaries. KristinaAllen (talk) 23:56, 28 April 2023 (UTC)
- @KristinaAllen Your first edit is fine and your second edit was reverted due to its not adding anything to the article that was not already there. I agree with it, though still think you did enough for this week. Current with Week 6. FULBERT (talk) 16:51, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
